Exactly as the title states. Same deal as with the Avengers, please keep any comments and spoilers in this thread for the next couple of weeks. Either myself or Tim of thee will drop a holler when it's safe to come out of this thread. Enjoy the show!

Seeing it in less than 20 hours with FREE tickets and hate myself for how little interest I have in going. Rewind 4 years where I didn't sleep the night before TFA. Lookin forward to Mandalorian Episode 7, though!

As much as I disliked The Last Jedi, I’m still nerding out for Rise of Skywalker. Cannot wait any longer!

Just got back. I heard it wasn't getting good reviews, so I feared the worse. But honestly, I liked it. Not perfect, but I think it was the strongest of the new trilogy. Kinda wish Ben didn't die. I wanted to see him and Rey together.
Love how Chewy finally got his medal.
Great seeing Lando again.
C-3PO was funny.
Emperor was handled well IMO too.

I get why the reviews are poor. The editing in particular is all over the place. That said, I thought the third act was excellent. The best act of the entire new trilogy imo. I don’t think this trilogy has ever once come close to feeling like the OT but I do think this one feels close to a PT installment, if that’s your kind of thing.
I loved the Han Solo scene. Genuinely was not expecting to see Ford in this one. The most genuine scene of the film and just about the only non Rey/Kylo dialogue exchange that wasn’t super hokey.
Kylo and Rey’s story all works for me. Even their interactions in the Last Jedi were the only silver lining from that dumpster fire. That chemistry carried over to this one and it was put to much better use. Kylo taking out the Knights was cool. The kiss was weird imo. I think the only reason they get away with it is because he does die. Ben/Kylo surely stands trial and is sentenced to death for war crimes if he does survive. So that doesn’t really fit their celebration narrative if Rey has a boyfriend who is a mass murderer haha.
I hated mostly everything that came out of Poe or Finn’s mouth. Just bad characters and even worse dialogue. The comedy feels so fake with both of them. 3PO should have been all of the comedy and the rest of the film should have been left alone to breath. That’s been a major problem through all three films for me.
Snoke as a clone, the Sith troopers, the Sith Throne room, the Sith artifacts. That was all great. I would have liked to see Rey with a purple lightsaber but that’s some geek level nitpicking. I think this one was definitely better than 7 and 8. So that’s something. More good than bad for me but not great either. Fun night at the movies, though.
The very end was fan service 3000 but I don’t think there was a better way to end this thing. Beautiful visual and obviously iconic homage.

Just got home from seeing the movie. I went into this really hesitantly with the lukewarm reviews and the fact that I didn’t enjoy TLJ. I gotta say this is easily the best one of its trilogy. The scenes with Leia felt really weird though, with dark and day time switching and some clunky dialogue. I understand why and it’s pretty cool how they made it work, I just wouldn’t call it seamless. The ending with Palpatine was great. The scene of Luke looking at the two suns in ANH always gives me chills and it was the perfect way to end the saga.

After about half the movie my girlfriend said "So like, I feel like I would rather stare down at my feet?" That about sums it up for me. It really was that bad. Just, give the whole thing back to George Lucas. Atleast he made something exciting. 7 was okay, 8 was dog sh't, 9 was an insult to anyone who paid money to see it.

It was fine to me, a stupid fun movie. It would have been badass if at the end when all the jedi ghosts are talking to Rey, they were standing behind her when she killed the emperor.

5/10
I’m conflicted. It’s better than TLJ, but it’s not saying much. There were some good ideas, but a lot of stuff to complain about.
Won’t go into crazy details right now but I will say that I blame Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson for this mess of a trilogy that crapped on such iconic characters. People can say the prequels were bad, but the only “offensive” thing they did to hurt the Star Wars lore was introduce Midechlorians. This new trilogy took a p*** on established lore.
I honestly don’t blame JJ for this. Yeah TFA took a lot from ANH, but it left Star Wars with new and potentially great stories to explore. Then Rian Johnson comes around and ignored everything from the previous movie. Even Mark Hamill was crapping on TLJ before the movie even came out.
I feel that TROS was two movies in one. Like the first half of the movie was suppose to be the second movie in this trilogy, and the second half would be the third movie. The editing and pacing was really, really bad in this because of this and “fixing” the crap from the last movie.
There’s a lot to complain about with this franchise, but the one thing I’ll say now is that Disney legit killed the Skywakers off and left a Palpatine standing tall.
I can honestly see why George Lucas didn’t attend this movies premier (it was reported that he was invited and didn’t show up).

