How's the hunt for store exclusive figures?
My luck is terrible and my local stores are just as bad. I went to Roanoke Target a few weeks ago and left with nothing in figures. They had shelves full of NXT: Rusev, Roman, Bobby Roode. No Aleister, Ruby, Drew, Dain...
My local Walmart(Covington VA) is really bad at stocking and getting new exclusives in. Never got:
TNF with Seth, Liz, American Alpha Flashback basics(JJ Dillon) Flashback elites(HBK Commissioner) Fan Central Survivor Series Wrestlemania 35(recent but probably won't get)
Went to Lexington VA Walmart a month or so ago and they had 2 Fan Central Daniel Bryan figs and Bobby Roode Survivor Series only..
Store exclusive figures should be renamed "Make this guy buy them for higher prices online" cuz that's what I have done to get NXT Ruby Dain Drew(haven't been able to get Aleister yet), FB basics, Fan Central Carmella Akira Mojo

As much as I dislike the strategy I’ve had some success by being alert and patient.
I got Backlund of wwe shop Found dunne and Wolfe here in Australia
Now here in lies the issue, I’d have bought all these normally but can’t justify paying 3-6x retail each for nxt elites, Sherri and the rest coming in the future. I’d have bought all of the Harley flashback wave also. As a result I’m buying less figures. Mattel done feel that immediately as they sold their allotment of all these figures. Eventually though there will be a trickle down in my opinion.

I don’t speak for the majority, but I’ve been able to get everything I want rather quickly and painless so far. Except for one I guess, if we’re going back to the Survivor Series figures. Bought the AJ on Mercari, but that could also be described as quick and painless. $30 I think I paid.

Also got Gold Standard Benjamin(bought the regular Benjamin on RSC when it came available).. The big exclusives never came around there so far....

The FB Elite set with Race I found two full sets months ago. And at least two restocks between the three area stores where I got there to see all but Race left on the pegs and those were gone before the week was over.
The Fan Central Elites and Basics I saw plenty of all at one store (except DB which was only one) and picked up two of the Sting Vs Taker BP. Went back two days later and all except Mojo were gone.
I never saw the Elite set with Styles, Roode and Bliss though.
I have seen at least 8 case of NXT Series 4 figures at one of my area Targets over the last few weeks. I have seen two Dunne figures between two other Target stores.
At one WalMart I have seen two Backlund figures and then a Sherri this past Saturday. So with the exception of the Roode I have seen all the exclusives I have wanted so far.

Found every single one. I love the store exclusives. I am a huge fan of them and hope that this is their new permanent plan to get us these types of figures.

I found Pete Dunne and Sherri
I still need to find the 3 logo Warrior, Backlund, SvS Heritage Elites, FB3, FC2 Elites and BP, and NXT4.
There's enough of a discouraging gap that I just want to give up for a while and see if I still care by Xmas time.

I ordered Backlund on WWEShop when it was posted in error.
I haven’t found any in store yet. Thus, making me more annoyed than ever with Mattel because their district is still garbage.
I’m even more annoyed with the fact that the last NXT Elites haven’t shown up anywhere either after finding the first 2 series without issue. Bottom line is that Mattel has terrible distribution on WWE elites and retros and I’ve purchased 4 figures in 2019. In 2018 I bought more figures the first week of the year than I have in the first 3+ months of this year.

I’ve found one Pete Dunne and Aleister and Ruby from NXT 4. Need the other two.
I also found the Shelton chase but not Hawkins. Don’t really care about the Basic chases but I think I’ve seen them all.
I haven’t seen Bob or Sherri, I know they showed up at least once.
No Flashback Elite 3 or Fan Central stuff or Survivor Series.
I’ve taken a lot of worthless trips and it’s not fun. The people like PJ who are lucky enough to find all this stuff and dismiss the rotten distribution are a bit self-centered.

I get the feeling the figures aren't distributed evenly to all the stores, and they don't order new stuff until a certain amount of stock is left, that's why if WWE isn't a big seller in our neighborhood then some of us never see the rare stuff. For example, my local Target hasn't gotten any new normal elites or core figs in forever. FOREVER. But they seem to be getting 1 new case of NXT4 at least every week. Another example, my local Target has never ordered the new wave of Lobo Wave DC Multiverse figures, but they keep ordering the older Luthor Wave, because they're on clearance and keep selling through. I love the store exclusives. I am a huge fan of them

We have some serious WWE fans in my area (Maryland).
Shelves are always hit or miss here; I'll get lucky here and there (I found 2 sets of NXT Series 4 within a few days of the first sighting), but I'll also walk into stores with picked through shelves.
I tried my luck at Walmart right before WrestleMania to find an Elite 64 Curt Hawkins, but I only saw like one of the Usos from that series on the shelf.

First WWE hunt in over 2 years, wanted Sherri. Found two between 6 stores. Most stores just had leftovers from old waves (Big Cass, Dude Love, etc). Only two stores had the WM display but they had random junk placed on them.

Just speaking for this year, batting under .500. Found both of Walmart's, Backlund 3 times (bought one) and Sherri once.
Even got a Maryse from Walgreen's a couple months ago, first one I've seen.
Targets, hug 'em. Have none within 50 miles of me so I'd likely be beat if I bothered with them. Got NXT4 off an auction after trying for a month to nab them on Target's site. Still waiting for Dunne somewhere, be it cheap auction or whenever the hug Target lists them online!

Eventually though there will be a trickle down in my opinion. This is exactly what Vamp55 and I were saying in the "Sensational Sherri" thread the other day (see below). I think it's the same for a lot of international collectors... You didnt pay Mattel $61.75 though, they dont control what you pay a secondary seller, Mattel got the same amount they get for every single other elite they sell the stores, it has zero effect on Mattel, you dont buy from them, they already sold the figures months ago I see what you are saying but think about them as units. I brought 1 unit (over priced from the secondary market) for the price (give or take) of 3 at retail. Not because that unit has increased in value over time, but because Mattel has made decision, rightly or wrongly to under produce that unit. And now, because I only have a limited budget, I have to pass on the other 2 units I would have brought (had I not been required to over pay for this unit). So while yes, Mattel has made the sale on the figure - what have they missed out on? In this case it’s the likely sale of additional units. Not complaining - just pointing facts. I am buying less figures cause I have to be more selective due to the market Mattel has created. Ditto... for years I used to buy EVERY single Elite figure released - and quite a few Basics too. Since all these store exclusives and chase figures though, I have to budget accordingly and be far more selective... I'm probably down to 1 or 2 Elites every couple of series - and most of the money I used to spend in stores/on standard Elites is now being spent at specialty stores and secondary market sellers (for the rare/more expensive figures). So Mattel are definitey getting MUCH less money from me than they used to.

I can quite easily see Mattel not caring as they have sold the figures, I just think it’s short sighted as while some of us will hunt eBay and pay over the odds others will drop off.
