www.google.com/amp/s/whatculture.com/amp/gaming/yukes-announce-brand-new-wwe-2k-alternative-video-gameSo...speculation time. There's several ways this could go. Whether they choose to go modern 3D graphics or cartoony 2D, this will be interesting to see. A. Original roster and promotion(s) like Fire Pro. B. Still WWE, but realistic like 2K or arcade like All Stars...or a mix like the SmackDown games. C. They're All Elite (unlikely), signing with any of the top indies, or making Wrestle Kingdom 3. D. They're bringing back AKI. Whatchu guys think? Competition and options is sorely needed in the pro wrestling game world, so I see this as a huge positive.

It’s probably gonna be an arcade style non licensed digital only game for around $20.

Come on Crush Hour 2! I still need to hear Triple H asking me who taught me my moves.. my granny? Wouldn't it just be el dandy if this new IP turned out to be a brand new 14 inch plasma mobile WWE game?, it wouldn't be the first.

I wish they'd do a No Mercy follow-up on the Switch, as porting the current gen game onto it is never gonna be a viable option.
I'd also really like to see the old GM Mode become a mobile game.

I mean, 2K and Yuke's had a pretty public split (they did the old 'they're gonna provide support with the engine' bit but what I'd heard is that Yuke's were basically done with it from right around the time they went public with wanting to make a new game) and Kenny said AEW would have something to announce by the end of the year regarding a video game so there's a chance the two are related. Now, how the rumor of Kenny and friends tracking down the former VPW team plays into this, I'm not exactly sure but we could be on the cusp of a really exciting time for wrestling games between this and Spike trying to land more licenses for Fire Pro.

I don’t think Fire Pro getting more licenses adds much excitement. It’s been the same game for 25 years, it’s super customisable, and the art style means CAWs are just as good as having the real characters in the game would be.
