Friend of mine said you have to lock up at the beginning of a match, and another friend said you didn't. Anyone have any info on this?

I never locked up I usually shot in for the legs or waited for them to shoot and then I sprawled

yeah man you dont have to tie up right away. you can circle or wait for a shot, or or for a shot, or fake, etc.
