I bought 2 UE Warriors, as I wanted 2 versions of the coat (one for my DM 2K14 Warrior), and display an extra one without the coat and the tatty facepaint. Upon opening the figure I realise that the face looks different and after comparing them I see that the black application around the facepaint is drastically different. Like it hardly even seems like a mistake (even though it's totally inaccurate to the match) with the way it's pointed up in the middle and shaped around the sides of the eyes instead of just being circular.

If you pay enough attention to detail with figures when buying, you'll notice that there can be quite a bit of variation from figure to figure and that Mattel's quality control is really bad. I even saw one Warrior with two of the same head...Might have been a swap, but I'm not sure why anyone would do that.

Shipping might cost a tad bit more, but it's worth it.

A good example of the variation of paint app is on the BOAE HHH jeans. Some of jeans colors are stonewashed(?) & some are more acid washed. Mine is more moderate acid washed.

They are figures for under $30 and are painted by a machine. Mishaps happen.
And it’s not a quality control problem.

That's minimal error. The E69 Ciampa I just got recently, is missing the hair on its stomach. Still doesn't beat the one-eyebrowed Maryse, I got years ago, though. Also, remember that someone here, got a Black, which was missing the hand tat on its chest.

Honestly, I kinda like the way your “error” looks. It’s relatively harmless compared to things like...

Because painting mishaps are not considered quality control issues. Why not? Quality control issues are more so safety issues. One the figures start rolling out, they present a few samples to get the OK to continue producing them. They mainly look for safety concerns.

I worked for Lowes for a few years and they considered any paint or or other finishing flaws in their production as quality control issues.
