So I know some people have gripes about "such and such persons arms would have looked better on *insert wrestler here*" or "this persons body type is wrong" but I can't say I personally take too much notice of that
But even the biggest critic has to admit that 2018 is already looking amazing with the recent reveals at the toy shows + the fan central ones shown today on here.
Genuinely the choices mattel are making for what wrestlers to do in what era and the schedule they're putting them out at is phenomenal!
Then we have the sets like heartbreak hotel...man they're really outdoing themselves and we're still in the first quarter of the year!

Totally agree. There's certainly validity to many of the frustrations. But when you step back, I think it's hard not to be impressed with what Mattel has produced. The line is like all of my wildest dreams as a kid come true. WWF and WCW wrestlers in the same style with the same articulation. I used to make a steel cage from taping together my mom's cookie cooling racks and made the Heartbreak Hotel setup out of construction paper. Add in the work they've done with current superstars, where you have figures of almost everyone on the roster at a time when the roster is as large as it's ever been, plus the NXT figures? It's hard for me not to be impressed.
With what we've seen so far this year, I'm really excited for what 2018 and 2019 bring, and hopefully quite a few years after that as well.

If mattel could, not perfect, but improve the use of the parts there'd be far less complaining. It wouldnt even be so bad if there weren't already the correct parts available. But yeah, some really good figures already announced

I was planning to buy less figures this year, but it's impossible. Damn!

I started collecting again towards the end of last year after seeing the Retros line. After seeing some of the upcoming releases, I’m glad I started up again, I’m definitely hyped for what’s going to be available this year. I can understand some of the points about using different parts, but either way Mattel will be hurting my wallet.

I have no issues with recent reveals other than the fact there are so many exclusives and sub lines that make it tougher to collect and harder to keep track of.
It's hard to get too excited for new reveals as god knows how/if/when they'll get a release outside the USA.

For me it's more of a year where I'll be saving a lot of money, possibly more than I ever had with the line. I'm actually happy because my wallet is taking a break and others who want the figures could get them. I mainly want some wcw figures.

There are some great figures, no doubt - but all the sub-lines and store exclusives are making it very collector unfriendly and hard to keep up... especially for those outside the US. It's kind of difficult to get excited over figures you know you have NO chance of ever finding and will have to end up paying stupid prices for...

And it appears as though some scanning of the current NXT talent happened this week. I'm pretty sure one of these guys walking by is Bill(wait for it). I think they are carrying the base of the scanner. Bill was at the NXT Ocala show last night, so he was in Florida. https://www.instagram.com/p/BfyfcfwH6Ah

Wrestling shop have a lot of the exclusives for those of us in the uk True... but they are just as expensive (if not more so) than getting them off eBay/scalpers. They're better than the bay. The walmart exclusives are going for £30-£35 on the bay, but £25 on wrestling store I find wrestling store to be ok as over £100 it's free postage.

True... but they are just as expensive (if not more so) than getting them off eBay/scalpers. They're better than the bay. The walmart exclusives are going for £30-£35 on the bay, but £25 on wrestling store I find wrestling store to be ok as over £100 it's free postage. Well, even with postage and import fees, you can get a set of those MOC Walmart figures for about £75 on eBay US. And all Wrestling Shop's Elite exclusives are either £38 or £40... plus postage. Not to mention £80(!) for things like the Bash At The Beach 3-pack and £60 for the Wild Samoans 2-pack. This isn't a knock on Wrestling Shop - I appreciate that they're a business and am pleased they're around. But at the end of the day, they're just as expensive as other options for UK collectors and don't really help with the whole US exclusives problem.
