So it's evident that a large number of this community avoids collecting from the basic line and are primarily Elite/UE collectors. Being in the market of collecting basics myself my question is with the recent switch of the basic line scheme/points of articulation will there be more demand for the older basics which had the more traditional design with biscep swivel and such? Im personally not in favor of the newer basics although I think the new basic design favors the female characters better for some reason. ) Yes. The new packaging and features of the basic figures are far more impressive than the output in the past. My policy with basics is I buy NXT basics that haven’t had an elite figure produced (Matt Riddle, Keith Ler, Lars Sullivan, Bianca Belair etc)

For me it's a damned if you damned if you don't with basics. There are so many people that never get an elite ( Titus) and only get a basic and then are out the door. I hold out hoping for an elite version, but sometimes that never happens. (Hideo Itami) I may pick up Riddle and Lee if I see them.

I don’t mind some of the basics anymore. I swore them off for a while but I like the head scans on some and it gives us newer characters faster and some only have that one figure.

It's funny. I used to use basics for arm/head swaps with elites, but now the new interchangeable hands system has made that irrelevant. So now I'm no longer upset about the change in basics. I can still use them for headswaps, which I do.
