Follow the money. Regardless of his skills or prior performance, UFC realizes he is going to sell PPVs. Does it damage the reputation of the sport and its legitamacy? Sure...but not enough that they money doesnt outweigh it. Punk wont headline the show. They will make sure to surround his fight with some real quality ones so the "haters" will still watch.

I see his fight going on before the co main event and main event like the first time. I agree they're gonna put two great quality fights on the card to go after. Wouldn't be surprised if two title bouts are booked along with Punks fight. I dont agree that Punk should fight again, but CM Punk sells PPVs so WME wouldn't mind

I'd have put Punk on a TUF series... it would have been great for ratings and he'd probably have a better chance too.

considering he’s close to 40 and only probably has so many active years left, it’s too bad to see him not wrestle. I was a fan.
like at 39 what is there to prove in the ufc if you haven’t already?

I honestly had no idea that there's a UFC board here.

I think there's an event in Chicago soon. Im sure Dana has seen the wrestling crowd reaction in Chicago to Punk. No reason why he wouldnt/shouldnt jump on that.....Punk is still garbage though and will likely eat canvas in the first round.

I thought he was contracted for two fights anyway? He signed an 8 fight deal but can be released at anytime. The only reason the UFC hasnt been released yet is because Bellator would sign him right away if they did.

I know this kinda old, but you nailed this one. That card is loaded. He might wind up on the prelims.

At this point, I dont think he's got what it takes to win, as an older guy just stepping into the octagon, I guess its good from a company standpoint he's a big name that will draw in wrestling fans like myself.

I can understand his fight being on ppv because mma fans will buy for the other fights plus wrestling fans who normally don't order ufc shows will order to see if he got better. Please put that fight as the first fight of the main card though!

It’s safe to say Punk will return to wrestling in 2019 after this beat down.

I'm not saying he will win, but Mike Jackson sucks. Gall beat him easier than he beat punk. I'd say he has a chance.
