I have collected Jakks figures and was pretty complete with the Classics. I thought I have sold everything but found my MIB real scale WM2 ring with cage the other day. I am now debating if I should sell it or keep it for the Mattel Elite / Ultimate Edition figures for photography. However I don’t want to open it just to realize it is out of scale for the Mattel figures. I remember the real scale rings from Jakks have been pretty big. Does anybody have a lose one and can give me some input for my decision?
Thanks!

The scale is fine - better than Mattel's scale ring to be truthful. Mattel's ring is 22"x22" and the Jakks one is 21"x21" - both rings are good, it all comes down to personal preference.

It will work fine for figure photography with Mattel figures. I prefer the WCT Authentic ring myself but I would be just as happy with the jakks one.

I currently have one of each. I feel the WCT rings are built better in terms of durability, but the Jakks rings are a better size and have diecast ring posts, which I like.
On a random note, has anyone found any substitutes for the legs on the Jakks RSR? They seem so thin and fragile I worry they will bend and snap over time. The middle brackets are already worrying but thankfully I have already learned a hack for that on here.

I have the WM2 w/ cage ring and it is the perfect scale for Mattel figs. Just know that even if you just use it for display only, the ropes will eventually go slack and need to be replaced.

I use the WM1 ring and i love it and my white rope is super loose even though I've only used it for display. Do you know where replacement ropes can be found?

Otherwise, you can make your own using elastic cord. I did this once and made a set of black, white, red, and blue. They worked pretty well, just had to dismantle one of the old ropes to cut them to size.
