I was in the US last week and was disappointed that the newer series hadn’t made it onto the high street in San Francisco whilst I was there - I was hoping I could walk into Target or GameStop or wherever and select the cleanest cards possible, but the only Retros at all that I could find were two guys from series 3, which I’d had for seven months. I regretted not just ordering from Ringside and getting them delivered to the hotel, but I managed to get a couple of MOC Hasbros so it wasn’t a wasted trip I asked Steve Ozer at Comic-Con about both the US and UK distribution of the line, and he said that the US retailers like Target had already received stock of the new guys but hadn’t put them out yet (presumably because of unsold stock of series 3), so given that SDCC was a few weekends ago now then they’ve been sitting on the new stock for a while now. I know nothing about retail, but I’d have thought putting out new stock might revitalise the attention given to the existing stock and maybe swift some more of them than just leaving them on the pegs garthering dust whilst the new stock gets bought by customers online, but what do I know... He also said that they would be offering all the new guys to UK stores if they wanted to order them, and mentioned that it would be up to Smyths if they ordered them but at least UK online stores would carry them. I mentioned to him that I had had an email reply from Mattel UK saying that they wouldn’t be bringing series 4 or 5 across here, but series 6 would come across, but he said all series would be made available, so seems the reply I got to my email wasn’t accurate. Interestingly he also said that the Retro releases weren’t grouped into “series” as far as they were concerned (he even asked me what guys I meant by “series 3”), which might be a reason why series 5 are appearing before series 4. I don’t know, to me it seems pretty clear if you are releasing four guys at a time with those four appearing together on the backing cards, with in some cases there being months between sets of four being released, then you’ve basically got series releases regardless of what you call them, but it’s not important I guess.

That's ass-backward if Target really is sitting on waves 4 and 5 while 3 is rotting on the shelves. This is why I barely buy anything in brick and mortar stores anymore aside from basic groceries.
Almost anything else and more times than not I'm no a wild goose chase. Toys, Blu-ray, CDs, clothes. Can never find what I'm looking for. I'll just buy online and get what I want without the time wasted.

You would think someone would have enough savvy to bring them out. That said, the recent Target “reset” consisted of downsizing the WWE section by about 40%, so who knows what the plan is. Hopefully they just all end up at Ollie’s by Winter.

Any word when Series 7 will ship from Ringside? September ...and my Mattel basic HBK head will be here waiting for the swap with my extra. Can't get over the articulation on that face. The Mannix line was closer lol.

Any sign of the new guys appearing in stores in the US yet?
I’m debating what I’m going to do about series 4 - I’ve already sourced series 5, but finding series 4 with Ric Flair is looking like a problem. Ringside doesn’t have Flair listed any more, and a couple web sites here in the UK don’t have Flair up to backorder compared to the other three from series 4, and one of those sites has Tweeted that they won’t be getting any more of the fourth series. If what I was told at SDCC is correct and the likes of Target have stock to put out at some stage then grabbing a Flair will be a lot easier, but if that’s it for the production of series 4 then I’ve got a decision to make as I don’t want to miss-out on Flair.

Series 7 has been delayed until November by Mattel. Yep, late November. I got the same email from Ringside. We had a good run this summer all things considered. Doesn't mean anything bad for the line, but it would have been nice to get them sooner. Now I have something to look forward to in time for my 30th.

Series 7 has been delayed until November by Mattel. Yeah it says late November now on ringside. I guess they need to push it back so they can spend more time ignoring what people want and trying to figure out what else they could do to completely decimate this line. What's that? You want old school wrestlers? Ok here's an app add on that will unnecessarily jack up the price. And here's a Fin Balor to go with the two versions of Kevin Owens that hasbro collectors have been dreaming about for years. Oh you though we did a piss poor job with distribution of series 2? Hold my beer as we completely cripple the line with series 3, making sure series 4 and 5 are impossible to find. Down the line when they get rights to Hogan- here's a Sami Zayn repaint. And good luck finding it.

Hopefully Series 8 won't be too far behind S7, much like Series 5 and 6 came out in rapid fire succession.

I would love to support this line and buy multiples of each figure for loose/card display but it’s damn near impossible and I’m tired of driving around trying to complete the sets. Infuriating, really. Maybe series 4,5, and 6 will show up and warm pegs for nine months like series 3 has. Better than never finding them?

I just hope we see a lot less of the kick-action. I think the overall sculpt just makes the guys look like Hornswoggle and we saw very few Hasbro figures with any kind of leg articulation. Only Bam Bam, Earthquake and Typhoon that I can remember-and if you want to count the stomp action. Hell, even Yokozuna didn't have it for his Banzai Drop lol. And I always thought the classic Hasbro figures looked great with just the fixed pose legs. I was really disappointed to see the new Shawn with it just so they could give him the Super Kick action. I was really hoping to see him finally with the Hasbro prototype look for the body and maybe his blue or red gear from the Jakks Superstars Series 1 and 2 figures.

Series 7 now showing as early January on Ringside.
You would think they would be desperate for pre xmas release?

Series 7 now showing as early January on Ringside. You would think they would be desperate for pre xmas release? Originally listed for August right? Extremely disappointing. You'd think they would realize people are just about ready to say f it with this line. Terrible job mattel.
