Much like Edge, who was inducted very shortly after his career ending injury, Paige will be going into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2019. With the Women’s Evolution being such a primary focus of their marketing these days, and Paige’s role in the raising of standards for women’s matches, it is pretty much a sure thing. The timing of the movie about her life and career coming out right around Wrestlemania time, it seems like the perfect time to do it. You can say that there are other people more deserving of the female spot in the HOF lineup, but Luna, Sable, Chyna, Molly Holly and even Torrie Wilson deserved to go in before Ivory did, so that logic can go out the window. It’s about timing, and the time is right for Paige. I would actually like for them to commit to their dogma and induct more than one woman, with Chyna being the posthomulous induction as well. Get both of the XXX porn performers out of the way in one year and move on from the subject. It’s going to happen. What do you think?

Rose colored lenses my friend, Torrie was light years more popular than Ivory ever was. Two time Playboy cover girl, massively over. Ivory had one memorable gimmick as part of the RTC, other than that she was just a heel who could talk. She was only an active competitor on the roster from 99 to 03 roughly. Torrie was in WCW in 99, then stayed with the WWE until 2007. I know what I’m talking about.

Ivory got the HOF rub because of the popularity of the Netflix GLOW series and the perception that she was some sort of mat technician......she wasn’t. She admits this herself.

While I empathize with her and feel bad she can’t do what she loves to do anymore, she is not HOF worthy. Not even slightly.

Ivory got the HOF rub because of the popularity of the Netflix GLOW series and the perception that she was some sort of mat technician......she wasn’t. She admits this herself. Ivory was pretty good compared to everyone else in the women’s division back then. She had several years in the business and had a pretty big match against Chyna at WMX7. She definitely paved the way for a lot of the women that came after. Paige was active on the main roster for what? 2 years and change? She didn’t really live up to the hype she had in NXT. Her biggest moment was probably her debut, and that’s not HOF worthy.

The Women’s Division when Ivory was around and a regular character on TV was dogs****. Her “match” with Debra when she won the title the first time was a joke and barely worth watching, then she traded the belt with Moolah at 76 years old in a series of embarrassing matches, then she lost her title to Miss Kitty in an Evening Gown in a Pool match. RTC was her biggest break, and that match against Chyna at WMX7 was a terrible squash. I’m not saying she wasn’t enjoyable, I’m saying people have an obscured view of what her run in the company actually looked like.

Just because she is in good standing doesn't mean Paige will get an immediate induction. I thought for years JBL was a shoe-in but that never materialized.

You just compared the most decorated superstar in WWE history, an 11 Time World Champion, who spent most of his 13 years in WWE making a massive mark on the business between TLC, 5 second poses, KOTR, MITB, live sex, and main eventing WrestleMania... to Paige. A two time Divas champion who spent a large portion of her 3 and a half year main roster career either hurt, suspended or not having good matches.

I loved Paige when she first arrived in WWE. Thought she was the future. Unfortunately things were derailed rather quickly. Some of that was her own doing and some was from the company she was with. That being said, I don't see any comparisons to her & Edge besides their injures. And I honestly don't know if Paige has earned her spot yet. If she remains with the company as an on air personality, maybe someday. But I dunno man.

I'm sorry, but there's not enough coke between her and Del Rio to make me think she's HoF worthy. And I like her, too. Tbh though, the HoF is a joke. So its really whatever.

Also don't forget the whole deal with Maddox/Woods, the drama with Del Rio and all her other controversy. How could anyone in their right mind compare her to Edge, especially when for half of her run she looked like an anorexic emo allergic to the sun. Paige will obviously go in the HOF one day, but 2019? Wassup Wit Dat.

If Fighting With My Family turns out to be a sleeper hit I have no doubt Vince will put her in and capitalize on it-regardless of what anyone things about how worthy she is.

Sadly Paige will probably go into the Hall of Fame in 2019 and it will have nothing to do with her in ring career.
The movie based on her Family is scheduled to come out around that time.

Well Ivory's timing was perfect since GLOW on Netflix is a popular show at the moment. So you can't critique Ivory's induction if you are using the movie as a reason for Paige. Also, Torrie had no real impact on the business. She could never wrestle and she was simply "eye candy." I enjoyed Torrie while she was around but I cannot campaign for a HOF induction for her.

I didn’t say Ivory’s induction was invalid, I said it was timely due to GLOW’s success, and it’s never a case of how deserving any person is (by the way, Torrie is going in the HOF no matter what any of you say. If they keep putting one a year in then Eva Marie should get inducted in about 2056.), but what narrative they are trying to push with them. They are going to build Paige up as the best thing to ever happen to women’s wrestling, put in her in the HOF and then put the movie out and hope it turns out for the best at the box office. The HOF just.......doesn’t mean much anymore. It’s a promotional tool.

So, is this your gimmick now? You make a hot take thread, say "what do you think?", and then argue with everyone who doesn't agree with you because you "know what you're talking about"?
I think I actually prefer tg11's threads. At least we can sit there and watch him run color through four or five pages.
