I looked like a kid on Christmas morning when all these new Hardyz were announced, when i was younger and got figures from stores, my area NEVER had any Hardy figures in stock which was always disappointing since Jeff was my favourite wrestler back then. So now with all these new Hardyz released, i feel like i'm back in 2009 again and had to get them all. I also got a second Basic 82 Luke Harper since i like to keep one normal and i'm using one for a custom Elite.
First up is Elite 57 Jeff Hardy, i wasn't expecting this to be my favourite figure from the bunch of Hardy figs but there's something about it i just like more than the rest. The tattoo work on this figure is phenomenal and the colours pop really well. The headscan is spot on and looks just like Jeff too. As for articulation, i think this may be the first figure from the past 2 years when there's no stiff or loose joints, all the joints are perfect. I recently bought some black tank tops for a custom Leo Kruger i bought and a custom Luke Harper i planned on doing, but putting the top on this Jeff also looks great for not only a current but also a 2008-2009 Jeff. My only issue with this figure is the quality control on the paint, there's a couple of smudges around the figure and the most annoying one is on his chest, it looks like he has a massive bruise.
When the Elite 1 Jeff circulated Ebay and other sites i was never able to get it, so to have this Entrance Greats basically replicate it is nice. The EG Jeff looks great and the face paint looks better in person, it looks great with or without the entrance shirt on and is a perfect representation of 2009 Jeff. This Jeff looks great posed with Elite 2 or 6 Matt Hardy, the WWE Title or just by itself. The only thing i'd really change about this Jeff is the hair, it doesn't look too bad but there's something that just looks odd about it, i feel like it needs a bit more texture and maybe a darker purple. Other than that, my only issue articulation wise is the legs don't want to go out, they'll go up and down easily but outwards they feel stiff as hell.
Though the face paint isn't accurate, it's nice to relive that classic and memorable moment from Armageddon 2008 when Jeff won the WWE Championship.
And finally the Epic Moments set, when the New Day announced there would be a 4th team involved in the Ladder match my excitement built up, but i didn't want to get my hopes up in case WWE decided to troll us. But luckily they delivered and the Hardyz came out, which was an 'Epic Moment' for me to finally see 2 of my favourites as a kid back home. This set perfectly replicates that moment as Matt and Jeff both look perfect. Jeff with the long sleeve top was never my favourite look as i always preferred the armbands, but the long sleeve tops still look great and especially this one. The colours are nice and make the figure stand out, the headscan is the same as E57, but there's a tiny something different between the two i swear with the EM one looking just a bit better, but regardless they both still look perfect. The shirt E57 Jeff comes with looks great on the EM too. Once again, my only issues with this Jeff is slight quality control for the paint apps, the tank top torso mold and the legs don't want to go outwards just like the EG Jeff, but when you're just posing it, it still looks great and the tank top is hardly noticeable.
Matt's figure looks WONDERFUL! The headscan, body choice and pants are all perfect. This head looks just like Matt with the expression and hair mold, the pants are highly detailed and look great. Posing Matt normally, deleting people or throwing his arms out all look good and just like him.
A moment forever etched in WrestleMania history, when Matt Hardy won the Tag Titles for him and Jeff on their return, what an Epic Moment.
One thing i didn't think of when i bought The Club a while back was where i was going to put them, now i have the same problem with the Hardyz but said screw it who cares as i bought a second E57 Jeff to pose with E58 Matt as my current 57 Jeff is posed with the tank top in my 2006-2007 collection, i also bought the WWE Shop exclusive Hardyz as well so until i get another cabinet, i guess they'll all have to live next to my computer monitor. Thanks for looking everyone and sorry if i bored anyone with excessive writing haha.
Just as i posted this thread, the WWE Shop Exclusives arrive, so instead of making a new thread, i may as well include them here. I had a mixed reaction to this set when i saw it, i thought Matt was great and Jeff was meh, but having it in person now both of them look great and better than pictures.
Jeff looks a lot better in person than he did in pictures for me, thought it's an uncommon attire choice, it still looks nice and represents 07-09 Jeff well, the face scan is the same as the EG Jeff and while it still looks good, this head definitely looks better with face paint on. Though it's probably my least favourite out of all the currently released Jeff's, it's still a really nice figure and is fun to pose and play around with. My only issues are (yet again) paint issues with some of the blue on the black parts. My only other issue is this Jeff's arms were pretty tight and felt pretty riky to move (but thankfully they loosened up a bit).
One of my favourite matches of all time was Jeff vs Umaga at One Night Stand 2008, while the poses aren't accurate, it was fun to relive memories from then with the two (and Jeff being in a similar attire to that match)
For me, Matt is the star of this set as he's in my all time favourite attire of his and reminds me of when i started watching wrestling back in 2007. I was never a big fan of the Elite 2 headscan but i do see Matt in it, though when i get the chance i'll be swapping with the Basic 4 head. Body choice for Matt is perfect for this time and the detail on the pants is incredible with the skulls making the camo pattern. No issues with this figure, all joints were fine and only paint issue was the hair rubbing on his back but that came off pretty easy.
Matt and MVP's team/rivalry in 2007 was fun to watch and was something i enjoyed, so it was fun to relive that now with an accurate Matt for that time.
All in all, it's a good set and a nice representation of The Hardyz from 2007-2008, since i've still got nowhere to put them they'll be sitting on my desk until i get another cabinet. 6 New Hardy figures down, plenty more to go, can't wait for V1 Matt and hopefully more singles run Jeff's in the future.
Thanks for looking (again)
