I'm just don't understand the market for legends in basic form. Most of us loose collectors really aren't after limited articulation figures.
I cringe when I see every Ruthless Aggression era Shawn Michaels made as a basic. So many good attires have been completely wasted in the basic line imo, and I just don't see the point of it?
I'm not into the AEW line at all, but I do they like how they're avoiding making limited articulation figures completely.
Maybe I'm alone on this one?

I dont see anything wrong with that. Before the change in articulation, there were some great Basic legends figures like NS Sting, Summerslam Heritage Million Dollar Man, various Ultimate Warriors, BP41 Ric Flair, B58 Paul Orndorff, Road Warriors in blue, etc. Not everything has to or can be an Elite, especially with all those lines like Defining Moments, Flashbacks, Entrance Greats, Network Spotlight, Hall of Champions, etc getting cancelled.

Seeing they are all standing in vanilla stances on my shelves I will take legends however they give them to us.

Yeah I don’t mind basics, unless we get a figure that would otherwise have more entrance gear or deco and being done as a basic limits that. But there are plenty basic Warriors that work great as a basic because they’re plain. Same can be said for many legends... Andre, Hogan to name a couple

Some of my favorite figures from the entire line are basics. Series 37 Mr.Perfect, FB series Green Million Dollar Man and FB series Ric Flair for example.

Wish that perfect was elite though.

To diversify the offerings available to those who collect Basics?
Why does every Basic gripe thread here operate under the predisposed assumption that nobody collects Bacis?

I guess I see it the complete opposite way. I'm an adult, and the figures are just standing on my shelves. I couldn't care less about articulation.
There are some figures where the added accessories or deco are really important and make for great Elites. But there are a lot of really well done basics that are some of my favorites in my collection. If it's a question of paying $10 for a well done basic or paying $20 for the same figure with articulation and some garbage accessories I'll throw in a box, I'm taking the cheaper option every time.

As a basic collector I for one want more thank you. 1 paltry Jake the Snake?! No 2001 or 2003 Kane’s. 1 Rick Rude. Need more 90’s warriors. More Foleys. No neon tights Savages etc...

I mean, obviously I'd prefer any and all Legends in the Elite/Ultimate Edition style, but that being said, I still have my fair share of basics and some of them are still really great...the Ring Cart Andre most recently comes to mind.
But even then, if nothing else I can appreciate that it's been another outlet to get more figures of Legends as opposed to having to wait for the main lines.
I'll also pick up a basic that might have a newer/better head sculpt, or maybe arms with new tattoos, etc, and I'll swap it onto an existing Elite.
Lastly, the final thing I'll throw out there is, even though it's a rare occurrence, every so often we'll get a basic that never gets an Elite/UE...probably the most infamous one for me personally is Sid in the blue trunks. Now, rumor is we're getting a new Elite Sid in the near future, but we don't know what attire, era, or parts choices he will have if and when he comes. I'm hoping it's simply an elite version of that basic, but if it isn't I will continue to appreciate blue trunks Sid until a superior one comes out

There is nothing wrong with them releasing legends in the basic line. Why should it only be limited to only the current roster? If a kid wants to get an HBK or a a Stone Cold, but their parent can only afford to get them a basic, then the problem is solved, otherwise, they wouldn't get it. And you can't just save all of the best attires for elites, because at the end of the day, they need to sell them, and if no one bought basics, the line wouldn't be where it is today without it. And sometimes, the basics can be better than the elites, whether that's the overall look of the figure, or the extra articulation and accessories don't make it worth the price, I love the Firefly Fun House basic Bray, in my opinion, it's way better than the elite.

Be cause if they made them all as elites, we would never get my absolute favorite type of wfigs thread. "Man I swear that *insert figure here* is amazing, but unfortunately I only collect elites". As if someone loses 10 nerd points for owning a ing basic.
