I sincerely apologize if this has been covered already but...
What is up with the new belts from E78 & 79? Why are they matte? Is this something that is going to continue going forward? Will we get the accurate shiny belts back? It really bums me out to see something like the brand new 24/7 belt be such lame quality.
Thanks for any insight

yea I pre-ordered elite 78 R truth because I figured the belt would be VAC but once the final images came out I was severely disappointed and probably wouldn't of bought if I knew that was the case

Just like the new shirts, reusing accessories and cardboard accessories...

The belt with the RSC Kane was also matte even though we've gotten a vac version of that belt countless times. The price on the line has been the same for years - not a shock that they're cutting corners.

Just like the new shirts, reusing accessories and cardboard accessories... What happened with the shirts? The cynic in me wonders if they'll give Gronk a vac metal 24/7 title.

They are using a new process and makes the shirts look worse, here is an example: New shirt process, letters are faded into the shirt fabric: Old Shirt process, not sure if it was screen printed or what but looks way better!

I find it hilarious how Mattel started cutting more corners right as another wrestling line started.

Are the new belts molded rubber, or are they still individual plates snapped into a separate strap, with the only difference being a matte finish?
Because honestly, the Hardcore Championship that came with Viscera is molded rubber, and I like it a lot. The VAC belts are nice, but they always seem to have a bend or a bow to them from the way they're packaged.

Honestly the pic posted of the shirt I see no real major difference in the pic between Maverick and the Legend Austin shirt. And the 24/7 title doesn’t look bad like other non-vac titles. Maybe these so called “cost cutting” is a way to help keep jobs for the work force. I know my wife’s company is trying so cost cutting measures as a way to save some jobs because of the pandemic.
We don’t know why things are changed, but that shirt doesn’t look any less quality than whet we used to get so if they found a way to cut down on a cost without the quality slipping then maybe someone still has a job and I am fine with that.

I guess that is a bad example. When I get home I will take a better comparison pic. It is definitely a step down

Speaking of E78... Looks like having E77 under the Royal Rumble number helped push E78 out to Target faster.

Honestly, I like the shirt like that (at least for anything that's just white on black). I don't use soft goods shirts too much, but the ones I have always feel like the print on could potentially peel, crack, or flake off over time.

Are we talking all belts or new belts?
Comparing my E78 Kofi SD Tag Title to a previous RAW Tag Team Title belt release, I really can't tell much difference just buy looking at it. I'm MOC, so only so much I can look at, but the plates look exactly the same other than maybe being slightly less shiny with Kofi. The Raw Women's Title with E77 Ronda also looks exactly the same as previous releases.

I'm happy this topic was brought up. I noticed the belt change too. I hope this is not a running change especially now that they have competition with Jaz figures.

Only the SD tag & 24-7 belts are matte. The rest are vac with a lot of paint deco on them. Considering all the new new parts(body parts and accessories) and all the soft goods, I can understand why some belts couldn’t have been vac. Anyone calling Mattel out for being cheap need to Relook at Io Shirai, Bobby Fish, Matt Riddle & Naomi.

The older shirts were screen prints. It looks like the new process is selective dye. The screen print will always look sharper because the decal is a derect application, whereas selective dye allows ink to bleed.
I agree that the screen printing looks better, and I'll also warn you guys that the selective dye process is almost certainly going to cause staining. Be careful. Unless you're never intending to remove the shirt from the figure, I would display them without the cloth goods or at least wash the shirts on delicate in cold water to help remove excess dye and lock in the rest.

So what can I use to track down E78 for popfindr? Assuming it’s not the Royal Rumble sku or whatever
