(We see both HBK and Hall arrive in a split screen. The instant both step out of their rides, they are surrounded by security and escorted into the arena. "Rise Up" plays over the Smackdown intro video, and we cut to the arena, where Commissioner Foley is already in the ring.)
Foley: Welcome, to the final FWA Smackdown before Bound For Glory. We are proud to bring this show from....Detroit, Michigan (cheap pop). We have a blockbuster show for you tonight. One week ago, we banned Scott Hall and Shawn Michaels from the arena, and demanded that they choose each other's opponents on Sunday. Tonight, we find our who they picked. But we won't just announce it. Tonight, Scott Hall will introduce Shawn Michael's opponent at Bound For Glory as his tag team partner, as Shawn Michael's will do the same.
JR: What an incredible main event!
Tenay: That is a unique way to introduce both men to their opponents in three days.
Foley: But, we have another big match. On Sunday, Kane must face both Umaga and Sabu. We can't even the odds at Bound for Glory...but tonight...
(Raven's music hits and he comes out.)
Raven: I know you're not going to try to change Kane's match at Bound For Glory...
Foley: No, Raven. I am a man of my word. You guys won the stipulation match. You get the stipulation you chose. Sunday, we will see the handicapped match you have chosen.
But tonight, TONIGHT, we see what would happen if Kane had a fair match. So we will see Sabu and Umage vs Kane....and the UNDERTAKER.
(Raven gotes insane on the stage.)
Foley: That's not all, Raven. Earlier today, Finley begged for a match. So, come Sunday, you two will have a Belfast Bar Brawl. In case you are wondering what that is, we have rented out O'Reilley's Irish Pub. The two of your will be locked in there with a ref. There will be no rules. But the first man to tap out or be deemed unable to continue will be the loser.
JR: What an amazing set of announcements.
Tenay: What a display of sticking it to the flock.
JR: Most people would call this just desserts.
Tenay: Maybe losers who need Foley to win.
Foley: But we have far too much to do tonight to deal with the Flock all night. We have matches to get to...
(Christopher Daniels music plays and he comes out.)
Tenay: After Red got the pin over Daniels on Raw, the Fallen Angel demanded a one on one match tonight to show who is the better man.
(Amazing Red comes out. As he steps into the ring, Daniels tries to hit the Angel's wings immediately, but Red reverses it into a backdrop. He does for the Dead Drop, but Daniels counters into a urinagi. Not going for the pin, he picks Red up for a second. Once more, and this time he hits the Blue Thunder Driver.)
JR: One has to wonder both why Daniels is going for all of his big moves now and not going for the pin.
Tenay: Both questions are easy to answer. Daniels has one of the biggest X Division matches in history on Sunday. He is coming off a major 3 on 3 from three days ago. He is both battered and wanting to save himself for the main event in 3 days.
JR: Then why did he demand a match tonight?
(Going for a BME, Daniels takes too long, and allows Red to get his knees up. Daniels hits the Code Red spinning kick. Climbing to the top he hits the Red Eye. Daniels kicks out at 2. He tries to set up the Code Red, but Daniels grabs the ropes. Red runs straight into a DVD. Daniels pins but Red barely kicks out at three, Picking him up for the finish, Daniel tries once more for the Angel's Wings, but Red blocks. Reversing into a nasty suplex, he quickly hits the Red Dead Press for the win.)
Jr: That is a massive momentum builder headed into Sunday. Red has won both of his matches since coming to FWA.
(Backstage, we have the highlight reel set up.)
Jericho: One upon a time I tried to come up with catchy names like "Raw is Jericho". But, at this point, let's be honest. I'm on screen. You're watching. Because that's how it works. Jericho=ratings. I don't need to be witty. I don't need to try. I show up, and asses get put in seats. Me phoning it in is better than anyone else's A game. Tonight, I have the man who was originally expected to win the Royale Rumble, the Rated R superstar, Edge. So, Edge, how does it feel to be the biggest disappointment of the year so far.
