Hey guys, sorry I live on Long Island so already got my Retro Series 10. Now as a quick note. Being a kid has the Hasbro series was out, I was most looking forward to this series pretty much for the Diesel figure, has most of us in our 30's been waiting just about 20 years for this figure. I sort of wish Mattel would of made the board color orange in honor of the rumor orange set the original Diesel figure was suppose to be release on. If anyone has request for pictures, I will be home later can upload some more. The whole series as a whole. Matt Hardy. Now as I said from day one with this Mattel Retro series, I like what they have done with keeping things very basic with paint detail as there was plenty of Hasbro who paint detail wasn't all out. I will say I wish there was a little more paint detail in the pants. Maybe another color for the pockets. I may even buy one when they get to retail and color in the hair, and a little Attitude Era Hardy Boyz seeing Jeff is a little more Attitude Era than Matt is. Oh and Matt has the same leg kick that Jeff has, which I do like so he can do his diving leg drop Next is JYD. Great figure, I do love the detail on the figure, I forgot to take a picture of the back, but it does say thump in red. It has the same motion as Cena. As for this figure, I have the same feeling as when I got The Iron Sheik. I know Mattel as to stick to legends who have deals but I wish we got some Next Generation or Attitude Era retro over Golden Era, but as a die hard hasbro/retro collector will never pass it up. Has for Elias. Great figure, I love the scan dead on. As for this motion I believe this is the first one Mattel release with the two arms punch that Braun has but in a little guy form. Reminds me of the Honky Tonk Man action back in the day. Love the fact the guitar fits in his hand. Even love it better it comes apart. And finally Big Daddy Cool Diesel. What can I say other than 20 plus years in the making. It has the same action as Braun does. The face scan from what I have seen online and drawing is pretty close if not what Hasbro wanted to release. The only thing I can say is I wish they was a little more detail in the pants. At the bottom of the legs they have a little detail.

How bad were the JYD cards? A lot of people are worried about that.

How bad were the JYD cards? A lot of people are worried about that. If you mean condition wise, I am guessing since I bought two of each figure they were pretty much factory sealed. So the cards for all 8 figures were pretty good, this was the first set of retro that I really had to make a decision which ones to kept MOC and which ones to open. For Hardy and Elias it was up to just two very very small bent corner but nothing that couldn't been fine if I only has one, and the Diesel figure there was just a tiny scruff make near the elbow pad so I decide to open that one. Other than that they were pretty damn good conditions.

Good to hear. Ringside is letting people know that the condition of JYD'S cards might be damaged due to the way the factory packed them.

I prefer when they make 1 Legend from the Golden Era and 1 from the Attitude Era and 2 currents like this series and series 9 with Macho and Goldust. Hopefully they stick with it, but knowing Mattel, they won't.
Also, I love the idea of a JYD Retro since he never got a Hasbro (same with Sheik) but I would have preferred a bigger legend from then like Hogan or Bret Hart. But if they keep doing it this way then we might see some really good ones like Hillbilly Jim, King Kong Bundy, Big John Studd, and maybe Hercules or Koko B Ware.

I do agree that I do like the fact Sheik and JYD never had a hasbro figure. As it came to hasbro figures back in the day, it is hard to say what era they were in, as it was towards the end of the golden era but the beginning of the next generation era. It is funny because as I am typing out my thoughts I keep deleting what I am typing because at first I was saying well it was sort of the end of the golden era by the time hasbro were made, but not really. So yea guys like Sheik and JYD would be good figures to make but then I am thinking well they weren't around for those years anyway. I guess just like everything with wrestling is a back and forth discussion. I mean do I want to see Mattel make a Hogan and Bret hell yeah. Do I want them to go crazy like they have been with Mattel elite no. As for Hogan, make an 80's version and a Hollywood Hogan. I would love it to be two different actions, but if they gave us a WWF Hogan and a Hollywood in the same action I would say fine. As for Bret, would love to see them do a Hart Foundation Attitude Era attire but match a Neidhart figure also.

I received my diesel today and I am very disappointed. My diesel is all black and is missing the logo on the tank top. I emailed ringside. I hope they replace it.

You should hold onto it and order another one. If they replace it you're gonna have to send it back. And if it's open they wont take it. A lot of collectors dont care for factory errors, but ya never know. Might be worth saving.

Def. worth more with the error like that. Wonder how many came out like that though? Guess we'll see if multiple surface as everyone gets their preorders this week.

Probably not many like the Roman without a beard. Maybe 100? Who knows for sure. Definitely worth a good amount to the right collector, but that's the problem, finding a collwctor who will pay a decent amount for it because most people wouldn't.

I know some people are iffy on the Diesel but I love it. I totally dig the cartoon looking head. Minus the HBK head scan. I love every single one of Mattel Retro's scans. I think it is a perfect fit for what Hasbro was doing back in the day. I would of hated if Mattel did the same type of scans that they do for basic or elites. It just wouldn't be the same.

Guys if you have Ringside order issues please email them cs@ringsidecollectibles.net. They will respond and take care of it. Please be patient as well, most of the time they answer very quickly but they are not there all of the item but they will respond to order issues. No posting here please. Stay on topic as with all posts here. Thank you!

Got my 4 sets, typical Mattel card bends, creases and bubble dents. I have one good MOC set, another to open, and 2 loose sets to sell. That's why I normally order multiple sets.
