They should be cancelled all together. Certain figures from sets should not be restricted to pacific stores. It doesn't make any sense. I agree. Give atlantic stores some love.

When I actually see a series in stores, the exclusives are usually still there......with that being said, I haven’t seen a single elite figure in my Walmart since the beginning of summer

Sherri has been at RSC for months with decent quantity apparently.
She is also popping up at other online retailers as it has been available in some quantities on Amazon for $25-30 recently.
Backlund of course was on WWE shop and Walmart is getting cases without Monsoon. Hopefully he will be made available online soon like Brisco.

Lately I've been seeing stores get cases opposite of what the exclusives are. My targets been getting 70 and now 72 and walmart is getting 71

I found multiples of Backlund 1x Dunne 1x Sherri 1x Wolfe 1x Patterson 1x Liv Morgan 0x Deville 20x The Rock 0x Brisco 0x Ohno and Paige 0x Monsoon
Ive had to go online and buy the latest ones. Picked up Paige and Ohno yesterday from a fellow board member.

As of now I've found every Wal-Mart Exclusive, had multiple chances at every one besides Sherri and Monsoon (which a case of E72 just showed up in my area this past week). As for the Targets, the only time I've put forth the effort was when I found Ohno and Paige in a fresh case of E71, ironically as I had my heart set to find Morgan and Deville. Got a Wolfe from RSC and the rest off the auctions, not paying more than double for any *shrugs* i lucked out and found a case of elite 69 and got Deville and Morgan who was actually one of if not the exclusive I wanted the most, got a monsoon out of a case at Walmart tonight as well, got very very lucky and was able to get dunne off the target app the one morning.

The one thing that bugs me is the cases without. There have been a lot! A lot!! Of cases without Ohno and Paige reported and that just sucks. I mean you have to help us actually be able to get the figures. If I make it and the whole case is actually there but it’s one without Ohno and Paige then I feel cheated almost. That they have to find a way to fix!

I felt much better about these earlier on than I do now.
Backlund I must have seen three or four times over.
I found Dunne very quickly and ended up seeing him three times overall, although one was months later at a random store, which shocked me. He was my most anticipated but since I wanted one to open and one to keep MOC, I didn't even get to open him for the first stretch because the first one I found was pristine.
Sherri I never found. The stores around me were too overloaded with 63/64. I found one Wal-Mart that had 65 but Sherri and Ronda were missing. I found someone hid Ronda on a side aisle so I held out hope I was going to find Sherri that day too but no luck. I finally just bit the bullet when I found a seller online with her for $29.
Wolfe I found relatively early too and I found him twice on pegs. Much like Dunne I spotted him once early and a second time when he had been around for a while.
Patterson I only saw once. I hadn't even realized that set was popping up and I somehow hit a store that had a fresh case on the pegs. Lucky I was able to get him in that one random sighting, as I hadn't even been scouting for him as I had all the others.
I saw Rock a couple times, I am presuming due to his excess shipping as I really didn't see E69 on many shelves. During the $7 period at Wal-Mart, I found one store that had Rey and Miz left. Then a few days later I went to another location that had two Rocks and everyone but Ciampa and Lashley. Only time I ever saw Ali (which was the chase) and Ricochet and I was lucky enough to get them for $7. I can only think of one Target near me where I saw Elite 69, they had Ciampa but Amazon had already shipped him. I really don't recall ever seeing Lashley on shelves... But this isn't about the real set, I never really felt I had a shot at Sonya or Liv. It stinks because Liv was one of my most wanted. I just won Sonya on eBay for a decent price. She showed up tonight but trying to peak from package, I think it is one with the missing skirt piece before I open it...
Have run into E70 at a couple stores but no Brisco. Got him from Walmart.com early on, which made me happy as I had been waiting to open Patterson until I had Brisco to join.
For E71, when Target had the scan issue I went to a store that had a couple Top Picks AJ on the shelf with one Paige. I was unsure if I wanted her but picked her up. Ohno is another big want for me so I am holding out hope but starting to think, much like Liv, that I am out of luck and less likely to find them cheap later unless someone from Canada gets desperate.
In the Gorilla thread I shared that I was shocked to stumble on a fresh case of the set at a Wal-Mart I wasn't planning on rechecking about two weeks ago.
I didn't mind the chases originally because I was having okay luck but I think between people seeing the prices stuff like Dunne was reselling at, in addition to store distribution, it is starting to be less fun. I don't need my figures to be valuable. I just always like having all the underrepresented people so makes me a little sad to not be able to get the couple I am missing right now as they would've been some of the main ones I would've grabbed had they been in the main set and not the chase exclusives.

