It feels like WWE is turning into WCW. AEW is becoming the WWF Attitude Era by coming up with exciting characters and promoting their wrestlers like big timers. While WWE is becoming the same old story like how WCW used NWO and their wrestlers well past their prime in popularity. What you think? Agreed. Up-and-comers like Sting, Goldust and Chris Jericho will turn the balance of power in wrestling. They are truly the new Rock, Stone Cold and Kane. McMahon family in shambles trying to rely on old-timers like Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre and Sasha Banks. You forgot to add Goldberg to that list.

lol Sure. I'm talking about the guy that won the Universal title this year from a younger top talent in a real lame WCW moment.

People who hate on todays WWE seriously need to watch Raw's from 07/10. That was one of the worst periods in WWE history, you had guest hosts, clone wrestlers with zero character and the worst version ever of DX. Todays WWE is oozing with talent who put on great matches. It's not perfect but nothing is.
I'm an AEW fan but it will never scratch WWE and I'm tired of people watching it with rose tinted glasses. You have a 60 year old Sting debut and people act like it's the best thing ever, but if WWE did the same they would be criticised for robbing younger wrestlers of TV time.

I saw the tail end of it with my youngest brother and it definitely wasn't great. This company has been around for so long that anyone could point to any stretch and pick it apart. Every era of WWF/WWE I've watched had stuff I didn't care for. AEW has stuff that's sucked and I've been one of the most critical people in that board. NJPW was rad for like this last decade but it had its fill of cringe (I'm on the verge of dropping it altogether now). I'm fine with Sting in AEW unless he starts going over younger talent. Sting as AEW champion would be the worst. That said, WWE currently has the greatest roster in the entire history of wrestling and they have one 5 star caliber match this year (not to open the star rating can of worms). They should be having must see episodes every single week. I put the current output worse than 07-10. Again, I miss the days WWE was must see. I hope they start putting an emphasis on wrestling again soon, but I'm not holding my breath.

I was (and still am) fine with Jericho beating Page. That started a (still) ongoing story about Page. Goldberg flew in for a Blood Money show to beat the Champion of the top show and then The Fiend moved on like nothing happened. For total transparency, I thought a ton of the Monday Night Wars was absolute garbage. For every Finger Poke of Doom, WWF did stuff just as lame. That stuff and current WWE just aren't for me.

lol I knew exactly what this thread was going to be when I opened it. "You're 2001 WCW!" "No ... you're 2001 WCW!" I see people say 2001 WCW by accident sometimes. 2001 WCW was actually good, believe it or not. 1999/2000 is the trash heap Looking at you Bash at the Beach 2000

Talk about rose-tinted glasses. I really wouldn't want to be compared to either promotion from that period. Yeah it was the most popular it's ever been, but that doesn't equal being the best. That would be like calling McDonald's the best restaurant.

That roster was stacked and the matches were amazing at times. The current roster is stacked and there's almost nothing worth bragging about.

WWE became WCW when they started having part-timers main event WrestleMania every year. For a company that bragged so much during the Monday Night War about the youth of their roster and not needing to rely on old timers, times have really changed.
