Back when Mattel actually gave us pleather jackets. Good times. But to answer your question, yes, they are two of the best figures ever made.

They're both incredible and Bill did such an amazing job on them. Man, look at all those accessories the DM figures used to come with! Meanwhile, that Maniacs Warrior DM from 2016 came with a single pair of sunglasses as his accessories lmao. I'd love to have these but I'm not paying as much as they go for and unfortunately they'll never be able to be released again without ditching all the other accessories and maybe even losing detail on the cloth jackets.

Those are way up there, easily top 10 for sure even with some minor flaws like Bret missing his knee pads. That's The level of quality the DM line used to have, and it is very much missed.

Those are hands down Mattels best work. Followed by Elite 30 LOD.

Accessory wise, sure. But personally I prefer Macho in trunks so either Legends or recent DM would be my top pick for Savage. Without glasses that figure looks nothing like Bret. I wouldn’t rank it in my top 10 with that head sculpt.

Jakks' Montreal 2 pack Bret Hart is far superior.

While they are 2 of the i wouldn’t say they are. When you look at the job Mattel does i honestly think it’s hard to say for sure what the best is. It also depends who and what you like also.

I need that DM Bret. I wasn't collecting at the time and Bret one of my all time favorites and I always loved his 97 attire.

If Bret's scan was better than definitely, but no one can or will trump that of E39 Godfather.

I got the Randy Savage by fluke a few years back for a decent price. That Bret Hart has been on my buy list forever. Great figures.

They're both fantastic figures however, I don't think they are Mattel's best work. Savage is missing his shirt under and has a small head and Bret is missing his kneepads and should have small elbow pads. I think the best figure Mattel had ever made is the SDCC Undertaker. i don't think any other figure will top it, everything from the box to the tooling on the figure is pretty much perfect. I would like to say that the crow dm sting is a runner up, but it suffers from inaccurate boots, chiseled arms, lack of wrist cuffs and stumpy knees. The elite 51 Scott Hall is top notch, minus the small arms as well.

SDCC Undertaker is their best effort in the WWE Line.
As far as mass retail, the Randy Savage WM7 has to be at the very top.
