Just my opinion here but I think mattel is dropping the ball with the chase figure idea. Every chase so far I have seen on pegs multiple times, except aiden English oddly enough. These pieces just have so little different from the standard issue that no one really seems to seek them out. Gold Shelton was really the only one but that was because it was tied to his prior gimmick. Granted funko does the same where some chase figures are just boring but others make them must have pieces over the standard issue. Mattel hasn't made any chase yet that I can think where people seemed really excited to try to get one versus the standard edition. What does everyone else think on this?

I feel the complete opposite. I like that most of the chase figures have been subtle variations. It's a second attire and something with some added rarity for those who want it or happen to come across one in the wild, but also not something that's so in demand that it's a scalper's paradise ala the store exclusive figures. Having some variation while still being something that you can realistically hope to walk into a store and find on a shelf is the perfect balance, imo.
If something has enough demand where it's considered a "must have," then it should get full release. I really like the chase figures as subtle attire tweaks that will help move some of the lower demand figures that otherwise might be pegwarmers.

Why would you want another thing in complete demand we have to chase. It’s something special for those that want it or find it but most of us can live without. I think it’s great for what it is.

Benjamin worked great because it represents a different part of his career, but simply having different attires works great IMO. Completely different colored attires for Hawkins and Jeff Hardy is what it should be like for everyone. The small, subtle differences for KO, Aiden, and Mabel I agree aren’t that good for chase figures. And with KO, it’s just a different shirt. Maybe on a special occasion they will make a chase be more than just color differences, but for my liking they just need to keep doing them like Hawkins/Hardy/Benjamin and not KO/Aiden/Mabel.

I personally don’t care for them.

The Benjamin warmed a bit here. Never saw Hawkins.
I don’t understand the English chase. Wtf is the difference besides the scarf? That one was a bit lazy.

I like the idea of it. I thought I wouldn't at first but I really don't mind it. I only have the variants of Shelton and Owens but I will grab Mabel as well when he is in retail.

My favourite Chase was when Jakks gave out real metal "gold" championship belts. I still have the gold Heavyweight Championship that came with an RA Batista. Love it. People comment on it in all my videos.
Wish Mattel did a chase belt variation.

I wanted the Gold Standard and regular Benjamin, but other than Benjamin they haven’t released a wrestler as the chase that I cared to own either version of. Other than that there’s been no issue with them.

Still seems like a real stretch for a chase. I don’t know who they could’ve given a chase to in E65 but English wouldn’t have been my first choice. It seems like they’re giving the chase figures to the B List stars.

I never saw Backlund or Sherri at retail. I had to get them through Trades here. Heck I really want Liv Morgan and Pat Patterson but I probably won't see them at retail.

That Aiden English chase should have been the regular one. The standard figure is so plain with nothing on his tights. He very rarely wore plain black tights during the Rusev Day era this was based on. It should have been the chase tights with the standard scarf. You either get the design just on the tights, or just on the scarf, rather than both like it should be. It irks me! lol
Mysterio should be the next one, since you can get away with the same exact attire in a different color, like Benjamin and Hardy.

its meh. but I agree im glad there not some scalpers paradise. because if I do infact want a chase at some point then its not to hard to find. But I do think maybe a different color attire could be used like Hawkins.. Mabel could of been in all gold like the Jakks figure or even in the original MOM design (even though that may be a little more drastic). But overall its whatever.. I think they should've prob just used the spot for a person who could use the spot tbh. we would go easily from 6 elites to 7...but instead we have 1 person getting 2 elites in one set. that would be my major complaint. infact I wish they would just up the number to like 8 elites in a set. lol.

I think the chase figures are great. I've seen almost all of them in stores, and could have gotten them if I wanted them. I like that we can get different attires for some wrestlers who may not get another figure soon.

The different attires, same figure chase is fine. It's just the retailer exclusive chase that gets a lot of "collectors" irate, myself included. Some collectors don't mind as they have decent restocks at their local Target or Walmart. Sadly that is not the case country wide.

They don’t bother me too much. I’d definitely prefer a LITTLE more of a difference than what we’ve got with English and Owens. I think Hawkins and Shelton were good examples - either a different gimmick that may not need a totally new figure (Gold Standard), or a different color palette. I don’t hate the English or Owens ones either, but they’re definitely a little less incentivizing as far as the desire to hunt them down goes (says the guy who went out of his way to find both).

I personally like it, but I do agree that they should be more different. I like Shelton had a completely different look. I wish they did more of a MEN ON A MISSION Mabel look instead of 2 King’s (yes yes I understand the hair length wouldn’t be perfect but I don’t really care I highly doubt this will ever be made otherwise). Basic I could care less about.
