This is so sad, luckily the closest one to me which is the one I grew up with isn't closing as of yet. 40 Babies R Us' are closing too.
I hope they can turn things around, but I think this will be just like Kmart's situation. Probably won't drag on as long either as Kmart has.

I saw this coming but still very depressing. It's like back in 86-87 when Kiddie World closed all of its stores. I was crushed when I was 7 then. Now I am crushed at 38.

Luckily my local store and employees seem to be safe. But two of the stores I used to go to as a child in NJ are closing. (East Hanover and Wayne Hills Mall) also the Rt17 Paramus store is a store I occasionally go to. Feel bad for them.

The one closest to me is closing. Horrible news. I'd go there on my lunch break to grab stuff for my son (and me of course). TRU exclusives just went from difficult to impossible for me.

My childhood TRU at the Brickyard in Chicago turned into a Babies R Us in 2005. I was very sad that day.
That Babies R U is now on this list. That strip mall is going to looks even more abandoned now.

The three closest locations to me are all closing. At least they've been pretty good about stocking exclusives online, since that looks like my only option. The writing was on the wall - my closest location hasn't had Elites since 44, and hasn't had any of the NS exclusives in stock in ages.

My Local one is safe, but the two I like to hit on my road trips are gone. Stinks cause sometimes they stock more than my local TRU.

Didn't think my local one would be shutting down due to it being the only one in the capitol of Florida and it being a college town but alas. This super sucks, I guess I'm just gonna have to hope and pray network spotlights and exclusives get put up on the TRU online store like virgil was. On the bright side for a brief time atleast there will be a super sale and I can get some figs on the low but I'd still rather it just stay open

This sucks.
I hope this is it and they don't close more in the future.

I used to have two TRU stores within 10 mins in opposite directions from my house. One of them closed a year or so ago. The other one is on that list. This pretty much makes me exclusively an online shopper at TRU. I do have one by our office in Miami but that's something I can only hit a half dozen times a year.
The death of retail is weird. I'm sure many people around my age and older who lived through the mall and department store boom of the 80s and early 90s feel a similar way. Children's Palace, Venture, Montgomery Ward, Kay-Bee, Kmart, Sears, ToysRUs, it's just uncomfortable to see these places go away. I get that it's just business but I think we all have an attachment to the places our parents, grandparents, or whoever took us to get toys growing up. To see these places crumble is a bit like losing a piece of my past. I still remember going into ToysRUs and feeling like the aisles were packed with figures from floor to ceiling. I remember the first time I saw BCA figures and when I bought Final Fantasy VII, both inside a ToysRUs. I just think it's kind of sad we've exchanged experience for convenience.

My 2-3 that are close seem safe for now. Bummer though. I was disappointed when I came back to collecting and found out KB toys was gone. Damn kids and their Memecraft and YouTubes...

Thank God mine's safe, it's the only one in town and I go there occasionally. Sucks for them though, but hopefully Shark comes out soon enough.

The only one in my area closing is actually a stand alone Babies R Us, so I'm good...for now.

Damn kids and their Memecraft and YouTubes... It's all the Tide pod eaters out there that help make these decisions and hit us where it hurts, I swear to God!
