Honestly I hope they do have something else for Cena at WM. Taker needs to stay away before he tarnished his legacy anymore. Two WM loses is two too many.

Yeah, makes sense. Cena loses matches left and right throughout 2017 until now. Then he beats the WWE Champ clean. Don’t see any faults with this at all. Cena had to put the wwe champ through a table to win. That's not clean.

Not only the losses but his performances in general. We criticise a lot of people for not knowing when to walk away from the business and he’s become one of them.

He hit an AA and it happened to be on a table that Cena didn’t even set up. On another note I know it’s been beaten to death but why hasn’t anyone ever told Cena that he’s killed the credibility of finishers? Nothing new for him as he’s been doing it for years. But someone please show him Savage/Steamboat from WM3. Lots of close calls, which Cena loves, but there’s one big difference...they didn’t kick out of 50 finishers.

Yeah but he sort of knew where he was positioning Styles. It wasn't coincidental. Mark my words AJ gets the win back at fastlanr by pinning the part timer

Good episode. I was going to semi-sarcastically say they should just put Rusev in the Fastlane main event at this point, but I dunno, if they do Nakamura vs. Rusev at Fastlane that's pretty good.

I am already preparing for a Styles-Nakamura singles match to not live up to the epic smark hype. With a complete lack of effort in its build; to an hypothesized spot in the initial hour of Mania (aka the AJ Spot); to the chance their time is held back or cut, resulting in a rushed, utter disappointment of a program. With all these other guys floating around the title now, I'm just waiting for Creative to select the official Turd in the Punch Bowl, denying similarly-minded fans of the most appealing match to them on a card already dominated by headlines grabbing acts and the "status quo" of WWE's idea of top stars.
To be fair though, Cena and Shinsuke did have a pretty good match a while back, a simple bare bones match that could be the frame for a stellar outing for both men if properly fleshed out (assuming John succeeds in winning the title, a feat admittedly much more prestigious than to be relegated to a Fastlane). Also, it would be pretty hilarious if Cena-Nakamura is set up, then Taker returns and challenges AJ.

At least they had AJ behave honorably, trying to allow Cena back in the ring. Meanwhile the evil Cena resorted to an underhanded shortcut in pursuit of a devious count-out victory.- For shame, Cena.
They make AJ lose so often for a world champion!

Solid Smackdown with a stellar main event. Cena getting into the main event at Fastlane makes it more fun. I'm glad they went this route instead of having him challenge Nakamura for his spot.
The Daniel Bryan/Shane stuff is so awkward anymore.
And for the love of God, could we get that awful record scratch OUT of Ziggler's music!?

Last night was an extremely poor booking decision. I don't care how good the match was. AJ Styles is your top guy on Smackdown and WWE Champion and he can't beat John Cena? Seth Rollins just beat John Cena after he beat Roman Reigns.
Wins and loses matter. If you don't want Cena to lose, you don't put him out there against AJ Styles. You sure as hell shouldn't want your WWE Champion taking a loss six weeks out from WrestleMania. John Cena winning last night devalues Nakamura vs AJ. Period. It's psychology. The audience has now been conditioned to view AJ as inferior to John Cena. And if AJ can't beat John Cena, why should I care if Nakamura, or anyone else for that matter, beats AJ Styles?
It's really not hard to understand. It's apparently impossible to execute from WWE's perspective, though...

I don't see John Cena winning at Fastlane and becoming WWE Champion...so really, this is not going to help him in his (kayfabe) quest for a match at WrestleMania. If anything, this is probably a business move to try and improve viewership for Fastlane because anything Smackdown these days has been tanking in the ratings and viewership, so adding John Cena, a proven draw, is just a calculated business move because nobody in that match except Cena is really WWE Championship material at the moment. Cena adds name value.
But again, I believe he walks out of that match without the title and still needs a match...this is where they will either circle back around to The Undertaker (I hope not), or the plans for Cena's actual opponent will become clear. You'll still have 4 weeks until Mania after Fastlane, so that's enough time to build a credible feud.