I honestly feel that Snoke was going to be the big-baddie of this trilogy until RJ crapped on every potential story JJ left at the end of TFA. After Rian killed Snoke for absolutely no reason and with nothing answered, I feel like JJ brought back Palpatine because there needed to be a “final boss” for Rey to overcome. When TFA was written I don’t feel that Palpatine was ever going to come back (possibly Rey would still be revealed to be his granddaughter but he wasn’t going to return).

I'm glad this site has an automatic censor thing in it. I went to see it at Cinepolis. Not sure if they are a nationwide chain, but I was surprised to see they had a wait staff and chairs that had electric leg rests. But they kept the theater at about 70°. Too damn hot! Plus the woman sitting a few seats down from me was making "Ooooh & Ahhh" sounds and laughing like she was Chris Farley doing his Beverly Gelfand Zagat's character. Now to the review. What a ing pile of festering dog crap! I was hoping Poe Dameron would die just for his douchiness alone. And suddenly Finn starts growing out his dreadlocks? Really? Do we really need so much 5th grade comedy in Star Wars films? My bad, apparently we do seeing how Disney owns it now. Sinking into quicksand & ending up in a hidden chamber? Already saw it in Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban. Needing a relic to find the location of something? Already saw it in The Goonies. I always thought Howard the Duck was the worst movie ever made. Not anymore. Rise of Skywalker just edged it out. Great job, Hollywood. My favorite part of the movie? At the very end, the Bad Robot ad ran. I muttered "Bad Robot? Bad movie!"

At the very end, the Bad Robot ad ran. I muttered "Bad Robot? Bad movie!" I agree with all of this except that it’s the worst movie ever. The Last Jedi has that distinction covered, even after this crap fest. With Poe, I feel like Disney was like “let’s make a new, cooler Han Solo...but without everything that made him cool!” Poe is a random happy-go-lucky pilot in TFA who really is too jolly considering he was tortured by Kylo, lost his beloved droid for a bit, and had to go against a planet-sized Death Star. But hey, he did save the day! He really had no other characteristics but being happy and way too optimistic. Then we get to TLJ, and even though it’s legit a few days after the last movie, Poe is now a trigger-happy, rash, idiotic pilot who cost the resistance the majority of their fleet (which is a whole other issue). Or, as Holdo (aka - Kathleen Kennedy) would call him, a stupid man...yes, let’s not trust the man who just blew up the galaxy destroyer. He’s rash and trigger-happy. Good thing we have strong, independent women in charge. But hey, atleast Poe was still a d-bag. Then we get to TROS, and Poe is is suddenly 2nd in command despite the last movie having Leia explain why she cannot trust this idiot with a high-ranking role in the resistance (which again, goes against how he was portrayed in the first movie). But hey, atleast he got his optimism back! This is just one terrible character in a sea of many terrible characters Disney has flooded Star Wars with.

I left the theater very pleased with it. I was worried with the early reviews and spoilers talk on youtube and such. Of course there are plot holes but the originals also have the same issues.
The overall feel was very similar to the way I felt when I would watch the originals when I was a kid. Really liked the lightsaber usage in this as well. Very fun movie.

I don’t think I liked it.
I mean, I liked it in a sense of it’s Star Wars. But I don’t like it in the literal sense of they ended the Skywalker saga with three movies that did not do justice to the OG characters

One of my biggest issues is that Episode 6 was the perfect ending to the original trilogy. Luke redeemed Vader, and Vader brought balance to the force as he was meant to. That was their ending.
The prequels added to the OT’s story, and didn’t crap on the character and story that we loved. The prequels weren’t great movies in a traditional sense, but still highly enjoyable films that added to the Star Wars lore.
This new trilogy did nothing but make the OT characters look like failures. After 30 years, we find out that Han is a failure of a father, Leia couldn’t lead a new republic, and Luke went against every characteristic he displayed in the OT. Rewatching ROTJ last week hurt as a fan as the ending to me is ruined knowing what happened to our heros in the end.

Unfortunately this is easily the worst Star Wars movie ever made. Passable entertainment and diving any further than that, especially in relation to Star Wars, in relation to rounding out the series, even in relation to rounding out this new trilogy, the movie was not good. I need a Star Wars break and this brought me there.