Edge: (trying to compose himself) Well, Jericho, I....
Jericho: Despite deliberately booking yourself at number one, Vegas had 1:2 odds on you winning. 40% of all bets were on you. The world was watching, holding their breath and....though they thought they knew you, you let them down.
Edge: (Trying to compose himself) No one was more disappointed...
Jericho: That's not true. Hundreds of thousands of people bet on you as the odds on favorite . Everyone expected you to win, and you failed them.
Edge: It's not...
Jericho: You let the world down, Edge. You let the FWA fans down. And if that's not bad enough, ever since Royale Rumble, you have been further disappointing everyone. Just
last Monday, you lost to Kenzo Suzuki in perhaps the first clean win Kyo Dai have had in a year. How does that make you feel to be the only person they don't feel they need to cheat to beat? How does it make you feel to be a complete disappointment to your family, your friends, your children....
(Edge spears him out of nowhere.)
Edge: How do you feel after I put you down you son of a bitch? How does it feel to have your rib cage pushed through your spine? Who the &*%^ do you think you are to talk about my family, my friends? You want to disrespect me? (stomps away) You think you're funny you piece of trash? How about we have a whole new surprise at Bound For
Glory? We'll create a whole new betting scheme, when I cripple you and end your career. You can laugh about how I don't main event Wrestlemania while you watch it from home in a wheelchair.
(We fade back to the Arena, where Psychosis and Rey Mysterio are already in the ring. Tajiri's music hits and he slowly makes his way to the ring.)
Jr: Tajiri looks like a dog being walked into the euthanasia chamber.
Tenay: He's walking into a handicapped match, and he can't have backup.
JR: This is a triple threat, Mike. And the ban is to prevent Tajiri from cheating, like ALWAYS.
(As soon as Tajiri makes his way into the ring, he is double teamed. Rey and Psychosis do not face each other at any point, solely focusing on Tajiri as a team.)
Tenay: Not a handicap, huh?
JR: It is scheduled as a triple threat.
Tenay: How is that working?
(After several minutes of innovative new tag moves, Pychosis lifts Tajiri into a back suplex, but drops him face first in the ropes. Rey hits the 619, and follows it with the dropping the dime. Psychosis lands to top rop leg drop and bth men pin him.)
Tenay: Oh, yeah. That was a fair match.
JR: Maybe not. But it is exactly what the fans wanted. And, after what Tajiri has done to these two men, exactly what he deserves.
(After the ref counts the three, Akio, Sakoda and Funaki run out to help Tajiri.)
Tenay: Now, the odds are evened!
JR: In what world is four on two even?
(Shortly after, Ultimo Dragon and Super Crazy run out for the save. As they chase Kyo Dai out of the ring, Commissioner Foley comes to the stage.)
Foley: Well, for the past month, we have seen that every match involving Rey Mysterio or Psychosis will inevitably get all of Kyo Dai involved. So, at Bound for Glory, all four members of Kyo Dai here will face off against Rey Mysterio and his partner, Ultimo Dragon, as well as Psychosis and Super Crazy. And, since we don't want to play by the FWA rulebook, that four on four match will be decided under Lucha Libre rules.
JR: What a coup for Rey and Psychosis!
Tenay: Could Foley stack the deck anymore against Kaodai?
(When we return from commercial, the Pride's music hits and Alpha Male leads Mark Henry and MVP to the ring. Alpha Male pauses after his signature taunt and signals for someone else. Grudgingly, Bobby Lashley comes out to ringside.)
Tenay: Godfather truly has a death wish. There are easier ways to commit suicide than by taking on the whole Pride.
JR: Well, he won't be doing it by himself. But...this is not what I expected when he threatened MVP on Raw. I do not envy him tonight.
(Once the Pride is in the ring, Godfather's music hits. He pauses on the ramp, until R-Truth's music hits. Finally, Rhyno joins them.)
