I'm curious: why do you think WWE isn't making any fuss about McIntyre being the first ever British WWE Champion? They didn't make any fuss about him being the first British Royal Rumble winner either.
Britain's never had a WWE Champion or a Royal Rumble winner before, and I don't think I've heard any of the commentators even mention it, which is so strange when you consider how much WWE loves to scream 'first ever' at the top of their lungs.

I think he's also the first wrestler to win 2 world championships for 2 different promotions in Orlando in front of no fans.

They mentioned it on Raw last night when he was coming back down to the ring "after WrestleMania".

Nothing against Drew.. but everyone knows the first British, WWE champion - if it couldn't be Davey Boy, SHOULD'VE been WADE BARRETT.

Isn't Drew from Scotland though??
I mean shouldn't Sheamus be the first British WWE Champion since he is from Ireland??

Oh wow, that is so cool!
I always hear Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England lumped as "United Kingdom" and when I hear United Kingdom usually the word "Britain" gets thrown around. So I just figured Ireland was included in that too.

There are two countries on the island of Ireland - the Republic of Ireland (which is its own country and uses the Euro) and Northern Ireland (which comprises the six Irish counties that wanted to stay under British Rule when the conflict finally ended, and uses the Pound). People from other countries often use the words 'Britain' and 'England' interchangeably, which is a surefire way to piss off Scottish and Welsh people.

I'm sure once someone tells Vince he'll make the announcers constantly say it.