Most of them I haven’t had interest in, but...
Backlund: Saw once, didn’t want Dunne: Saw once, bought Sherri: Nope, didn’t want Wolfe: Saw once, didn’t want Patterson: Don’t think I saw, didn’t want Rock: Found early Walmart case without him, saw a few times later on but already had the fig from my friend Liv/Sonya: Nope, didn’t want Brisco: Nope, didn’t want Ohno/Paige: Nope, would like Paige but didn’t put in much effort Monsoon: Not yet, don’t want

I’ve found all the Exclusives and most of the Chase Variants this year.
The real problem with them is I spent all my time and resources on getting them and I bought very few of the standard releases.

I’ve found all of the Walmart exclusives, other than Monsoon, but I haven’t even seen E72 around here yet. Probably saw Backlund and Rock at least 10 times and the rest at least twice. Target, however, has been a nightmare. I saw Wolfe and Sonya once, never saw Dunne, Ohno, Paige, or Liv. The only thing they seem to stock is Top Talent. I bet they haven’t had more than 3 or 4 cases of regular Elites on the shelf in the last year.

I truly think there’s more reports of people finding cases at targets without ohno and Paige then there are people finding them which is ridiculous and totally defeats the purpose of them being target exclusives.

I have yet to find a Target Exclusive with the exception of seeing Wolfe once and picking him up. Other than that I haven't seen any other. I've seen the WalMart exclusives a lot and at least once each time which I purchased.

That is absolutely true, I myself was a victim of finding an unopened case with no Ohno or Paige in it. I brought it up to AFA that these two imparticular were pretty impossible to find and how there weren’t any e bay auctions from the states currently up, he said that Target “still had” many cases of that set and not to worry.

I found a lot of The Rock, a single Bob Backlund months ago, and a single Pat Patterson. I check multiple Walmarts and Targets twice a week every week. These chase figures are such a pain in the ass. They're honestly some of my most wanted figures and I can never find them. Hell, the Targets along my drive haven't had a new case of regular elites in like 6 months. They just keep restocking Network Spotlights and Best of 2018/2019. Distribution for these companies is absolute dog crap and Toys R Us was just as bad when it was still around. I know Mattel is making them, but I don't know where the they're selling them. I don't know why those stores have such a hard on for exclusives. It's not like they're getting them out to us. All it does is make me hate their store more and more and get my regular figures from other sources. I have money and I want to buy a product. What is so ing hard about that?

I'm going to be honest here: I understand why these collector edition figures exist, I get why Mattel thought it'd be a great idea, but the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.
As I understand it, Mattel started adding exclusives to the main line to encourage retailers to carry their core Elites instead of just ordering store exclusive lines (Flashbacks, Hall of Champions, NXT, etc.). The elephant in the room is the influx of cases being sent to Walmart and Target without their designated exclusives. Recently there have been Target cases without Ohno, Paige, and now Peyton as well as Walmart cases without Monsoon or Brisco Not every store is dealing with this problem but it's fair to say something's amiss.
Distribution has been and continues to be the most frustrating part of collecting not just WWE figures, but most domestic lines in general, save for NECA. I get that measures are being done to make these exclusives more accessible like Walmart listing some online (Brisco and soon Gorilla) or reissues in the main-main line (Pete Dunne), but with distribution already lackluster, having cases of Elites without the store exclusive is a severe error and defeats the purpose of having them to begin with. Soon enough people will get frustrated with not finding say Monsoon or Ohno and give up on brick and mortar stores all together, biting the bullet on eBay instead.
The point of these exclusives is to drive more foot traffic to the two biggest retailers after the collapse and slow healing process of TRU, but now with scalpers whose eyes light up at the word "exclusive" and already questionable distribution punctuated with this recent issue, it's taking its toll on collectors who actually want to buy the products as intended. The cards are stacked against us, and that's not even taking into account international collectors who have to pay a customs charge on top of inflated secondary market value.
Don't get me wrong, this was not a bad idea at all, and I don't blame Steve or Bill for this, I blame whomever is in charge of sending out cases if not Walmart and Target themselves. A program like this would be viable in a perfect world, but unfortunately this is the hand we're dealt with, assuming a store gets the case to begin with. If a program like this is to work, changes must be made and while I see some in motion like I said before, the issue of poor distribution has to be addressed if alternate arrangements cannot be done.
TL;DR: The intention of collector editions is understandable, but the execution as of late has been nothing short of a failure between poor distribution made somehow worse and artificial scarcity at the hands of a greedy secondary market.
