I'll do you one better, not only is Mr. Bean unfunny, but Monty Python. Why would you want to let everyone know that you have no taste?

Smartass. *smartarse You have got the internet though, you've got no excuse. Everyone go and find and watch, The Young Ones, Blackadder, Peep Show, Red Dwarf, Monkey Dust, Father Ted, Black Books and if you still think British TV is awful you're an idiot. And if you've never seen or think you don't like Monty Python then stop what you're doing and go and watch The Holy Grail and The Life of Brian. Assuming you enjoy those I'll give you another set of recommendations free of charge because I'm nice like that.

After all, you put milk in your tea, drive on the wrong side of the road, and add an extra "u" to every word that ends in "or". As annoying as the twenty minute pledge breaks were, PBS did a great job showing the British shows in the pre-internet days. That's how I saw Doctor Who, Black Adder, Red Dwarf, and Are You Being Served? I thought BBC America would be a more reliable source but as I said earlier, all they seem to show are reruns of American shows.

The only TV series that I've watched religiously that are still on (other than Big Brother/Survivor stuff and WWE):
Doctor Who The Walking Dead Game of Thrones Rick and Morty Cloak and Dagger Star Trek Discovery Fresh Off the Boat (think that got canceled) Atypical American Horror Story House of Cards The Librarians
Now older stuff that's been over for a long while that I watched either live or thanks to Netflix:
Dexter The Sopranos Dark Angel True Blood Angel Leverage Warehouse 13 The West Wing The Wire MASH The Tudors Farscape Being Human (UK) Black Books Mad Men Survivors (UK) Hemlock Grove Torchwood

bad guy™ I'm surprised Eureka isn't on your list. That show was IMHO the best show SyFy has ever produced. Twelve Monkeys is a close second.

For what it was, it was OK, but I've never gone out of my way to watch it. Same goes with Haven, and you'd think I would have flocked to that when Edge got a regular role the last couple of seasons.

I enjoyed Haven for the first season or two when it was sort of a quirky less dark X-Files but in the last season or two it went off the rails heading into Twin Peaks "Red Lodge" territory. It was cool seeing Edge and Christian on the show though.

It's tough selling British comedy to people from outside the UK. It's not as broad and accessible as US stuff, and for the most part it's pretty cynical or just silly. I've always preferred the cynical stuff myself, though my childhood is founded on the more stupid stuff so I have a soft spot for certain shows.
My girl friend is French/Croatian and most of the stuff I've tried to get her into she just finds annoying.
Peep Show is perhaps my favourite British comedy of all time and on showing it to her she said "It just makes me feel uncomfortable. It's all of the things I find annoying about English people."
Haha. She's right. She also probably secretly doesn't like me either.

Holy Grail was my gateway drug into Monty Python, and it's still fantastic, but I more often than not gravitate toward their sketch work for a quick laugh - Ministry of Silly Walks, How Not to be Seen, Gorilla Librarian, and stuff like that tickle me just right.
Mel Brooks was mentioned here. Thank Christ. If we were lacking in reverence there, I may have had to quit early.
F*ck Doctor Who, with only the minorest of minor, minor, minor consideration given to Eccleston, who, by the by, nabbed my attention via America programming first anyway, so nyeah.
To that end, f*ck Heroes after season one.
We only have streaming on demand services, so I haven't watched television as it airs in over ten years.
Our go to "background noise" programming is either The Office or Arrested Development. I tried Walking Dead. It was awful.
The only thing I ever binged on Netflix was Breaking Bad. It's amazing.

Season 1 of Heroes might be the best single season of a multi-season show. They crashed that plane into the side of a building with the subsequent seasons.

Dexter peaked after season 1 until John Lithgow was introduced in Season 4. The show ended horribly. Quite possibly the worst series finale ever. Also True Blood season 7 sucked, other than when Tara died, worst character ever on that show. All she ever did was complain and bitch the entire show. Hemlock Grove's final season was great. Big fan of that show and it's very different take on the supernatural.

Here is an idea of the shows I would consider my favorites. Sopranos - Favorite show of all time. I sit down and watch the complete show once a year, every year since it ended. I cried when James Gandolfini died, the only death of a celebrity that has brought me to tears. The dynamic between family and mob boss is what hooks you obviously. But watch the show and you will understand how it saved HBO when it premiered. Ray Donovan - Seriously, everything about this show is great. Liev Schreiber is so amazing in this role and Jon Voight is such a lunatic in the show, you wonder where the line is between reality and fiction. The writing on this show is phenomenal. The Wire - I didn't appreciate The Wire until I watched it a second time through and realized just how much I hadn't paid attention to. The authenticity of this show is unreal. I have had friends who grew in Baltimore who talk about how that show hits close to home for them. Archer - I don't watch animated shows very often. South Park and Beavis and Butthead were the extent of it after I hit my teenage years until I watched an episode of Archer. The obscure references to random things were what drew me in. It was just so vulgar and smart at the same time. Justified - I read the stories this show was based off of long before it came around. When I heard it was based off of Elmore Leonard's works, I got curious. Then I watched it. Between Timothy Olyphant being an absolute badass and Walter Goggins proving he is one of the most talented actors in the world, I was hooked. Outside of Peaky Blinders, I have not found any British shows that hit my sweet spots like those above do. I love The Office, US version. Can't stand the British version. I don't know why, British television to me is the worst. Drakz gives me sh~t because one of my favorite movies is Football Factory with Danny Dyer. I can get into sh~tty hooligan movies so it isn't like I dislike all things British. I mean Legend and Bronson were both amazing but that might have to do with Tom Hardy being in both movies. The Sopranos is my favorite show of all time. Love Justified. Boyd Crowder is my spirit animal.

Boyd wasn't supposed to be in it beyond the first season but everything got changed with how popular the character got to be.
