Takeover: Chicago was the first wrestling show I have been to in a LONG time. Almost 10 years. I admittedly didn’t know much about Bate/Dunne going into it as I hadn’t (at the time) watched the UK Tournament and it wasn’t like either guy was ever really featured much on NXT. I honestly thought it was just going to be some lame filler match. Man, was I wrong.
It was one of the best, if not THE best, matches I have ever seen. I instantly became a fan of both guys. My boyfriend, who could give two sh*ts about wrestling, got hooked into the match and was chanting with the crowd midway through.
I really wish WWE/NXT would capitalize in having such young, amazing talent and give them a place to showcase their skills. On NXT or 205 Live or even a UK based network show. What is even the point in having a UK Championship at all if nothing is ever happening with it?

I think Bate, Dunne, Andrews & Seven all need to be used more by WWE.
Put Mark Andrews on 205 Live to boost the division. He'd be a great addition and his flips are some of the best. Andrews vs Ricochet would be a match in particular I would want to see (assuming Ricochet goes to 205)
I'd be interested in seeing British Strong Style (Dunne, Bate, Seven) together in NXT and a feud with Undisputed Era would be nice.
Overall, the Bate vs Dunne feud has great matches but at the moment it feels like the UK guys just have random matches every now and then so that the audience don't forget about them.

look and style will always take precedence over real workhorses. Putting together a wrestling show requires curtain jerkers, special attractions, workhorses, and star power - that's the formula. I'm not knocking Dunne's wrestling prowess (and this is going to give me heat) but he's really not much to look at. His attire isn't flattering, his fur coat doesn't make any sense, and he looks idiotic holding his fist to his chin while he skins his mouth guard and has his straggly hair all over his face. Look I'm sure he's a nice guy in real life blah blah blah, he just doesn't look marketable in the least. I don't blame the WWE for not strapping a rocket on his back and shooting him to the main roster. You guys might love watching two short guys put on a technical masterpiece for hours, but the mainstream consumer market doesn't want to see that. Reality can be a bytch sometimes I know. Most spot on post on this forum in years.

I could seriously watch them wrestle each other for hours without getting bored. Dunne is a star waiting for someone to put a rocket on his back. Dude literally has everything you want in a professional wrestler aside from the "larger than life" physical size WWE seems to love, but makes up for it by absolutely excelling in every other aspect. He literally owned the UK Tournament early last year, despite coming up short in the finals and has been stellar ever since. Tyler Bate is one of the most promising raw talents in a long time. Needs a little seasoning in front of the WWE cameras and such, but there really hasn't been someone so young and already so good since Randy Orton first appeared. If Triple H is ever allowed to really take the reigns and make all the decisions within WWE as far as the on air content goes, I think you'll see a big shift towards guys like Dunne, Bate, and other wrestlers with more substance to their work. Until then, we'll continue to see look and style take precedence while the real workhorses are relegated to the lower and mid card ranks. True. I just hope Triple H gets control in time to make AJ Styles the WWE Champion. I’m sick of AJ languishing in lower and mid card hell because of Vince not liking his physical size.
