So the game that's taken everyone by storm in recent weeks, surpassing the new game Fall Guys, is a game that was released two and a half years ago.
For those who don't know what it is, think Mafia or Werewolf. There are six to ten players in a round, you have your mic muted while in game. Your job list will have you going to do mini games, like connecting the correct colored wires, you have to play an in game version of Simon th cool the nuclear reactors, there's a radio frequency game that you have to match wavelengths and stuff like that. The goal is to work together without talking to either complete all of the tasks, or complete a decent enough percentage. That you make it it back to Earth in one piece by the time limit. Sounds simple, eh?
Well, depending on how many players you have, anywhere from one to three of your fellow crewmates are imposters. Their whole goal is to sabotage the ship so it can't make it to port. They can break stuff others have fixed, they can cause some real hell. And because of the whole keep to yourself theme, all any player, real or imposter, can see is what's in their direct line of cone vision. The imposters also have the ability to kill crewmembers. If they kill enough and don't get caught, that's another win condition.
But here's the catch. When an imposter kills someone, whomever finds the decapitated body has to hit the report body, emergency meeting button. That's when you unmute, and you have forty seconds for everyone (but the dead people) to talk amongst themselves. Corroborate stories, try to catch a lie, whatever. And at the end of the meeting you have to vote in whom you think is the imposter. Person with the most votes gets absolutely YEETED into space, and it will say something as their dead body passes like...
@ballparkb0b has been ejected. They were not an imposter. (Or, if they were, it'll say that too.)
If there is a tie, no one is ejected. And you also have the option to not cast a vote, those are generally saved for when no one has ANY guesses in who the killer is, or sometimes even by the killer to fit in. After voting and the YEETing, the game continues, you mute your mics again and we keep going until we get to Game ends with the crew winning if they finish the final round with more players alive than the imposters, have all 100%'d their maintenance lists, or if they eject all of the imposters. The imposters win if they kill everyone until there are more imposters than there are crew, if they sabotage the ship enough that it just crashes.
The game costs anywhere from $2 to $5 depending on on if there's a sale on Steam. And the game could literally run on the most potato computer or laptop.
For those who've heard of it or have it, would you maybe wanna do a couple hours of a session maybe at some point? And for those of you who don't have the game but like the concept idea that I mentiones earlier in the post, would you consider maybe getting the game of it's on sale or for 4.99 to play in and Among Us game night as well? I think it would be a fun game since if like to thing that most of us are friends on here, because for the most part most of us get along. But it would also be funny for everyone to get mad at each other whenever they can't figure out who the Imposter is. Or everybody just start blaming me or Jack because they think because we're the admins we somehow have magical control over the random choosing of spots who's the Imposter and who is a regular crew member.
I would also be willing to do a game of Mafia or werewolf if you would want to play that instead since it's entirely free. The only difference is we will have to figure it out because you need to have a FaceCam I might for a Zoom conversation for Mafia or Werewolf to work. Whereas went among us all you need is just a headset for the 40 seconds per round that you talk.

All I know is the memes are annoying lol. Fall Guys looks fun, but I have XB1. I play it on my $99 craptop, personally. Both Fall Guys and Among Us. There's also a free version of the game in the Google Play store or the App Store. Same game, same everything except unlike the paid version of Among Us on the PC the free version on mobile has like a 10-second at after the game is over win or lose.

Revealing who is and isn't an impostor upon ejection takes out all of the fun if you're playing more than one impostor. Shut that option off and watch everyone eat each other until the game ends.

That's...actually genius. I mean, if there's three and the third gets ejected, I don't mind the game ending because at that point, what's the point? Especially if the emergency button has been used. But I love this.

I would love to get in on this if it's at an acceptable UK time or a night before a non-work day. Also what's the new Jackbox pack like bad guy™?

I had it pre-ordered kn Xbox and was planning a day one stream but my Xbox died a week ago and Microsoft hasn't really given me any update other than they're working on it.

But I love this. That's the fun of it. I mean, we play that way even with one imposter, but if you've got 2-3, it adds an extra level of paranoia having people get ejected and not knowing for certain where you're at until the game ends one way or the other. EDIT because Markw asked: Jackbox 7 is a mixed bag, like any other. My group's favorites so far are Talking Points and Blather 'Round. Champ'd Up was fun, but we only played it the once, and we all kinda unanimously agreed that Devils and the Details was too long, too tedious, and not that fun. Quiplash is Quiplash, but I like the new third round better than the "1 of 3" from QL2. The custom game allows you to make your own third round questions now, too, which is an added bonus.
