I tried to set rules. Only get the guys I was a true fan of. Only need 1 of each guy. Little by little every rule I made was eventually broken. This has always been my problem - I say to myself "I'll only get ROH/NXT/Indy guys" or "I'll collect those that I want" and try to build a perfect roster, but end up either getting frustrated or breaking those rules like yourself. My last set of elites were supposed to be a collection of my favourites in current WWE/NXT along with alumni of ROH, as I really loved when Joe/Bryan/etc were in ROH - I ended up with tons of figures and a collection that was way above my initial idea, so I sold them off in frustration. Been thinking about a Mattel WCW collection, but have the same overall "Well, I could get this guy, but I didn't watch him WCW at the time, but then I can expand on [whatever division] but then I'd have to buy another set of guys I don't like...etc". I think it's the perfectionist in me over thinking it all. AEW figs seem to be on the horizon now, so I may start afresh and just get them all haha.

31. I have been on and off here since 2002! I collect and now play with the figures with my 8 year old son and 10 year old daughter. That is so cool to hear! I got my nephew into wrestling figures and wrestling in general. He loves putting on shows with me whenever he comes over. Bought him some Final Count and Finishing Moves figures so he can pose them around and do cool spots with them. The spots that kids come up with are so creative.

34. Collecting figures for over 30 years. Always loved them and still enjoy them.
In fact as the good old grown up bills have crept in, I quit smoking, drinking and gaming over the years to dedicate more funds to them. The hobby has become ridiculously expensive.

I'm 32 and got my first figures around about 96/97 but didn't get into collecting properly until 5 years later and I've not stopped since. I've slowed down a lot, only buying people or figures that I like so it's not an expensive hobby for me. I've got a bunch of my favourite Mattels on display with a lot more in drawers due to no space (maybe I should put shelves up.) I've not really played with a fed consistently for about 14 years now, though I did have a brief few months run with it again about 6 years ago. I keep telling myself that I'd love to just sit down and do it again with all of these amazing new talents that I never had as a kid, like AJ Styles, Finn Balor and Aleister Black. Maybe it's just that I don't have the imagination anymore but I never get around to actually doing it. My nephew is almost 4 so maybe he could be involved with it some day.

I'm 32. Had every line from Hasbro, All of Jakks, and about the time CS came out I switched from playing to collecting. Still have about 10 Hasbro and 20 BCA, sold the rest of my Jakks when Mattel came out besides those. I've started and sold my Mattel collection a few times during my 20s, never had more than 20-25 figures but I like the hunt and Mattel makes great figures. Unfortunately I also ski and snowboard 120+ days a year, along with writing music, playing hockey, camping, and traveling. So I have some very expensive hobbies that have benefited from selling my collection in the past. I also used to party, a lot. Eventually I grew out of that and started saving money even with all the other hobbies, so two years ago I decided that at this point collecting figures is something I really still enjoy and don't want to give up. Now I'm at about 80 and have bought most of the figures I used to have. The MWF podcast has kept me engaged as well, the weekly hour walk with my dog listening to it is something I'm always looking forward to. I also care less of what people think now that I'm older, and self checkout lines help avoid those judgy conversations. More than anything though this hobby has helped me lead a better and healthier lifestyle. Instead of drinking all the time I find myself going on those podcast walks, doing some figure hunting, or deciding to buy a pricey figure instead of going to the bars. My girlfriend is really cool about it too, she weirdly watched from 2006-2008 and I didn't, but gets excited when she knows the wrestler.

35 and collecting wrestling figs has been apart of who I am my whole life. My dad got me LJN when I was a baby. Moved on to Hasbro,BCA,Classic Superstars, Mattel. Luckily for me I only focus on legends so the hobby doesn't get too expensive.

26. At 15 years old I was diagnosed with schizophrenia and wrestling was an escape for me. I started buying here and there and caught the bug, I’ve been collecting the past 11 years as it was my childhood hobby and I never stopped watching wrestling all the way through school. Once Mattel took the license I fell in love with figures all over again.

