I've always been a fan of Finn Balor aka Prince Devitt and he's had a lot of great accomplishments, but doesn't seem to get enough credit for them. I've always wondered if he didn't bother becoming a Pro Wreslter how different would things be without him, because to me I think he was the spark that started it all.
- Created Bullet Club and made it one of the most popular factions in Pro Wrestling - NJPW became popular because of Balor and Bullet Club - Bullet Club = Omega and Young Bucks - Cody Rhodes Joins Bullet Club and meets Omega and Young Bucks - Cody Rhodes and his new friends start AEW

Someone else would have started something somewhat similar that would have got just as popular and attracted outside talent.

It's like saying 4 Horsemen without Ric Flair, Evolution without Triple H etc. sometimes the person makes the faction and Balor was Bullet Club.

Ideas and gimmicks from wrestling's past are always recycled for new audiences.

Wasnt it Karl Anderson AND Balor that created Bullet Club?

Wasnt it Karl Anderson AND Balor that created Bullet Club? Balor was the one who came up with the name, from what I remember Balor said he called Anderson late at night about the name for the faction and Anderson said "Bro I don't give a s**t".

Eh, if he wasn't a wrestler, he'd be working for Cirque du Soleil. Or he'd be a Ryan Seacrest impersonator.

I think everyone is forgetting the most important feature the wrestling world would be missing right now without Balor:
Kevin Dunn's closeups of Finn's package during his entrance.

I agree with you. This entire wave of momentum started out of what Anderson and Balor created from their friendship. Balor was as responsible for the NXT wave of momentum as any performer you can name, as well. He's been a big time catalyst for the shift in the wrestling landscape. All the while, he continues to be one of the most marketable characters in all of wrestling. He's a really special talent imo.
But yeah, it's one of those "one decision could change your entire life" type of deals. Balor creates BC, it gets hugely successful, and then the Elite, like the Wolfpac before it, is born into something new beyond the original concept. I don't think AEW exists without what Balor started with the BC. So much of what Cody got over post WWE was due to the credibility, Independent street cred if you will, that the BC leant him via Japan and the Bucks, and really his programs with guys like Cole and Omega.
I'm not taking anything away from Cody, The Bucks or Omega, because they absolutely deserve all of the credit in the world, but I'm willing to say that without Balor creating the BC, making NXT hot, proving to WWE that his type of wrestling is marketable, there is no All In, Tony Khan's money, or AEW. He was the spark that started a fire that continues to burn hotter in the wrestling world away from WWE.

And he's floundering in the midcard while his buddies run a company. So who's the real genius.

Swear to God he looks like one of those aliens from They Live. To me he looks like Mater from Cars. If Finn wasn't a wrestler, he'd be modeling. Simon Gotch said he actually did.
