You know, the more I look at that Brandi on my wall, the more I like her. I never had the option for figure defenders on my old MOC figures, plus the presentation of the old early 2000s figures wasn't too impressive.
but looking at Brandi, I don't know. I kind of like it.
I might have to get a couple more nice ones to experiment with. Maybe Funhouse Bray, although I'd be terribly tempted to try and swap the actual Elite inside with the basic FFH Bray. It's far superior.

Loose. I don’t get MOC logic. It takes up space and you basically purchased just to stare at it. You might as well print a picture of it. There's actually something to this. For myself, anyway.
As I have said many many times, I have OCD, and it's triggered by patterns. But what it's also triggered by is incomplete collections/sets of things.
At one point, I was trying hard to complete a few choice Master Sets. However, when it came down to the tail end of the one set, the price of each remaining card went from 20 bucks to 80 really fast, going to 200 after that. I have 5 (i think) cards remaining to get in the set and, for awhile, it bothered me immensely because there was an empty spot there that I couldn't afford to fill.
So, what did I do? I found pictures of the cards online, printed them off, and stashed them in the slots as placeholders.
Don't laugh, it works wonders.
Plus, if you look at comic books? One of the more popular varieties of Variant Covers is the "Action Figure Cover" which is mocked up to look like a MOC Figure. I see these all the time, especially when I'm trying to look for *actual* action figures and my search terms are too broad.
So while it may seem absurd to keep figures on card because "You could just print a photo", remember - the concept of "Collectible Photos" isn't a wild as you might think.

The loose figures I have just sit on a desk and get stared at the same way my MOC do, so what’s the difference?

Both, if I like the way it looks in the box I'll keep it like that, but I do love opening a figure and checking out the details.

I am more of a moc man myself I just find that with figures becoming more sophisticated with extra hands and heads that it kind of spoils the way that they look in the box. I love my Ultimate Edition Ultimate Warrior for example, but the extra hands and head just look weird in the box.

Been a loosy goosy since day one ish, but I’ve started a MOC AEW collection now as well. Limiting myself to only AEW MOC because there’s just so much WWE stuff I couldn’t do it and don’t need two of everything made since 2010 god that would kill so much money and also space. AEW has nice uniform packaging and less releases so I’ll be able to manage it. Not holding myself to being a MOC completionist either. No MOC scale ring or UK Cody bundle and can’t be too worried about chases. There’s so few chase Codys/Jerichos in MOC condition that I don’t know if I’d ever even find one I consider pristine enough to go into my MOC collection anyway; the only ones I’ve seen that look mint are the ones Jermey personally gave to people. Currently debating if I need the Golden Elite Young Bucks MOC too since I’m going to get Series 1 MOC.
All that said I have some WWE stuff MOC but it’s not something I do often. It has to be a very important attire or have a lot of sentimental value to me. Like SDCC Undertaker and E16 Punk/Nash

I am strictly MOC, and as someone already said on here it takes up an enormous amount of space. So much that I had to rent a storage room just to keep it all in until we get a bigger house with a spare bedroom to store them all. I hope to open a shop someday or an online store selling both old and new figures, mainly to collectors for fair prices and not scalper prices. That's my goal anyway. I have a few loose figures that I've picked up here and there at flea markets and garage sales, but I rarely ever buy them. Most of my loose ones are old LJNs or Hasbros.

I'm primarily a loose collector, but I have some MOC because I like the character or (more often) because I bought and planned to open and then didn't get around to it.

Everything I own is loose except for 1 of each single carded super minty Alexa Bliss Mattel figure which are lined on the top of the wall over collection section.

I personally started as a loose collector, then transitioned into MOC, then began buying duplicates of special releases to have both. Years ago I sold off most of my collection and there was about two years where I wouldn't even look at toys.
A couple years ago I allowed myself to transition back into figure collecting. Now I'm a much more discriminating collector and buy very little to keep MOC. As a cherry-picker now, there are certain pieces I buy duplicates of, but these are very particular pieces.
As an example, as far as wrestling stuff goes, I only buy Legends/Flashbacks and I open most of them. However, I weirdly LOVE the MOTWWEU series, so I buy each Legend released in this set in duplicates so I can have one to open.
Right now I've become very involved with Marvel Legends, NECA Godzilla & horror and DC Multiverse by McFarlane. I have wanted a Flashpoint (Thomas Wayne) Batman figure for ages, and there's one coming to Target exclusively soon. I'm very excited for that figure and if I find it, I'll likely buy two so I have one to display MOC.

I keep a chunk MOC but there is a certain criteria it has to meet.
1. Box must be unique, see Defining Moments vs. Standard Elite box
2. Figure must be posed/look "right" in plastic.
The rest I open but keep my boxes (not unlike Hallmark ornaments) in the attic or in the basement.

I was MOC for my first 6/7 years of collecting but last 18 months it’s just clear as a U.K. collector it’s impossible to get true MOC. I collect Mania 1 to 2002 which was when I stopped religiously watching WWE and those guys often don’t come to the U.K. so I can’t go and choose a mint box from a store, I have to order from the US and they just kept arriving damaged, even from Amazon and it’s exhausting having to try and get replacements. Most recently ordered The Rock ultimate edition from Amazon and they sent it from the US in a Jiffy bag!!! As you can imagine the box was wrecked and it’s the first time I was able to laugh about it rather than get hot about it because I knew I would be opening it.
That combined with cost and rapidly running out of space plus the fact my figures were just sat piled in big plastic boxes meant if I wanted to continue to collect it had to be loose.
I’ll be keeping some MOC like MOC Legends Rockers and Demolition and a few DMs that I can’t bring myself to open but I’ve started to open and display the rest of my collection on shelves and risers.
Only thing is, they are open to ‘the elements’ whatever that is in a bedroom office 😅 - seen a lot of people mention dust, how bad is this for those who have loose collections? Is it actually damaging to the figures? Or just annoying that you have to or choose to dust them?

I have a mixture of both. Some figures look great packaged to the point where I would not be able to display them much better than they are packed. Some have awesome packaging (taker as kane) which looks too cool to remove. If it's a figure I really like i will try to double up to get one to keep moc and one loose. I only collect a few wrestlers so I do not have too many to worry about at the moment.

That's hilarious dude. Got a great laugh from it, although mostly out of sheer amusement of watching people go "WTF?" at you just wiping out halfway through the store. I really don't think any of them cared about the figure. Still really funny though. And as for the figure itself? Yeah, that's a pretty blah exclusive. One of the least popular they've made, if this years poll is anything to go by.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Hahaha. Pretty sure no one cared about the figure but it broke my fall a couple of times so there's that 😂
You're right. As good of a figure it is, it's not one that'll have many people going out of their way to search for. The Collector Editions are often the ones that shelf warm over here in New Zealand so hopefully this video helped clear the shelves a bit...

Primarily a loose collector. I do have a MOC DM Bret Hart (my favorite) and a MOC Retrofest Flair (great packaging). So it's case by case but 9/10 I'm opening em up.
