"Company A should lower their prices because people are just stealing them." Never mind if the company lowered their prices, they would no longer be making a profit and the entire point of being in business is completely defeated. This "opinion" makes absolutely no logical sense. But I guess if you look up the definition of opinion: a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge, it fits. But by all means, keep on doing you man.

I’ll take this over those “professional” plain-clothes security following people and peeking through clothing racks.

I'm digging this "troll who says outrageously incorrect things" gimmick. I'll buy your shirt when it comes out. But on a serious note, no. This is absolutely in no way the "same difference", and it says a lot about you if you actually think this way. Like...a LOT. 2 things....number 1, I’m not what you call a “troll” on here & number 2, I do believe the rules for this board are very clear....everyone is entitled to their OWN opinions without the sarcastic labeling (troll who says outrageously incorrect things) & without being under attack....You are not above the rules just because you have 5 stars & you can be reported....keep stepping Last Dude, I ain’t the one You need to lighten up. You are entitled to an opinion. And we are entitled to tell you when your opinion is ing stupid. There are times when trolling is better than admitting you are serious. This is that time.

Pretty soon, I'd say it's going to be strictly online. Or Walmarts is going to have to start hiring people to sit near the toy section to be right there to help customers. Its crazy, sucks a few bad people have to ruine a good thing. This wouldn't be a bad thing imo. With all the distribution problems and lack of being able to find anything decent at retail to begin with. Now your going to need to pay an employee to open a case evertyime somebody wants to buy a toy, or even look through to see if there's anything in stock they want? Just go strictly online and be done with all this BS. I can assure you, they aren't going to be paying anyone extra to open the cases. They'll just give someone that works there already the keys and tell them to watch it.

That's terrible. How would you even take the time to look through them? With an employee standing there with a key? That's not awkward... That's kind of the point. They dont want people to steal, the toys are probably one of their most stolen items.

LOL Some people here are so desperate to pin every last little shortcoming that comes with figure collecting on Mattel that they're now pinning store shrink (which, for those of you keeping score, is a variable metric that varies from store to store) on the manufacturer. Never change, WF. Sorry for the triple post, but its obvious most members here have no idea how retail works.

I know there won't be an employee dedicated to the figures, but everytime whatever employee needs to deal with people wanting stuff from the case, that employee is being paid for wasting their time on figures instead of doing whatever other job they are tasked with.

So just happened to stop by the Philadelphia Mills Wal-Mart today to find this? That's my son staring at the chromia transformer he has been looking for. We tried to get help but no luck. No one would help us up front and no one ever came. Just wow. We gave up after 30 minutes or so and I got him one on ebay for a few extra bucks. This seems like a terrible idea but what do I know. I live in Langhorne, so i barely go up that way, i usually go to the one in Tullytown. or Neshaminy but WOW. i know Philadelphia Mills is a dump of an area, that TRU used to get hit hard. and of course its walmart, employees are like cockroaches, once you enter the area, they go running

This is that time. The Last Dude was just reported....I can do the same for you too if you’d like 😃 Go ahead. Please. They wont punish me. It's called abusing the reporting system. You cant just report everyone that doesnt agree with you and expect results. I'm gonna exercise my rights again, and tell you that is also ing dumb.

I am in no way as hard on theft as most here, because I was young and broke and dumb once. But no way can you blame the company. That's crazy. Agree 100% with you. However, if elites were on blister cards there would likely be less theft and it would be easier to spot switches

No packaging will stop a determined thief I didn’t say it was fool proof, I’ve seen basics ripped out and the card laying on the shelf. But it would reduce the occurrence of it and they’d spend less money on packaging that could go to something else. I throw them away anyway so making those big boxes is a waste imo

If you guys want to hash it out over a nice, private message, have at it. I'll even provide the links: forum.wrestlingfigs.com/conversation/new/21983forum.wrestlingfigs.com/conversation/new/21787This isn't the place for it. Any additional back and forth is getting straight up deleted, so be forewarned.
Back to the topic at hand... I have no desire to check my local stores, but I think something like this would all but kill my interest in ever going back again.

I haven't been back to my Walmart in weeks so I don't know if they did this switch yet. But it makes me even happier that Target is stocking new Retro figures and hopefully continues to so that I'll have yet another reason to avoid Walmart at all costs. On the plus side maybe Dollar Shave Club will start offering a deal to get monthly action figures too since they always use razors being under lock and key at stores as their selling point lol.

Perhaps if some figure prices weren’t so outrageously expensive these days there would be no reason for people to steal them & therefore no reason for lock & key....Imo part of this is Mattel’s fault No, it's not their fault that product is being stolen because they charge a certain price on figures in order to make a profit. Your statement is asinine.

What’s unfortunate is, across the country, Walmart is doing this with other sections of the store. Most notably, the African-American hair products. It’s enough to have their employees following people, cameras plated at eye level blinking away, now this?
