I don't care what happens, what company owns the licence or whatever...
Just please make them the same, i don't think i can be bothered to start over again with completely new figures.

I’m not surprised. Hasbro is THE brand right now.

Gambit and Jubilee have been out since May. I know. I was saying it took three years after the Juggernaut BAF wave to get the two X-Men characters that I really wanted, Jubilee and Gambit. I lost interest in the Legends line when all I saw were figures based on the films, which I have no interest in. They have to stagger it though so they have characters to make over the years. They can't just put it all out one year. Especially when they are dealing with fictional characters.

Mattel is almost on Jakks level these days and they doesn't give a about anything anymore. In what way? Jakks released a naked Mark Henry near the end & Mattel just added fx printing and interchangeable hands. Clearly Mattel doesn't care.

You do realize that in a few weeks everyone is going to be having toygasms over all the reveals at Mattel's showings and be like "BEST YEAR EVAR!!!" and everything. I was talking to a friend of mine who knew how that type of crap works and he made it a point in a long discussion to ASSURE me why Mattel wasn't going to go under. He went to business school and is high up the corporate chain in his field, so he would have some idea what he's talking about.

Mattel won't go out of business. They own Hot Wheels, Matchbox and Barbie. Those 3 brands make tons of money for Mattel.

Regardless of who takes over, they're going to be different. They want you starting from scratch in their ecosystem. The one benefit to Hasbro taking over and starting the line from scratch at 1/12, is that scale will be much easier to maintain.

I have said it before and I will say it again, bring on hasbro !! I have been able to buy 2 full sets of new marvel legends recently while there has been nothing new at my local walmart and target for a month or two. Also the marvel legends that I bought sets of got restocked 3-4 days later. Hasbro brings quality and most importantly availability. So I can actually go into a store and buy something. It really is astonishing how frequently I see Marvel Legends figures on the shelves. We’ve become conditioned to expect the following from Mattel, and I’m thinking a change would be nice. -Empty shelves -Long stretches with no figures -Unattainable chases I understand times have changed from when many of us were kids, however, the online availability hasn’t been consistent either. To everyone clamoring for Hasbro to take over, remember this from 25 years ago? It's kind of rare for me to see a healthy stock of Marvel Legends. At least the comic book ones. The movie ones stay for ages because they either make too much or most people aren't interested in them. The comic book centric series have very little shipped and they usually sell through fast. Or the stores are behind the 8-ball. All the Targets in 100 miles (I travel a lot and I check) of me have recently gotten stocks of X-Men Series 2. 2-3 years after they were already released. X-Men Series 3 never made it to any Targets or Walmarts near me. I haven't seen X-Men Series 4. The same can be applied for comic-based Spider-Man series. I have to go to Amazon to get me Marvel Legends and my WWE figures. It's pathetic. And I've heard that Hasbro is just as bad with Star Wars. They ship out huge quantities before a movie, the toys don't sell, then they rot on shelves for a year and Hasbro refuses to focus on classic characters that usually sell through.

Jakks released a naked Mark Henry near the end & Mattel just added fx printing and interchangeable hands. Clearly Mattel doesn't care. Are we really doing this? Ok then. Elite 67 was Jakks all over the place. Wrong Rey mask, giant hands on Rey, skin colored pegs on wrist taped hands on Cedric, Shayna with horrible ab crunch and F'N MALE NXT TITLE, Dream with Triple f'n H body and Jeff with colored over shirt in the neck area. Then Braun gets re released all over again in the same stupid brown attire that we got plenty of times already and if that's not bad enough, he literally got 2 same (wrongly colored) releases at the same time in different packages and as another fresh example the now canceled Deletion pack had completely wrong colored pants on Wyatt and even he tweeted about it. And I'm not even mentioning the weird choice of giving half of their figures horribly oversized (and therefore ready for the trashcan) plastic shirts now instead of nice looking fabric. They don't give a flying about their releases anymore even if their lifes depends on it. Which... Uhm... Ironically seems to be the case right now... Lol.

Serious question to those who would give up collecting if the license switched hands... Is that out of loyalty to Mattel and their product or more so just refusing to have to start from scratch with a new manufacturer? Personally, I think it's more the latter - I mean, a lot of people/Jakks collectors were reluctant to "start again" when Mattel took over (...one of the main reasons the Legends line didn't do well, IMO).

that article is from January.. Also, these stores clearance toys out at this same time every year. Threads like this are exactly how dumb rumors like this start on here. One person makes a post about it, 40 other dimwits believe it and as their own twist it and bam.. it becomes fact on here, just like the idiotic spreadsheets thing that one user pushed until it caught on. Also, where the hell does one hear a “rumor” about a world wide toy conglomerate going out of business? The articles are from 3 days ago, not "January", and it's not a "rumor". Do a little research next time. Learn to read the thread you’re replying to. You should spill the beans on which formerly banned poster you are. You've been drumming up rumors and stuff like this a lot and get real pissed if proved wrong. Until someone from Mattel says anything of the such..it’s rumors.

I can't see Mattel going out of business for good, they have some pretty valuable lines. They'll most likely spend time trying to figure out how to turn this around or will get a bailout, regardless the CEO of Mattel could get fired and replaced.

I’m not going to start over again. So Mattel better keep this license forever or the next company is going to have to do their figures in the same style

Guys, regardless of whether or not Mattel stays in business, they're not always going to have the license. Sooner or later someone is going to come around and present the WWE with a better offer. So eventually you're going to have to start over with a new look and a new scale. It's an inevitability. Hell, it's not like it would be the first time for the WWE line.
