It’s a niche product. I fully expect them to be canceled soon. This is exactly how the legends line ended. Quietly after there were no new series for several months People WANT to buy these. The problem is they aren’t showing up at retail It’s niche. This board is a very small percentage of their market and not everyone here wants toys from 1991. I’m sure there’s a large number of people here that want them and I hope it continues but it’s a niche product of a niche product.

The problem is they aren’t showing up at retail Because people stopped buying them when the price shot up, most of the releases have already been bought up by discount stores, if something doesnt sell youll gradually stop seeing it for sale obviously.

But I don't think it's necessarily comparable. The Legends line had a lot of costs - they had signed wrestlers to individual deals, were still doing a lot of new tooling, and included premium accessories. The retro line has basically been reusing the same few molds with new heads and very limited deco. At a $12-15 price point, there's probably a lot of profit on each figure. Ultimately it's the profitability, not volume of sales, that determines whether toy lines live or die. That's why we keep seeing monsters, zombies, etc. even though the figures never seem to fly off the pegs.

Quietly after there were no new series for several months I agree, it's a niche product - but Bill did say recently that they have big plans for the Retro line, so I wouldn't think it'll be getting cancelled anytime soon. They're probably just working out how best to move forward, since the distribution and marketing/character choices has been all over the place...

Why are people saying these are niche? How are cartoony style figures of the biggest names in WWE niche? Its not a niche product, its an overpriced product and an over engineered product, take the stand out, close the app down, reduce them to 8.99 or even 9.99 and you have a line that would fly off the shelves, Mattel, you are welcome

Just going based off what I saw in my area obviously, but these sold very well at the original $10 price point up until Walmart started getting backlogged because of how the first series was split into two waves. The stand/app does nothing for anyone. I have never heard anyone talk about whatever the hell app even goes with the stands. Lose the stand/app, lower the price point back down, and get these back into Walmarts, and this line will sell again.

...urm, yeah - that's the idea... urm, yeah - I know. But you didn't quite understand the context there... I get it, they are an inferior version of Hasbros. Less detail, less attractive and flimsy packaging, no accessories, too much reuse of same molds. It feels like an imitation, but a cheap imitation. Has so much potential though if they would re-evaluate they're approach. Like everyone says, get rid of the app and stand, lower price, more legends etc. And they need to get them into stores.

Like maybe 5%. When did Hasbros come out? 19 freaking 91. I wasn’t even alive yet. Not even everyone here wants them. They’re a niche product within a niche customer base. It’s great that y’all want them but they don’t have mass appeal. At all.

Most kids dont have a clue what Hasbros are, these are just toony versions of their favourite stars, where does it mention Hasbros on the packaging or say that they are a throwback to the 90s? Thats right, nowhere, they are fun figures, for kids perhaps too young for basics and elites, they are not niche, not in the slightest, in fact elites would be considered more niche, as the market for them is more limited due to the price point

I went to 4 Targets since last night. All of them had Retros warming pegs. It not a popular seller. So many Ambrose and Rollins and Goldbergs...

It has very slight potential. Nostalgia. Sure, take out the stand and the app and lower the price. Can't hurt. But too many people are making these out to be more than they are. Period.

The fact that kids don’t know what Hasbros are is exactly the point; they made them for collectors, a small fraction of their market, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS A NICHE. Now that that’s out of the way and you understand now, have a lovely day. :3

They are made for kids predominantly. They definitely arent niche.

I'll have to keep posting pics every time I go to the store just to prove they are peg warming No question on the tons of Series 3 they have and keep putting out at the Targets in my area. Have you seen any of the Series 4 or 5 yet at any of them? I could see New Day peg warming maybe but I'd be kind of surprised if the Savage and Flair did.

I have 3 Targets within an hour from me and series 3 has been bogging down pegs for months now. Haven’t seen any of the new series yet.