JR: Rhyno evens the odds a little...but I still don't like their odds.
(As Rhyno makes his way down, MVP grabs a microphone.)
MVP: Now that truly is a surprise, Godfather. Well done. Well done. But if we're going to have Rhyno out here...then we're still missing someone to truly make this complete. So, I think we need one last surprise...
(MNM's music hits and Nitro comes grinning to the ring in a ref shirt.)
Tenay: It appears Godfather has been outmanuevered.
JR: And things go from bad to worse.
(Godfather starts off the match versus MVP. He quickly takes control, taking MVP to the mat in a submission. Though he gets out, Godfather quickly evades him and belly to back suplexes him into a cover, but Nitro refuses to count. As Godfather argues, MVP gets a quick rollup. Nitro's quick count almost gets the pinfall, but Godfather barely kicks out. As MVP tosses Godfather into the ropes, Rhyno tags himself in, leading to MVP retreating to tag in Mark Henry.)
JR: MVP wanted no part of that.
Tenay: It's called strategy, JR. Let the most powerful man on your team take on the most powerful man on their team.
JR: Or cowardice.
(Rhyno tries to tie up with Henry, but gets tossed across the ring. He tries to take Henry down, but gets clubbed to the ground. No matter what he tries, Henry throws him like a rag doll. Rhyno tags in Truth, who tries several flying moves, but just bounces off Henry. Crushing Truth in the corner with a running splash, he forces him to tag in Godfather, and drags him into the ring. He crushes Godfather and lands a World's Strongest Slam. MVP begs for the tag, and Henry goes over to him.)
JR: Of course, now he wants back in.
Tenay: He wants to build momentum going into Bound For Glory. Nothing wrong with that.
(MVP runs in for the Ballin' Elbow. He plays to the crowd for a while and then goes for the playmaker, but he has taken too long and Godfather reverses it into the Pimp Drop.
When Nitro refuses to count the pin again, Godfather crawls over and tags in Truth again.)
JR: This is ridiculous. The match would be over with a real ref.
Tenay: Godfather didn't want a normal match remember? He wanted a one upsman contest. Seems he's losing.
(As Truth rushes in, MVP makes a desparate tag to Alpha Male. Dodging Truth, he pounces Rhyno off the ring apron into the announcers table, and kicks Godfather outside, pushing him off the apron. Truth spins him and starts hammering away, but Nitro pulls him off. Truth pushes him and gets a superkick, staggering back into a pounce and a pin.)
Tenay: When Godfather said he had something for MVP tonight, he didn't realize it was a gift. He thought he had MVP's number, and it backfired horribly.
(Backstage, Heidenreich is donning the gear, when the Gymini rush and decimate him. They pound away at him, until he is bleeding.)
Jake: We have a message for your buddy, Animal...well, actually, you're the message. Sunday, he gets to look just. Like. You.
(They cross trainer him right onto his shoulder pads. They stomp away until they are pulled off by the refs.)
Jesse: Tell him he'll be sorry he came back. This time we're going to send him home perminently. In a bag.
(We come back to the arena, where Hogan, Show and Steiner are already making their way to the ring to the nWo music. As they finish, Flair's music hits and he comes to the ramp with DDP. He prances to the ring as RVD's music hits.)
Tenay: This odd couple match up shows the continued power play between these two factions. Hogan will be busy with Rob Van Dam on Sunday, while Flair can be ringside for the three on three.
JR: While neither team has officially been announced, there's not many choices for the nWo. Scott Hall will be dealing with Shawn Michaels hand picked champion, while Kevin Nash will certainly be ringside.
(Flair starts the match off with Steiner, chopping away. Though the blows rock Steiner back, he quickly recovers and begins suplexing Flair around. With each toss, he calls him Michaels and talks trash. Hogan demands he tag out to Show.)
