Please excuse my ignorance on this but how do you avoid mold issues when you do a figure bath? I ordered some parts off of the internet and when I got them they were kind of dirty. I don't want to send for a refund I just want to bathe it and fix it. But how do I do that without creating a mold issue?

Wash, rinse and let dry. Been doing fig baths (sometimes literal) long before ryder ever did and never had problems

Lay down a thin towel or some paper towel or such, and then just stand them up. Should dry fine by air with the ability for water to drain from the torso via gravity

I let mine air dry on a towel on my kitchen counter. I've done LJNs, Remcos, Bendems, galoobs, Hasbro, all JAKKS styles and Mattel's.

I just shake the figures like they're maracas until all the water comes out

Hot water. Soap. Soak. Wait. Rinse. Dry.
Rose petals, glass of wine and bath bomb are all optional.

I've never had a figure mold. I wash everything from flea markets and eBay. If it didn't come to me in a box, I just assume it's been in someones ass.

Mold needs constant moisture to grow. Even if you didn't dry the figures completely, they would air dry before mold would form. I think your over thinking this...

Here you are showing your figures as you hand them down to your kids in the future: About 5 years ago I bought a Giant Gonzalez Jakks CS figure at the Stormville Flea market that had DEFINITELY been in somebody's ass. That's a big figure, too.

You know that trick about sticking a soaked phone in a bowl of dried rice? It isn't gonna hurt your figures anymore than it'd hurt an iPhone. Rice isn't a half bad desiccant. Just skip the seasoning.

I think the only way you'd ever have a problem with mold is if you bathe them and instantly bag the figure up after you take it out of the sink. If you give it a shake and let it air dry overnight, you'll be fine.
