Hey everyone. Noobie here. I'm looking for some help on a wrestling ring. I've just got my kids into wrestling and looking at getting them figures and a ring. Not a fan of any gimmicky ring with a break away floor or spring loaded mat. I like the authentic ring but just too much money for me to spend. I've seen some old rings by Jakks Pacific. A WWF Action Ring and a WWf Monster ring. Action Ring: www.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED/itm/Jakks-Pacific-WWF-Action-Ring-Playset-W82439-2001-New-NIB/254534683237?hash=item3b43730a65:g:GQUAAOSwunteHa7z Monster ring: www.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED/itm/1997-Jakks-Pacific-WWF-Raw-is-War-Monster-Ring/353025245096?hash=item5231f1bfa8:g:HwAAAOSwNzRefq2- Just using ebay as a reference. Seen them cheaper. I plan on getting the Mattel basic and Elite size figures. Would these rings be an ok size for the Mattel figures? Cheers

How much are the authentic scale rings going for now-a-days?

erm around 90 upwards for a used one. Not an amount i want to pay for something that might get broken eventually or not played with.

My son got into wrestling about a year ago, and we had the same issue. Most of the rings have daft gimmicks or are too small. We (me basically haha) built a ring over the summer last year using an art canvas as the mat. It was a great binding experience and relatively cheap and easy to make too
This video is pretty close to what we made!

The ASR wasn’t much less than that new. It’s excellent and my son used it for play and it never broke. We don’t use it anymore but it still has a prominent place in his room and whenever I get myself a new figure I always display it for a while. (Currently I have the whole corporation with Patterson and briscoe displayed)

That youtube video is cool. I will see what i have around the house and look into making it. Until then, no one recommend those wrestling rings i posted? It really doesn't have to be to scale. Its just something to play with. My kids wont care if its authentic scale or not.

Jakks' Real Scale Ring is probably the best overall, but Mattel's Authentic Scale and Main Event Rings also get the job done. Way more play area in the Authentic Scale Ring than any others I can think of. I don't know what your kid's preferences are, but maximum play area is what mattered most to me when I was a kid.

Ahh glad i asked then. I've also read about the Attitude Ring and Hardcore ring. I read these were close to scale, not that it matters. Would these be any good with Mattel figures? My kids would just be happy to have a ring and figures. A wrestling ring is a wrestling ring to them. Just need to have room to do some moves. Not paying the money for the main event rings.

the Jakks RSR is your best option The ASR/ESR is bit too big for most people (though I no issue with it) The Main Event Ring is pretty trash for $70 with the ringposts being too tiny

Those are good, really good in fact. I'm not sure if the height of the ropes/ring posts will be ideal for Mattel figures, but those two are the epitome of set-up-and-play rings.

Jakks real scale ring best ring ever made no question about it Agreed. I have the Hell in the Cell RSR and still holds up till this day. I eventually bought the ASR but it's way too big, I do like the turnbuckles though.

For decent price

I still have my ESR that I paid $30 for at Big Lots. It's packed away in my attic since I don't have the room for it anymore. If only I could build a large table to accommodate its size

Who made the ring with the Mania 2 apron and blue steel cage? I have that one in storage in another state so I can't check.

I have the Jakks money in the bank scale ring and the Mattel smackdown scale ring. I'm not a fan if the Jakks one because the mat is just a plastic overlay and you have to tie the ropes yourself. It doesn't look good and seem too loose. Only flaw with the Smackdown ring is the ropes are too low.

That would be the Wicked Cool Toys Authentic Scale Ring, I believe...It's a good ring, looks great on display, especially for a "legends" set up...Some people felt it was a little too big, but I don't have any issues with it. Ringside has/had several ring skirts that fit this ring, including WCW Saturday Night and Monday Nitro...