JR: Steiner has gone completely unhinged. All he can think about is Shawn Michaels.
Tenay: He feels he was robbed of the belt. He wants it back.
(Reluctantly, Steiner tags in Show. Show comes in and tries to cave in Flair's chest with massive slaps. Hitting the Hog Log, he goes for the pin, but DDP breaks it up. Show tries to get revenge, but DDP hits the Diamond Cutter on top of the ropes. AS Show falls, Flair makes the tag to RVD. Running and hitting a spin kick on Steiner, he delivers a Rolling Thunder to Show. Demanding a chair from DDP, he hits a Van Daminator to Hogan as he tries to enter the ring, busting him open. The ref calls for the bell as officials
check on Hogan.)
Tenay: What a disappointing end to the match. RVD knew he couldn't win, so he got Dqed.
JR: I think he was more interested in payback. But I am hearing that Commissioner Foley has decided that the match will continue without Rob Van Dam. And since officials are checking on Hogan, I'd have to guess he is out too.
(DDP continues the match against Steiner. Though Steiner is able to outfinesse DDP, Page hits a Diamond Cutter out of nowhere. Before he can pin, Show pulls him out of the ring and, pulling back the mat, chokeslams him on the exposed concrete. Flair chops him repeatedly, ducks a massive fist and chop blocks his leg. While he's down, Flair kicks his head into the ring post. Sliding back in, he takes out Steiner's leg and locks him in the Figure Four. While Steiner is struggling to the ropes, Hogan hobbles back into the ring and hits the leg drop on Flair for the win. The nWo raise their hands over Flair as we go to commercial.)
(As we return, Umaga and Sabu are already in the ring. Kane's music hits and the pyros blow. As the explosion fades, the arena goes to black for Taker's music. The two come out together, with a mixture of fire and smoke, the eerie blue lighting accentuated by the burning pyres.)
JR: That eerie entrance from the Brothers of Destruction has to chill the blood of anyone watching. I cannot even imagine what it is like to be in the ring knowing that that is what awaits you.
Tenay: And yet, neither man looks even remotely cowed. That's probably because the Samoan Bulldozer has been the object of as much fear as the Deadman. And the Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal Sabu is afraid of nothing. He is what Chuck Norris looks under his bed for at night.
(The Brothers step into the ring, and before they can finish their entrances, Sabu and Umaga rush them. The four men begin trading blows. Umaga backs Kane into the corner, but Taker clotheslines Sabu over the ropes. The Brothers then double team Umaga. They go to double suplex him, but, as they lift him, Sabu comes back and springboards off the ropes, dropkicking Taker. This allows Umaga to drop back and suplex Kane instead. Pushing Kane back into the corner, Umaga drops to his hands and knees, allowing Sabu to use him as a chair to springboard into Kane with a whisper in the wind. AS he stumbles out, Umaga hits the Samoan Spike and Kane rolls out of the ring. Taker slides back in to try and chokeslam him, but a somersault senton into Undertaker's back from Sabu stuns him. A Samoan Spike later, and Umaga gets the pin on the Deadman.)
JR: I can't believe it! The Flock have just destroyed the Brothers of Destruction!
Tenay: What a huge win, going into Bound For Glory!
(Cutting backstage we see Terkay confront Angle.)
Terkay: I'm sure you saw on Monday where Elijah Burke challenged Orlando Jordan to a match on sunday.
Angle: Of course I did stupid. What about it?
Terkay: I'm tired of fighting through proxies. Since they are fighting because of us, what do you say we make it a tag match? .
Angle: You. Are. On. I've been waiting to break your damned ankle for months.
JR: What an announcement going into Bound For Glory.
Tenay: Let us remind you of what you have to look forward to in just 48 hours. (Video package of the card plays.) And now we find out the final three matches on our card...
(DiBiase's joins the announce team as the 16 men make their way down.)
Tenay: So, what exactly are we doing here tonight, Ted? What is with the Million Dollar Royale?
