www.wwe.com/article/scott-dawson-dash-wilder-the-revival-releasedThey never really got going on the main roster partly through injuries and subsequent bad booking. Their series with American Alpha are still among my favourite ever tag team matches. I imagine more cuts are coming because of the virus WWE won't have the money to keep paying out big contracts to all those wrestlers, so it appears they've cut their losses and just let the Revival go as it was no secret they wanted out anyway.

They were almost "too good" to ever succeed on the main roster of Vince's hate for tag team wrestling WWE.

Top Guys.... Out.
Also, queue the 1000 questions about The Revival that AFA will have to (not)answer.

It's ironic to me they had their most success in the past year when everyone knew they wanted to leave.

I've read rumors that Dawson and Wilder weren't receiving much money, if any, since they had already reached their guaranteed pay and were sitting home the last couple months, so weren't due any of the live show gate.
I believe there's some strategery in WWE releasing them now, that "whichever company" who signs them can't feature them immediately in a prominent way. Not impossible, but pretty difficult.

Eh, sure they were a fine tag team, but if they do go to AEW I just dont know if they'll fit in in the long term. They'll stick out like a sore thumb tbh...much like in WWE actually

I believe they'll be much better off in a promotion like AEW where they can shine in a tag team division that is actually cared for. I liked seeing them in WWE but they were never given anything consistent.
Much like Matt Hardy, I think AEW is their best fit. I've seen people say they'd be a perfect fit for NWA and while I think that's true in a sense and I could definitely see them go to NWA for a short run, AEW is the place to be right now.

Bittersweet.
I had hoped WWE would come to their senses and realize what they had. But they will catch fire with AEW. They'll be just fine and I'm excited for them.

Absolutely. I'm 99.9999% sure they'll be in AEW essentially "immediately", but considering AEW has stuff taped up until Double or Nothing and likely even after, immediately might be 2 months down the road. Their contracts were coming due very soon, WWE probably just saved themselves a couple months of pay knowing there's really no risk of them showing up and making a huge splash right away.

To be honest, they had a far better WWE run than I expected. For two guys who have very little personality, aren't very intimidating in stature, and started off their main roster run with several injuries, I just assumed they were dead in the water before they got their feet wet. I believe they are the first team to hold the NXT, RAW, & SD tag titles. So all in all, not too shabby.

It's about damn time. I could see them selling cool shirts at pro wrestling tees. Of course I'm also looking forward to them being part of AEW's tag division.

WWE releasing a tag team is never good news, I'm tired of seeing New Day and the Usos.

I enjoyed them. Loved their NXT work which is where I think a lot of tag teams should have stayed. Tag team wrestling just doesnt work on the main roster. Its sad to now know that Shatter Machine will end up being the bitches to the Cruiserweight Rockers

The Boneyard Match was a Master’s thesis in cinematography. The Young Bucks are ing dreadful and not even The Revival can carry them to a match worth watching that isn’t just a car crash spotfest.

I think as much as blame can be put on ‘creative’ or the producers the fact they were on the main rosters for 3 years and I can’t remember a single decent promo or high quality match they had in that time.
Solid workers sure but not the premier act people seem to think they are.