29. Lifelong fan. Had pretty much all the Hasbros, BCAs and TTLs as a kid. Stopped playing around the RA era and got more into the displaying aspect with the Classic Superstars line. Since then I’ve become a part time collector, only getting a few figures here and there. I don’t have a dedicated space for figures but have a few on my desk.
But I will say, with all the new additions like interchangeable parts and the TrueFX, and also the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast, it has been sending me down a path of getting more figures then ever before (at least in the Mattel era).

I turn 29 this year. I have a few reasons for collecting I guess. Hasbro WWF toys were the first ones I remember having and wrestling has been a huge part of my life for basically all of it, so there's that aspect. I'd collected the figures anyways dating back to when I was a kid except for a 2 year span at the end of the Jakks line when the quality took a huge dive and then again for a couple of years in the Mattel line where I barely bought anything. A couple of years ago I dealt with some alcohol-related depression and starting to actively buy figures that weren't just the retros again helped bring me out of it. It's one of those weird comfort hobbies, I guess. I like getting a new figure or landing a rare figure I never dreamt I'd get (I recently bought the Kelian AAA series on eBay and that was a really happy moment for me because I'd wanted those for years) and I like seeing what's coming out and deciding what I have room for (which is almost nothing at this point) and what I can pass on.

I’m 39 and I started collecting a few years ago again after quitting once Hasbro lost the license in the 90s. I never collected Jakks and I was never a big fan of them so I quit. This would’ve also been during my teenage years. I’ve been a wrestling fan since 1984 and I collect various other things so this wasn’t much of a stretch for me. Collect what you like, age means nothing.

Makes me sad to admit, but I'll be 33 April 4th. I've been a WWF/WWE/WCW/ECW collector since I was about 6, so going on 27 years (f*ck, Im old). Started with WWF Playmates, then Jakks BCA and Bendem's. I walked away shortly after the transition to TTL because I hated them. I'll never forget the feeling of despair seeing "LAST OF THE BONE CRUNCHERS!" starting on Signature Series 4 (Blue). Pretty much stayed away until Ruthless Aggression, and came back full-time for the Classic Superstars line from launch. I completed the CS line (not including anything more limited than 1/100), and was there day one on January 1st 2009 when Mattel took the license and released their WWE products on the market. I had a near-complete Mattel collection (including 1/1000s) until life forced me to sell 75% of my collection to pay for a serious surgery for my wife. It was then that I announced my departure from collecting and showed off my collection on this forum. At the time it was the biggest known collection of pro-wrestling memorabilia and toys in the world. Anyone interested in seeing the pics can look at the link below: forum.wrestlingfigs.com/thread/328304/dgnr8s-farewell-collection-classifieds-update(Be sure to keep scrolling after the pictures end to see EVEN MORE PICTURES! WARNING: there are lots of pics!) Since then, I begrudgingly but excitedly restarted my collection. It's in my blood, ya know?

I’m currently 26. I collect for a couple reasons — one being I love the products and they give me a sense of nostalgia. The other one is kind of personal, but basically, I’ve had to restart my collection twice because my family members sold/stole my collection for money that I assume was to fuel certain habits of theirs. Being able to collect as an adult and not have to worry about that is super empowering.

I'm 36. I didn't even start watching wrestling until age 15, and started collecting soon after. Funny thing, back then my collecting consisted of the same thing it does now - McMahon figures and Women's figures. My first ever figure was the 1999 Fully Loaded X-Punk Shane figure. I still have it around here somewhere, surprisingly still with his shirt. I used to collect every Shane and Stephanie figure I could find. For some dumb reason, I thought their figures would go up in value (silly me) and in a suitcase, in my old bedroom, there are 3 MOC Stephanie rookie figures. The funny thing is that, back then, I really wanted to get Vince's rookie figure MOC as well, but balked on the 80 dollar price tag online. WEEEEELLLL...
Anyway, I do have some older figures still MOC including one really weird one. It's a Tazz figure in an Undertaker package. Once again, I thought "Hey, maybe this will be worth something someday". Silly me.
BTW: I quit watching WWE in 2003 (Blame the Car Battery) and didn't start up until February 2016 (gee, wonder why). So yup, when the watching started again, so did the collecting. Still McMahons, Still Women. Same stuff, different decade.
