After seeing the first reveal of this Black last year, i knew i'd have to buy it, fast forward almost a year later and he's here.
Like almost everyone else is saying, this figure is a piece of art, this is easily figure of the year so far, the tattoo detail is beyond incredible with every little detail there.
Aleister Black from head to toe is amazing, it's almost like an exact micro version of him, the headscan captures him perfectly and the FX looks perfect. His beard is done perfect, the eyes and eyebrows are printed perfectly and he even has his lip ring, which is painted silver, a very small detail that makes the head look much better. They even got the small moon tattoo next to his eye, which isn't just a little bit of paint slapped on there, it's actually a moon shape. His attire is pretty basic but still works well, the logo on the back is done well and the boot detail is good.
Accessories are standard but needed nonetheless, he comes with an elbow pad and his entrance jacket, which has plenty of detail on it and looks incredible on him. I'll leave the elbow pad off him as it gives him some more articulation and shows off more tattoos.
Now, the tattoo work... Mattel misses the mark sometimes, they mess up quite a few things but in this case, they knocked it out of the park! Every. Single. Detail. is there, the colour and picture detail is spot on. For so many tattoos, you'd think they'd skip a detail or two, but nope it's all there. Even the phrase "Overcome The Past" at the top of his back tattoo is there, which was so small it even took me a moment to realise what it said. The colours make it pop and really stand out, every colour is there. His back piece is simply incredible, the detail in that might never be matched by any other figure, every little detail is there. Simply amazing.

NEGATIVES
- The body is questionable and probably the only negative, Aleister Black is 5'11 - 6'0, when he entered the Rumble, he towered over most of the guys in there and yet here they gave him a generic Daniel Bryan body, which is tiny. Bryan is around 5'6 - 5'7, so this body choice is a huge mismatch for Black, and even comparing him next to my E38 Bryan, the Bryan figure is just taller than him... They should have given him slightly longer lower legs to give him the accurate height.
The torso choice is slightly off but not major, the Matt Hardy style torso would have suited Black so much more but the Bryan one is acceptable, though for the future a Matt Hardy torso would be much much better.
Also with this torso, like many other figures with it, it suffers from the dreaded stiff left arm, i've had my E56 & Top Picks Styles break from this, my E59 Miz semi-break from this, and my SS '16 demon Balor semi-break from this.... Thankfully it's not as bad as the previous cases but i'm still being really careful with it at the moment until i can heat it up and try fix it. The fact that this torso still has this problem is pretty sad.
----------------------------------------
All in all, this figure is one of Mattel's best works ever, it's easily figure of the year so far and might even stay that way until they really knock something else out of the park. Everything about this is perfect aside from the body choice but it's not the end of the world, i know the way to make him taller by swapping the lower legs but i don't think i'll risk messing him up, so i'll keep him like this.
Here's a pic of Black and just how good he looks when posing and messing around with lighting and stuff. I have more pictures of this Black figure and many others in my collection on my Instagram, so jump over there to have a look, leave a like and follow, that'd be greatly appreciated.
