FYI, I certainly wasn't trying to be rude or elitist pun intended.
I've been a Marvel Legends collector primarily and in that community posing and articulation is the demand. Different strokes for different folks. I get it. Not everybody photographs or poses these things.

I'm just don't understand the market for legends in basic form. Most of us loose collectors really aren't after limited articulation figures. I cringe when I see every Ruthless Aggression era Shawn Michaels made as a basic. So many good attires have been completely wasted in the basic line imo, and I just don't see the point of it? I'm not into the AEW line at all, but I do they like how they're avoiding making limited articulation figures completely. Maybe I'm alone on this one? Which RA hbks are you referring to? I’m just curious, pics if you got them would be appreciated thanks WrestleMania 21, 22, 23, 24. SummerSlam 2005. So on and so forth, Shawn had so many great attires back then that all deserve Elite figures.

because basics are cheaper than elites non collectors cant tell the difference between elite and basic.
I had a toy store for a couple of years and it was mind numbing trying to explain the difference to parents. 99% of the time they went with the basics because they were cheaper.

I'm actually surprised they don't make more legends in the basic line. A lot of the classic guys require less deco because they had more simplistic attire. Plus a lot of the 80s guys have become so iconic that I think they'd garner a decent amount of impulse buys just from people seeing them on the shelves. I magine that something like a simple red & yellow Hogan basic would be a very easy figure to sell.

He can't do a Big Boot but many think his torso is better than the one on his DM figure.

I didn't want to pay $80 for the DM knowing that Mattel will probably release a superior Hogan figure for less later this year.

Don't mind basic legends but they have screwed up every Trunks macho Long tights HHH Hall We have gotten in basic. The SummerSlam Heritage one? They give him the wrong boots. He should have the tall boots when wearing the long tights.

Every basic Warrior have been great. It’s the perfect way to get out his less elaborate attire.

The basic surfer stings are a disappointment for me To your credit I do feel some have been disappointments. That being said, I do think that the network spotlight orange surfer sting is one of the best basics in existence. Certainly you can tell that some wrestlers are more aesthetically pleasing then others in the basic format. Sting, hogan, warrior are some great examples. Otherwise realistically you wouldn’t even have them represented in “said” attires otherwise. I mean look at the big picture here, they can’t make every popular wrestler in every iconic attire in elite form. That’s just not realistic. Personally I hate Bret Hart basics, it just doesn’t look right for his body compared to his elites. At the end of the day the human form is a complicated subject and lot more complicated then a lot of you take for granted for.

Well mattel's theory of "Legends are aimed towards adults" doesnt mix with "retailers want a $10 toy for "kids".....No reason to make a basic legend if a kid nor an adult doesnt want it.

I’m sure this doesn’t mean the top ten legends and we all know which names that applies for, let’s not kid ourselves. They are probably referring to the more deep cut characters in that respect. But hey, no one is perfect.

To diversify the offerings available to those who collect Basics? Why does every Basic gripe thread here operate under the predisposed assumption that nobody collects Bacis? This is me. I'm a Basics guy and love when Legends are made that way. I just wish there were even more of them. Like how every Elite set has a Legend I wish every Basic set would as well.

I mean we all like our obscure names but seriously? For the record I’d love a Schwartz figure no matter what form it would be.

No. Maybe I misread but I'm saying Mattel isn't going to say no Basic Legends they just aren't going to make guys like Abe. Like they made Virgil Elite. They aren't going to make a Basic Virgil. Same with Red Rooster and The Shark. It's aimed towards collectors and they, for the most part, prefer Elites. I'm a Basics guy and I'd like guys other than the big ones like Savage and Warrior but I know that won't happen.

Which sucks, because a figure in his red and white tights would be perfect for the basic line.
