It was announced Y2J is replacing Rusev against Taker and the Greatest Royal Rumble event.
Thoughts?
Could it be punishment for saying "bury me softly"? Or could Rusev be put in another match that we know he'll win? Find out next week on dragonball z!

There's already a thread for this PPV discussion but yeah I like the idea of Jericho better anyways. Been wanting to see them fued since Y2J became the Undisputed Champion

I think Rusev Day is getting over and WWE didn't really expect it. He's pretty popular as a face right now and moving t-shirts, and having him get killed by Undertaker on probably the biggest event in recent WWE history is not a good thing for Rusev. This will be seen on the WWE Network, not some house show in a crap town.
Jericho is a legend and can lose in 2 minutes and it doesn't put a dent in him.
Just slide Rusev into the battle royal. He's not winning, but there's 49 other dudes, some with major credibility, who aren't winning either.
I think it's a good move by WWE.

Putting Rusev in the match was a stupid idea to begin with. At least with Jericho, Taker doesn't have to be senselessly beating a full time roster member.

People always wanted a decent Taker/Y2J feud, so this works.
I'll leave this here till it gets enough eyes, then I'll merge it. That way more people know, and we avoid too many duplicate threads from other people.

If theirs and issue with that TMZ interview from the WWE side of things I don't get it.He's pretty much in character and doesn't say anything bad,what that Taker is past his prime no crap he's 53.He still called him one of the all time greats.
But on a side note it would be in Rusev and Lana's best interest to find someone to get out from under the WWE.Rusev is a main event caliber talent and the total package any other promotion in the world he would be treated as such.But the WWE only gets behind a select hand pick few and hates now days when you get over with the crowds with your own ability's without the WWE machine behind you.

You can't diss Taker!
When Taker is 90 years old, rolling to the ring in a wheelchair, the 22 year old guy he is wrestling will still lay it down for Taker. It's just what you do when it comes to Taker.

Y2J vs Taker is a better match anyway. Maybe they’re planning to have Rusev in a different program or maybe (but probably not) win the Rumble.

It's better if they put the Russian in a match he can win in Saudi Arabia instead of one you know he will lose.

Bigger match on paper. Jericho can lose in short order without it mattering, plus if Taker is taking one or two bumps in the match it's better this way. Jericho is generally considered a pretty safe worker. Rusev is a bit rougher
