I have heard Mattel designers talk about the added cost in plastic with a Yokozuna figure because of the size ... so if that is the case I am curious why Mattel is making these large stiff - non-scale 12-inch figures? Is that not significantly more plastic? If the WWE Mattel scale action figure line is the best selling action figure line and they branched out to do retro Hasbro too and other items I am curious why they are going in that direction too? I wish them well of course ... but my interest continues to be in NEW first time appearances of Elite scale figures from the past and present. Mostly the past. And I will go for the Hasbro line too but not the 12-inch stiff figures. Are those 12-inch figures a big deal for you? I have seen them with Marvel and DC now too. Thanks for your input.

I don't wish them harm. I just don't understand it. They are number 1. Keep it coming. Why go to a more expensive figure?

Its said a lot on this forum, and i mostly agree, Mattel make toys for kids, 12" figures sell really well, see Marvel and DC, there are probably 50 Marvel characters from Hasbro and 30 from Mattel for DC, so they already have molds for bodies, legs and arms, which is why they look a bit weird, so it would be stupid for Mattel NOT to make 12" wrestlers, the WWE line is the biggest selling action figure line, so the more options available, the more kids want, doesnt mean i like them, but i completely understand why they make them. They arent aimed at you, as an adult collector, so you wouldnt see the point, you arent supposed to, they obviously sell well as they have been doing them for a couple of years now

Well if you look at it those figures are cheap made Hollow plastic and no articulation in the arms elbows and the knees don't bend and they all are the same scale and same body mold the only thing they have different is there face, affordable figures for whoever want them especially for the kids and all the other companies are jumping on the bandwagon DC Marvel even Disney.

Because they’re going to be at a different price point than a 6” Yokozuna

It's a different product and price point. But because all the figures are designed to be relatively identical, the cost is probably pretty similar on each 12 in figure. With Yoko, the price point was already set and he is significantly bigger than the standard figure, thus more plastic and cost.
I think the 12 in figures are geared more towards much younger kids (maybe ages 7 and below). Sort of like how the oversized Lego blocks are meant for younger audiences than the normal sized Lego sets.

12 inch and basics/battle packs for the kiddies. Elite's for the adult collectors.

Maybe the articulation and weight is the price point difference but a 6 inch to 12 inch is still a lot of plastic. Thanks for your input!

Maybe the articulation and weight is the price point difference but a 6 inch to 12 inch is still a lot of plastic. Thanks for your input! I don’t think its so much the plastic increase but the 12 inch have less details/less paint apps and articulation. My guess is added Articulation joints & paint apps cost more then more plastic.

It's the same reason a 6-inch plastic figure is $25.00 while a big plastic lawn chair, which uses 10 times the plastic, is like $5.00
Less moving parts, less molds needed, no need for paint deco, no need for elaborate packaging, etc., the costs/savings add up. Even the item's portability affects cost, you can stack like 100 chairs and they don't take up much more room, you save on shipping expenses. If you stack 100 packaged figures, that can take up a lot of space on the boat/shipping container.

The True Moves figures are mostly hollow with limited articulation, and reused parts with limited tooling.
And, as always, it's a different line, so it's a different budget. The True Moves figures take nothing away from the Elite line.
