I have been debating on adding some of the new female Basic figures to my collection but are they a decent play value compared to the previous Elite style ones?
I don’t play with any male Basic figures but it seems like the female versions have more moving parts so I thought I’d see what people thought..
Their sculpts so far actually look better from what I’ve seen, thicker arms on some where appropriate and less bikini tops with paint to make them look fuller like was constantly happening..

Female Basics used to have Elite articulation and Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Emma had some great Basic figures. Elite females often came with an entrance coat that was hard to remove and made them unplayable in a match. With the new articulation now, they are almost like statues.

Only reason I buy new Basics is for head swaps.

Current female basics are little better than mcdonald's toys. Stick to buying the older female basics, and repaint them if necessary.
Play value...kids are happy playing with rocks and mud, they're probably fine with the current lack of articulation lol

Either hi tech or low tech with Mattel figs in the middle. There's an idea: a Sticks and Rocks freemium mobile game. Make a purchase to upgrade your sticks and/or rocks, $1.99 per.

That would only work if you can buy cosmetic scarves for the rocks, and only if it didnt give the rock an unfair advantage over other rocks lol

Thoughts on current female basics? Garbage. Thoughts on regular current basics? Also garbage.

Besides the articulation there needs to be better torsos or parts that are different sizes. You can't just have the charolette,aj and nia torso for there to be when making a female basic. Just look at that billie kay,or alicia foxx . Needs a few not alot but better torsos and leg size to make it seem legit rather than the same old women's toy again but with new head and colors.

Dana Brooks new basic is miles above her first one, besides her though I'd stick with the older basics.

I rarely buy 2 of someone so i just have the older elite style basics. I would get them if they made newer characters. The only one i plan on getting is the upcoming Ronda basic

The Nia Jax basics are the best figures Mattel have ever made But losing the ankle movement is dumb ass move

Speaking of the new articulation, is anyone else finding it EXTREMLY difficult to bend the knees? My brother has gotten a lot of the new ones and I can’t bend the knees at all. It’s like you have to break it out lol. I’m almost afraid to do it because I could only imagine snapping on right off.
Tbh I don’t think I’ve bought any of the new females yet. I’m not finding any that interesting to buy. Mattel has a pattern of doing this to articulation though. The cheaper Barbies lack articulation and are made of a really weird hollow plastic. Same with Monster High. They used to have cheaper boxed dolls with the same articulation and simpler clothing. Now they are down to a few movement point and the clothes are just plain bland!

I just can't believe that in almost a DECADE that they have no changed the hands/wrists for female figures. The hands are awful and due to no wrist swivel, the hands are at a very awkward and unrealistic position/angle.
They need to fix this, but I doubt they ever will.

All the female figures have pretty terrible play value compared to the male figures. They’re just too small and their articulation is very limited, even the elite versions. Ths also makes them very fragile compared to the male figures.
The new basic ones are much sturdier due to the limited articulation. And since you can probably find them for 10 to 11 bucks, it makes for a better deal than a $20 elite with a different kind of limited articulation and posability. I’ll only buy elite female figures now if they come with a championship that I want. The female figures make great valets or managers, but they won’t be doing any cool moves or poses.

I am a "female-wwe-figures" addicted and I stopped buying female basics after the last Eva Marie...

I think the last Alicia fox basic is her best figure. The lack of articulation sucks, but it wouldn't be a big deal of it wasn't there to start with. It's the fact they took something away that's pissing people off.
It's not a good thing to take away, but if we are to believe the cost crisis Mattel claims, they had to. Raising prices to keep articulation would anger just as many people. I'm blessed to not be in this position, but some people struggle to afford basics.
Sometimes in life there isn't a right answer.

I hate the lack of articulation on basics. I only got the Flashback Series 2 set, and will get Booker, to build my friend JJ Dillon.
