cause crap, i can hardly find any listings at all on ebay theres only 2 that i know of, and they are 100 to 300 bucks... i was lucky to get this one for my birthday along with a few other stuff cause i pitched it to my older brother but didn't actually think he would get it for me. 3 things i wanna say about it though: 1. i wonder why it says it was made in 2010 when i been wanting this thing since 08.. 2. why is it also mattel? if memory serves me correctly they didn't take over until 2009 so i always thought this was a jakks ring 3. how much was the retail price for it back then? cause i heard you could get them for 30 at big lots.

I don't think you could have wanted it in 2008, unless you're thinking of Jakks real scale rings. If memory serves correct the Mattel Elite ring came out in August 2010 and retailed for $59.99.
By 2011 it ended up at Big Lots for $30. I picked an extra one up for like $20 black friday that year. To me it's the best ring ever made.
As far as it being rare, I'd say sought after is a better way to word it.

It says 2010 because that was when Mattel started making WWE toys and that ring was originally a Mattel ring. They ended up scraping it after it failed at mass retail. It was either $60 or $70 at TRU in 2010. They ended up selling the molds to WCT who has been producing it since.
I am pretty sure I got my second one on Black Friday for $10 when Big Lots has it as a door buster sale.

Not a ring buyer here, but I am curious as to what makes this ring so desirable? What's the differences between this 2010 OG vs the more recent elite or actual scale rings?

It was really only desirable before the WCT version came out..... once that was regular (using the exact same mold) most hardcore collectors didnt care anymore since we had a good new ring. I have this ring, its pretty cool but the WCT rings are essentially the same

I believe the first Jakks one was the Kmart exclusive with Piper and Hogan figures, which I remember hearing everyone complaining about because of the Ring posts caving in. The next one was the RSRV2 w/80s cage I think Then of course the real scale elimination chamber and hiac sets

I have the authentic scale ring, and I like it but it definitely seems a bit too big. I also preferred the Jakks ring mat. Seemed thicker. I had the Mania 2 Jakks ring with blue cage. Kind of preferred that one over the WCT one. Though, the WCT seems more durable.

I snagged one off eBay for $300 bucks which was the cheapest I could find it for. A few months later the Authentic Scale Ring was announced. It was the same damn molds. I'm still a little pissed about it.

You're thinking of the "Jakks Official Scale Ring". I have the original one, which was a Wrestlemania 1 ring. Before they started packing it with a Hulk Hogan figure.

wat makes it more sought after is the fact its made by Mattel. I still have mine. no plans to sell it. its nice having the original ring.
