I understand that WWE is the all time ruler of pro-wrestling at the moment and into the foreseeable future, especially when it comes to merchandise and action figures.
But I am still surprised there is not a lucha libre action figure line.
With the growing Hispanic community in the country and the rise in popularity lucha libre had a year or so ago, I am surprised nothing came out of that.
Why AAA and Lucha Underground can't come together and create a joint branded toy line I would like to know. Granted, it wouldn't automatically have guys like Pentagon Jr, Fenix, Rey Misterio, Cage...
But just using what they have would be the start to a great line... Most of the AAA roster plus all the LU owned characters - Aerostar, Drago, Texano, Psycho Clown, El Mesias, Dr. Wagner, Mil Muertes, Catrina, Prince Puma, Matanza Plus, if anybody like Pentagon, etc, signed with the company at a later date to allow them to make figures...
If the line started small, as a cheaper alternative to WWE figures, they would have a better chance. Something along the lines of the current WWE retro figures or something like the little staction figures sold at dollar stores 4 to 5 years ago. Then given time, it could grow into the collector stuff most would want.

Playmates made a Lucha Libre USA figure line a few years back which looked similar to Jakks Deluxe Aggression. It didn’t last.

Lucha Underground by itself is nowhere near popular enough for a line by itself unfortunately (even if I like it too), but I am amazed that CMLL and NJPW don't have major lines going by now. They're the non-U.S. major leagues these days and definitely could support big toy lines.

There probably is a reason why not. It’s probably not financially viable

Voldemort is producing figures of guys from all those companies.
Still Jakks with such a strong presence in Asia and with all the know how they have on wrestling figures business, I'm surprised they don't go for a NJPW line.

Some of the LU ppl have figs in the process of being made. And there’s a NJPW line that includes some AAA guys. It’s a hassle to post pics here now, and some of those aren’t allowed here, but they are out there.

Being upfront: I have been watching s2 of LU on Netflix. That has fueled my want for figures. I have always thought many of the LU guys would make great Funko Vinyl Idolz.

Masked Republic is having a series of figures, similar to the MUSCLE figures years ago, that just recently came out. Plus Future Stars did make a Juventud Guerrera that was just released yesterday (June 5th, 2018). But I fully understand where you are coming from. Crazy to think it's been 26 years for CMLL and 24 for AAA to get a really good series of figures
