Interesting. I wish they'd incorporate toy sections into their existing locations on a permanent basis.

I don’t know why Mattel doesn’t put WWE sections in home improvement stores, as well. Ever drag your kid(s) to Lowe’s kicking and screaming? If they had a toy section there, it’s not as bad bringing kids.

This is very smart. Get juniors birthday party supplies and gift all in the same place. They need to be wise and only go after brands and lines that actually move.

Back in the day there used to be a chain called Toy City... the logo/mascot was a giant Panda... I remember the one in Winnipeg was great... always stocked so well!!!

Hopefully they have one at my area and let’s hope it looks like an actual store and not like the ToysRus Express stores

Sounds like they'll be like the pop up Halloween City stores they have in fall from what I read. They said they would open around the same time as those and would be open until Christmas.

Halloween City/Toy City is listed as coming soon in the mall directory and taking over the space where my Toys R Us used to be. Party City is the leader in pop up/seasonal retail stores, but they usually use about 50% of the space they occupy and theyve never sold toys before, so I am skeptical as to whether this can work out. Mattel better start making some sales calls to them.

So am I correct in assuming that it will just be a Christmas season pop up in malls? That’s not too exciting if that’s the case

If they're gonna markup prices 20% just like TRU did, then they can take their toys and stuff 'em. Good riddance to TRU.
