It's funny they're only working because Vince wants to give people something to watch during this epidemic but yet they are having low record ratings for their shows.

Nothing seems to be working for WWE right now. I'm part of the viewing audience who is tired of seeing the same guys whom I've been seeing for 15-20 years, ala Lesnar and Goldberg, but I can't deny that the post-WM ratings have been in the toilet. I thought there would be a post-WM bump in interest, but that hasn't been the case.

You'd think more people would watch while being stuck at home, but I guess they're too busy playing video games or using tiktok instead.

You'd think more people would watch while being stuck at home, but I guess they're too busy playing video games or using tiktok instead. While a lot of "hardcore" wrestling fans are tuning in or at least keeping up with the shows to a degree, I think a lot of casual viewers or people that used to watch stumbling onto WWE programming can't get past not seeing/hearing a crowd during the shows. During the first no fan Smackdown back in March when all of this started happening, a buddy of mine went out of his way to text me saying "wrestling without fans is lame". That might sound like blanket statement but he actually put in a solid amount of time watching the show before sending that text. I know that doesn't speak for everyone but I would imagine that sentiment resonates with a lot of people who decide to tune in to see what it's like.

Just give them credit and be fortunate they have found a way to give us fresh shows every week. If they couldn’t be done safely, I doubt they would be taking place.
As a fan, I understand it can be hard to watch without fans. I almost threw in the towel the first couple weeks but the empty building shows started to grow on me a little bit once they stopped showing PPV matches to fill time.
I doubt anyone is being forced to work.

I mean, I had internships and jobs where someone would call off sick or for a family emergency and my bosses would immediately think less of that person. It's human nature, I guess. The WWE's lifeblood is their tv deals and they must put out new content 3 times a week. I don't have a problem with that. This was when they were flying talent in (including older people like Lawler) to and from during a pandemic for live shows. The responsible thing to to is tape their content. It was smart of them to tape mania and the next few shows.

They've been running taped content since the lockdown took place. They haven't had talent travel all over the place for weekly tv. Apples and oranges. If an article came out about Tony Khan doing that same stuff, I wouldn't turn a blind eye to it. Honestly, I'd be more upset about it.

I'd rather this not turn into a WWE vs AEW thread, but just passing on the info... It's also been reported that WWE is going back to pretaping shows in the upcoming weeks...
Sounds like both companies are going to be doing things very similar.

Sounds like both companies are going to be doing things very similar. From what I can gather, AEW is running live May 6th and 20th. Everything else will be pre-taped. If WWE is going to tape until July, that's amazing and the most responsible thing they've done since pre-taping mania.

I've noticed that Miz has taken two losses on as many shows since WrestleMania. Is that a coincidence? Maybe, or perhaps it's retribution for missing WM, and reportedly being the reason that Roman Reigns felt unsafe.

I haven't watched the shows since they've went back live. Just not interested in supporting Vince's apparent maneuvers to get his operations deemed "essential".
And the reason the pre-taped shows are coming back is because the networks clarified to them it wouldn't affect the TV deals. Vince's push to get the shows back live reportedly had to do with the limited number of shows WWE were allowed to tape per year (normally reserved for overseas trips and holidays) and a possible effect on their contracts.

Before these last few weeks, he was actually undefeated since mid-2017. Once again, Petty Vince has BERRIED one of his top stars.

Because I distinctly him losing to Shane. Twice.
If that didn't take the wind out of his sails (it did) then a few losses post WM sure won't. Especially now that he's back with Morrison whose still has that newly returned shine still attached to him.

Not counting Royal Rumble, Miz had lost FIVE televised matches in 2020 before WrestleMania. Not sure what this Oldberg dude is smoking.

You know, I don't recall him having a bunch of matches in recent memory overall. I wonder what the ratio is for the past 12 months or so? He seemed to have been relegated to TV Host up until JoMo came back. I'm not sure. I stopped caring about him after MITB. And for the record, I still believe that ending was a botch. I appreciate the fan service, but I don't think it was intentional.
