Selling off my collection when I was unemployed.
I had to do it at the time, but it was painful. I’m slowly getting it back piece by piece, so it all came good in the end.

I'm not proud of this, but the ESR was just too big for me and The Main Event ring didn't come out yet. So a few Christmas's back I put it up for sale on eBay...but I added extras, about 4 figures, some tables, chairs - I just wanted to de-clutter. Anyway the seller won at a decent price and messaged me about how this will be a wonderful xmas gift for their grandson that loves wrestling. So I don't know if I was filled with the christmas spirit or what, but I threw in the WCT modern steel cage, complete, mint everything. I've been on eBay since 2001, you'd think I'd be wiser about those sob stories of little grandmas buying toys for their grand kids. Hell the seller was probably telling the truth who knows. But that christmas I gave little "tommy" the best wrestling gift of basically a complete ring playset with cage and roster of figures. Now I want back a WCT modern cage and the damn thing is extinct - I never see it up for sale anywhere And I know it's going to be listed at $300+ because wrestling toy sellers are insane.

Passing up E34 Paige years ago when her figure was red hot. Really most of my blunders boil down to missing out on a figure when I had an opportunity to get it or selling off a figure I'd soon regret.

Selling all my basics then starting with elites again. Finding it hard to cut the chord.
I miss my peach trunks Orton!

For Mattel WWE:
Passing on DM Wrestlemania VII Ultimate Warrior when it first came out
Selling Basic Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel figures individually for $19 total when I couldve sold them together as International Air Strike and gotten more
Selling 2010-2012 Basic John Cenas when I would need the headscans to swap with his later Elites
Not buying Skip Sheffield, Heath Slater, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel and Michael Tarver Nexus figures for $1 each at a flea market a couple years ago

My biggest blunder was starting late, after jakks lost the license I swore off Mattel’s for a long time

All those rows of Bret Hart DMs for $13 each I really wanted that Bret Defining Moments. I remember seeing the Cena Defining Moment that came out with this in stores. But I never saw Bret. Then I heard of people finding them at Big Lots and I stopped at every Big Lots I saw whenever we were out of town, but I’ve come to discover over the years that when stuff shows up at other Big Lots stores it never makes it to the ones around me. Never did see Bret in stores anywhere. I was able to get one loose from the Ringside flood sale or Ringside Figure Tree as people were calling it then. So I eventually got one. But really wanted to find one to keep MOC too. And now they’re going for more than I wanna pay, so I’ll just be happy with my loose figure. man I loved it back then me and 2 of my buddies drove around and cleared out damn near every big lots and Kmart in Ohio we could find of the clearance legend's and defining moments figures we literally walked out of Kmart with multiple legend's figures from series 1-6 for 1.99 each and dm series 1-4 for 3.99 each because of clearance and then at big lots we cleared out every case of dm series 5 and a few of series 3 they got in for 10 bucks each along with the 30 dollar eilte scale rings they also had at the time

That's not a blunder. that'sn doing what you have to do to survive. Now if you sold it for a few dollars, sure. But I wouldn't count that.

But selling wrestling figures dont pay bills unless you have FB3 Harley Race, E63 Bob Backlund, E64 Pete Dunne, E65 Sensational Sherri, E66 Alexander Wolfe, HOC Ultimate Warrior, NXT 4 Drew McIntyre and NXT 4 Aleister Black.

Mine was during the Jakks CS years....I didn’t collect every single one but I did have probably half of the CS figures they made & then one day after my first wife & I divorced, I bagged them all up in trash bags ( except for the Rock & Roll Express which I still have) drove to a nearby car wash, threw them all in a dumpster & drove away....Now days a lot of those figures I had go for big bucks on eBay & I kick myself in the ass every time I think about doing what I did that day....I wish I had all the money back I spent on those but you do ignorant things to live & learn I guess!! Why didn't you donate them instead of throwing em away? Momentary lapse of reason my friend....hindsight is 20/20

selling my collection :{ it would probably have been worth double by now. and everytime i see a cool new figure i want. I stop myself. Cuz i can't see getting back into collecting. There is pretty much no feasible way to go and get all the old figures i had. Just the non-rare older figures are super expensive now. i had almost every elite from the beginning until elite 41. Minus maybe 30 figures. not to mention all the irreplaceable things i had in my collection

As a kid, I remember being at KB Toys with my mom in either 1995 or 1996. They had some WWF Hasbro figures which were marked down as usual. She let me get two figures and since they were a tag team, I went with the singles-release Bushwhackers from Series 10.
Just assumed I'd pick up that 123 Kid the next time I was there. 😧