MDM: It's simple, Mike Tenay. It is time for the next step. It is time for the Million Dollar Dream to become the FWA instead of just a part of it. And that can only be done by putting Cena to the test with a massive challenger.
JR: Well then, why not just handpick a challenger?
MDM: We need the best. We need the next big thing. And I can't just choose that man. We can only truly find out who deserves to be here, and who will propel us to the next step, through this competition.
(As soon as the bell rings, the 16 men start pounding away at each other. Several early attempts are made to eliminate, but none are successful. Regal immediately comes to dominance by suplexing everyone in his path, tossing around numerous competitors with his arsenal of throws. Taking Noble down with a gut wrench, he floats over into the Regal stretch. Noble taps, but it doesn't matter.)
Tenay: There are no submissions in this match. Not that it matters to Noble. He'd do anything to make the pain stop.
JR: Even though this won't lead to elimination, wearing your opponent down is never a bad idea.
(Hardy tries to hit Bradshaw with a plancha in the corner, but he clotheslines him down then starts pummeling away. Dragon tries to hit the Dragon DDT on Maven, but Maven uses the momentum to launch him over the top rope, scoring the first elimination. This brings him to the attention of Punk who hip tosses him into a ground and pound. Hassan throws Bourne into the corner, only to have him climb the turnbuckle and take him down with a moonsault. Bradshaw picks up Hardy for a Fallaway Slam over the top rope; at the last minute Hardy catches himself. When Bradshaw goes after him, hardy catches him in a head scissors and starts trying to pull him over. A-Train takes advantage to eliminate them both. )
Tenay: With a match like this, you have to have eyes in the back of your head. Even the slightest distraction can let someone sneak up like A-Train just did, and remove you from the match.
(As Punk kicks away at Maven, Noble runs up behind with a double axe handle. He rushes at Punk, who dodges and tosses him over the ropes. Though Noble catches himself, and forearms Punk away, Eugene runs in and takes him off the apron with a shoulder to the gut. Hassan has gotten Bourne up to the top rope. He's delivering uppercuts, but Bourne gets a few kicks in driving him back. Diving off, he hits a tornado DDT. As he stands, Kennedy runs in with a mic check and removes Bourne. Across the ring, Kenzo has lifted Scotty 2 Hotty onto his shoulder to let Akio hit a jumping spin kick to Scotty's head. Using the momentum he spins and tosses him out as well. As they taunt, Harris runs up and spills Akio over as well.)
JR: And just like that, the field is cut in half.
(Furious, Kenzo rams Harris into the corner with his shoulder, using himself as a battering ram into his gut. He kicks away at him as he drops. Kennedy and Punk are alternating holds, reversing and countering, until Punk drops him into an arm bar in the middle of the mat. A Train goes after Eugene. He lifts him into the DeRailer, but Eugene drops behind him. Trying to hit a Rock Bottom, Train elbows his head until he drops the hold. Train goes for an axe kick, but Eugene ducks, bounds off the ropes and hits a Spear. Hassan tosses him out onto the apron, but Eugene holds on. He tries to hammer away, and Train joins him. As they try to push Eugene, he locks their heads and suplexes both over the ropes. Because they grab the rope, the three men start trading chops. Train goes for another axe kick, but Eugene drops, letting him take out Hassan. In shock, Train misses Eugene catching him from behind for a back drop on the apron. He falls to the floor and is eliminated. Before he can get back in however, Maven drop kicks him into the railing.)
Jr: What a heart breaker for Eugene, who managed to fight off two bigger and stronger men. He was on track for a Cinderella story, only to have it snatched away at the last minute by Maven.
Tenay: Both were impressive JR. Both what Eugene managed and Maven's brilliance in taking advantage. And now there's five. We have five now. Maven, Regal, Christopher Harris, CM Punk and Kennedy.
MDM: One of these men will face my boy in 48 hours.
