I think my favorite year is 2016, I’ll give reasons when I’m on my computer and not phone!

In my opinion. It's getting better and better. Sky's the limit.

2016 when Bálor, Nakamura & Samoa Joe etc were on there. I never missed a weekly show.

2015 was like NXT's Attitude Era. You had Joe, Balor, Owens, Bayley, Zayn, Enzo and Cass, The Vaudevillains etc.
2016 was great aswell with the arrival of Nakamura and Sanity but it was also the year where it lost Balor.

Imo it’s only declined since then. 2014-2016 is still prime NXT to me and that doesn’t look like it’s changing anytime soon.

What marks are saying 2012? I was wondering how did people watch NXT in 2012? We (the UK) didn’t have the Network until 2014 so there was no legal way to watch NXT for us prior to that IIRC.

I honestly don't think they've had a bad year. Some transitions have been bumpy, but that has to be expected.
But if I had to answer... My favorite time was 2015. Loved seeing Sami finally win the NXT title (Dec '14) only to have Owens attack him. I thought they had magic with that storyline leading into the new year. It gave me an NXT high that I still haven't come down from.

I went with 2015.
To be honest, 2015 was a really good year for NXT, WWE, ROH and even Impact was pretty solid then.

I've watched NXT on and off since 2013 but really started watching it regularly in 2017, so i went with that.
Out of all the years, i feel like 2017 has the most future stars in it, that'll carry WWE though the next 10-20 years. Black, Dream, McIntyre, Nakamura, Roode, Ohno, Gargano, Ciampa, Almas, Sullivan, AOP, Undisputed etc...
It was also the first year where NXT felt like a real big deal, selling out the same arenas as other PPVs (Excluding WrestleMania obviously)

Although I'm still catching up with NXT (after starting watching every single episode a few months ago, having not watched any at all prior), and only halfway through 2017 episodes and yet to watch any 2018, I feel like 2015 was probably it's highest point, though I don't think it's had a single bad year. Every year has had something making it worth watching.
But with 2015 you had the Four Horsewomen, Zayn/Owens, Finn Balor, the arrival of Samoa Joe and Nia Jax, the return of Rhyno, the formation of American Alpha, two of the best shows of any company that I've ever watched (Takeover Unstoppable & Brooklyn), my favourite match in the company's history (Sasha/Bayley at Brooklyn), etc.
I could go on. But there were so many great things about 2015 NXT.

2015 was on a different level than what came around it. This year has been the closest to that imo, arguably even better from a strictly in-ring standpoint. 2015 has that first love feeling to it, though. The rise of what made that show special was us, the audience, falling for WWE's version of indie wrestling for the first time. So that's time and place. That being said, Ciapma, Gargano, EC3, Ricochet, War Machine, Aleister Black, Undisputed Era, Dream, Ohno, Pete Dunne, Moustache Mountain, and Donovan Dijak is waiting in the wings. The women have reloaded as well but making Baszler a monster is kind of stunting the speed of their growth.
So yeah, 2015 with 2018 following closely behind it. I think a major difference is the current guys are getting more opportunities on a bigger stage than that 2015 crop. When NXT went to Ft Pierce to wrestle in front of 300 fans in a high school gym, they brought everyone. Balor, Itami, Sami Zayn, Sami Callihan, Kevin Owens, CJ Parker, Neville, Enzo and Cass, the Revival, Sasha, Becky, Bayley and Charlotte. Everyone. The main stars have outgrown the gym shows nowdays. So I still think that's part of the magic that was happening in those 2015 years.
