Pretty sad for me. I loved Kmart when I was a kid. Still have a soft spot for it.

It would be nice if these stores came back as pop up shops for the holidays.

Where are they gonna put all those Disney lawn statues when they all close and will they be clearancing the spilled overturned slurpee cups?

Mine only has a few weeks left, such a freaking tragedy man. Seeing all those vultures that have filled the parking lot morning to night since the announcement last November make me ill. Most probably hadn't stepped in there in months prior. If a quarter of that business had been there, the store wouldn't be closing. Outside of that, Ollie's is the next biggest retailer I would consider to be a draw for my town. Incompetent jerkoffs running things here, this town had virtually been lifeless until 4 years ago. Buncha underdeveloped properties, nothing but shanty shops and car dealerships. Left clinging to hope the vacancy will be filled by Target, but not too positive about it. Likely the building will go to a rat hole that won't improve the property at all. Just pile their crap in, throw up a banner sign on the front and declare they're open for business. Don't see why we're in this mess. It's been no secret corporate wasn't able or willing to keep brick and mortar locations open. There isn't a Target in a 50 mile radius. Three developing cities connected by a US Highway (and Kmart currently occupies the busiest intersection in the county). Why would it take the closure of Kmart to finally bring a Target here and allow a retail void to develop until the new store opens, when this wouldn't be an issue if Target was already here? If I hear the suggestion to shop locally one more time,...
I apologize, I guess I needed to vent.

All mine closed years ago. I miss them, K-Mart had such a nostalgic feel.

Bummer. I loved KMart as a kid. They always had a great selection of wrestling figures. I Vicky remember them having the old AWA Remco Figures.

Welp, my local K-Mart is on the chopping block. Dang. They didn't stock much recently, but I remember in the past they had some really great stuff. I remember getting Elite 11 CM Punk from there. I walked in on a hunt and they had fresh stock on pegs. It's sad. I hate seeing stores going out of business.

Somehow my local Kmart survives another round. Hard to figure out how they stay open with almost nothing on the shelves.

My best friend lives in Fostoria Ohio. Probably one of the last KMarts is down the street from him. I’m glad it survived this round. I need to get there!
It’s sad to be honest. KMart actually used to be a good spot for figures when I was a kid. And my brother LOVED that store. We used to go to the Kmart on Woodman Drive (Dayton Ohio) about every week. Somehow he’s manage to find something new he wanted. It was sad to see it go. Going there with him and my grandma will always be a cherished memory. Especially if you are familiar with my situation haha (my brother is 6, I’m 26. So he’s basically like my kid)
Sucks. And I agree with the above stated. As an employee, I’d be rather heated to see all these people flock in for the closing deals.

It's unfortunate because in a lot of areas those are jobs and stripmall storefronts that won't be replaced. It's crazy how much things have changed in a relatively short period. In the late 90's/early 00's, my parents did all of their shopping at Hills, Ames, and KMart. I had never even heard of Target, and the only Walmart was in a tiny location that nobody went to. Now there are 3 Super Walmarts within 20 minutes, 2 Targets, and none of the other stores I mentioned.

Dam the Aramingo store is closing. Yet the one outside of Trenton will remain.? Aramingo was a high volume store. What a shame.