(Regal and Harris tie up while Maven and Kennedy team up on Punk. Punk swings away, going back and forth on his two attackers. Harris gets the upper hand, getting Regal into the Rock Slide. But when he throws him out, Regal escapes, slips behind and suplexes Harris over the ropes. Kennedy gets Punk onto the apron, and as he is about to eliminate him, Maven tosses him, eliminating both men.)
JR: And then there were two.
Tenay: You have one of the best technical wrestlers of all time against a young talent who has been absolutely on fire.
MDM: And either is a blockbuster match for John Cena at Bound For Glory.
(The two face off and Regal chops away. Maven tries to get a headlock, only to have Regal lift him into an inverse Atomic Drop. He goes for the Regal Stretch, but Maven gets to the ropes. As he stomps, pulling Maven back into the ring, he whips him, but Maven catches himself, turns and dropkicks Regal's knee. He goes for a guillotine, only to have Regal lift and Northern Lights Suplex him. Staggering into the corner, Maven gets Regal's knees to the gut. He can only stop it with a thumb to the eye. Mounting the second rope he hits his diving bulldog. Maven cannot capitalize him, and finds himself about to be tossed. In desperation, he swings his leg back into Regal's groin, and, when Regal staggers away, he dropkicks him over the ropes for the victory.)
JR:Blatant cheating from Maven.
Tenay: There are no rules in a match like this except to be the last man in the ring.
MDM: Maven did what he had to do to pull out a tremendous victory. That is the kind of drive I like to see.
JR: Winning with a low blow?
MDM: Winning. By any means necessary. I am proud to call him the Million Dollar winner, and, in two days, he will be in a huge match at Bound For Glory.
(Million Dollar Man goes in to raise Maven's hand as we go to commercial.)
(Coming back, Commissioner Foley is in the ring with Shawn Michaels and Scott Hall.)
Foley: And now, it is time to find out what our dual main events at Bound For Glory will be. Our two champions will reveal who they chose for each other's opponents. We start with Shawn Michaels.
HBk: Scott, I want to say this. After everything we have been through. I just want to say...I deeply and truly....despise you. And I wanted my pick for you to reflect that. I hope he injures you, I hope he breaks you. At Bound for Glory, you will face...the Samoan Submission Machine, Samoa Joe.
JR: Oh, good lord. I can't believe he managed to get Joe to work with him.
Tenay: I can. It gives Joe a chance to show he can beat the WWF Champion. It gives him a chance to hurt someone. How could Joe say no?
(As Joe comes in, Hall looks stricken.)
Foley: Well, Scott, it's your turn, who did you pick.
(Hall can't even speak. He takes the microphone but stands speechless. Several times it looks like he's going to say something. But finally he just drops his head and points to the stage. As the lights drop, Goldberg's music hits.)
JR:OH MY GOD! WE HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS MATCH BEFORE.
Tenay: Goldberg vs Shawn Michaels is a wrestling fan's dream.
(As Goldberg makes his way to the ring, Joe jumps the gun and starts hammering away at Hall. He destroys the unsuspecting Hall. HBK tries to help but Goldberg slides in and throws Michaels into the other corner. As Joe and Goldberg destroy their respective competitors, the ref vainly tries to get order. Joe manages to get Hall up for a Muscle Buster as Goldberg hits the Spear. As Joe drops Hall, and goes for the Cocina Clutch, Goldberg hits the Jackhammer for the pin. An instant before the refs hand falls for the third count, Hall taps. Joe's music hits and Goldberg lets go of HBK. The two men get in each other's face and talk smack.)
Tenay: Could we be seeing the future of the FWA?
(Laughing, Joe raises his fist in victory as the two go forehead to forehead. We fade to the FWA logo.)
Foley: Welcome, to the final FWA Smackdown before Bound For Glory. We are proud to bring this show from....Detroit, Michigan (cheap pop). We have a blockbuster show for you tonight.
