It would be awesome to see a new store devoted to toys. The big box stores only have these toy sections as a convenience it seems like and don't care about regularly stocking anything.

If KayBee or TRU do open new stores, the only thing they'll have in common with the old companies is a name and logo. It'll be an entirely new company, new management, and probably new approach. But they'll have the benefit of a name and brand that people associate with toys. When these topics come up it seems like sometimes people think they'll just be a continuation of the old company. It's basically just the intellectual property - everything else will be built from scratch. It may be great, it may be terrible. But more buying options are always a plus as far as I'm concerned. It looks like the first step in TRU's comeback is partnering with a Midwest retailer to do a store-within-a-store concept called Geoffrey's Toy Box. Also, their Twitter account removed all references to the liquidation sales from earlier this year. www.charlottestories.com/toys-r-us-emerging-from-bankruptcy-as-re-branded-geoffreys-toy-box/

If they re-appear in Puerto Rico they should at least open 3 main stores, one on the metro area, one on the west and one on the south. That will help with the profits as people will have a variety of places to go.

I dont understand why stores dont operate their online businesses the way supermarkets do, here in the uk anyways, where online grocery orders are picked from the shop floor, thatd save warehousing costs, staff from the store can pick orders so nobody is ever without anything to do, the order comes through and is directed to the store nearest the customer, checked against stock, ir in stock picked and packed, if not redirected to the next store, warehouse space i know is expensive, this would cut that cost

Geoffrey's Toy Box? I like the old gimmick better.I don't see why they needed to do a repackage.

I sometimes wonder if this new TRUs would be more successful if they carried half the inventory as they use to. The old TRU always had old ass crap, crap and clearance crap. Maybe if they focused on big name brands at a decent price tag with smaller buildings it would help.

It is going to be a limited amount of stores in the Midwest that get the product. I work there and am aware of it. Still good news.

If I give TRU's lenders and creditors some money, can they give me a box that says Geoffreys Toy Box on it so I can sell my toys in the street?

Why bother? Online retail is killing brick stores. It’s only a matter of time before they’d close again. I’ve said in other threads, 91% of retail still happens in brick and mortar stores. You could see everyone rushing to get a piece of the market share Toys R Us left behind from Party City and Wal Mart/Target to KB trying to come back, but none carry the weight of the TRU name.

The KB Toys comeback appears to be on ice. Stores should have been opened by now for the holiday season. I knew I would never see a KB Toys ever again.
