I actually got into watching wrestling because of the women (Luna Vachon, to be specific). I’ve watched WWE since around late ‘98 and have seen the women basically used as nothing more than eyecandy (even the talented wrestlers like Jackie, Luna and Ivory) to be in evening gown matches and gravy bowl matches (can that even be considered a “match”?). There obviously have been moments where the women seem to get credit. Such as the Golden Era. They seemed like an important and popular part of the company without it being pushed like some kind of PR agenda. But anytime they get momentum, the rug seems to be pulled out from under them (Golden Era to the Diva Search Era), which is why I have always considered women to be the perpetual underdogs of professional wrestling. NXT has done a really good job of making the women’s division (and every other division) matter and it’s a really cool thing to see. Obviously once anyone from NXT comes up to WWE, they are ruined almost all the time. So I was really excited about an all women’s PPV at first...but after hearing about the confirmed and rumored matches, it just seems like a typical WWE mess and I almost guarantee people will just blame a poor PPV on the women. Alexa Bliss vs Trish Stratus. I understand the idea they’re going for in this one. Trish is probably the most popular female to ever be in WWE and Bliss is the current most popular. It makes sense for what WWE would probably assume the fans see as a “dream match”. Bliss is a great character, but lacking in the wrestling (though she has improved) and Trish hasn’t wrestled full time in...12 years if I’m correct? So yeah. This will probably be a mess. Mickie James vs Lita. They feuded for a bit over the Women’s Championship leading up to Lita’s retirement and if anyone else remembers their matches, they had ZERO chemistry. Why would they even do this match? Lita looked pretty bad in the Rumble but she never really looked that great as a wrestler to begin with. Mickie is a veteran and doesn’t need the rub from Lita. I just don’t get this. Rumored: Ronda Rousey vs Nikki Bella. After Cena/Bella broke up, the WWE wants Nikki’s neck to get permanently broken. Hooray. What a joke of a rumored Main Event. Rumored: Brie Bella vs Maryse. A call back to the dreaded 2 minute match Diva Era. Would anyone even care whether either of these two never stepped foot in a ring again? I wouldn’t mind them having AJ Lee return to face someone like Sasha Banks or Bayley. Definitely have Charlotte vs Becky for the SD Women’s Title. Beth Phoenix vs Asuka maybe. I just honestly don’t know what they could do to make this PPVS worthwhile with WWE’s booking.
First of all if not for Lita AJ Lee would've never gotten a chance to do her crazy schtick. And 2011 wasn't 12 years ago lmao, Trish will be fine. they all will be. and AJ's neck is shot to hell so virtually no chance of her coming back.

"First of all", Lita never had a crazy gimmick, that was Mickie. Trish retired after Unforgiven in 2006. Which was...oh, twelve years ago. She hasn't been a FULL TIME wrestler since then. And yeah, AJ has damage to her cervical spine, plus there's the whole Punk thing, so yeah, she'll probably never wrestle for the WWE again. So you're one for three. Kudos. Radimus is right though. This show is being booked like crap. Lita and Trish are supposed to be selling points, but Trish hasn't wrestled full time in over a decade, and Lita has the charisma of a wet paper bag. The main event is going to be between someone who has taken a decade to even be considered somewhat serviceable as a wrestler and someone who has barely even wrestled in ten professional matches, yet is the champion.

If there is 1 Main Event and 2 Semi-Main Event matches, this one would def be in the top 3!
It just makes more sense all around. You get the Trish/Mickie moment, Trish going toe-to-toe with Bliss, incorporate Lita/Mickie going toe-to-toe, and we see either the original diva besties get 1 last shine in the spotlight, or we see Alexa score a win over one of the 2 Legends, helping give her a slight rub.

"Lita has the personality of a wet paper bag" huh, i thought the Bellas had the personality of a wet paper bag
and while we're on the subject of the Bellas, the one good thing aboujt that Nikki Bella v Ronda Rousey match is that Ronda will potentionally kick the ever-loving crap out of Nikki Bella

Lita has the charisma of a wet paper bag, the Bellas have the personality of one. don't forget the Bellas have the charisma of one as well
but to be real with you, i would argue that when Lita was wrestling full time, she was more charismatic then either the Bellas combined, ever since she stopped; it's particularly a thing that occurs to people in their profession

Literally none of what you said made any sense, whatsoever. Lita never had a crazy gimmick at any point in her WWE career. If it weren’t for Luna and then Victoria and then Mickie, I suppose you would have made more sense then. Trish retired in 2006. Period. If AJ can’t come back, that’s fine. But the PPV is sounding like a hot mess when this could have been a chance to actually showcase a solid women’s show that proves they are capable of drawing and having great matches. It’s really, much like lame gifs in response to a perfectly valid opinion from someone that has been watching wrestling for around 20 years, a joke.

YAWN Yeah, once they started announcing all those names, I wasn't crazy about it, and still am not. I think there's plenty of women on the current roster to build a 3 hour show around, but it seems WWE must not have that much confidence with the current roster to do that with. In my opinion, that's not a true evolution if they're having to go back and grab names from the past to make-up the card.

The only thing I'll say about the PPV right now is, why Nikki Bella? She wasn't the only one who attacked Ronda. Why couldn't Brie get the title shot? Did something happen backstage off-camera where Nikki challenged Ronda or something? And if so, she could have just challenged her for next week's RAW instead of waiting 3 weeks for the PPV. This just really doesn't make much sense. I don't recall a match ever being set after such a weak "attack." They've always spent a few weeks talking about it, and THEN setting up a PPV match...

Considering Ronda may have injured Bliss and Brie almost injured herself and Liv, I think WWE is trying to keep the potentiality for injury low in this match. Regardless, I'm rooting for the Bellas for the first time in my life.

Alexa is getting buried isn't she? I wouldn’t call getting to team with a future Hall of Famer to take on two Hall of Famers being buried. She can’t be in the title picture all the time or people will sour on her.

LAMFO at the main event of Evolution. Being Ronda Rousey vs Nikki Bella who is everything wrong with women's wrestling. I think Moolah fits that category better.

I don't think that's what's wrong with Women's Wrestling, but it certainly doesn't say much for this supposed Evolution of women's wrestling in WWE. I think a better example of the movement would have been to have a re-match of the real 4 Horsewomen in the main event for a title.

The main event should be a heel Charlotte vs a pissed off anti authority Becky Lynch. I disagree. I think the best main event would have been to have built up Charlotte, Sasha, Becky, and Bayley into another fatal 4-way like they had in NXT. I think that is the only way WWE could have truly shown the best representation of their evolution of women's wrestling.
