They truly make perfect sense. People arguing for scalpers saying it’s a free market and they are hustling are not wrong in theory but in moral. Someone who waits outside a store to open and buys everyone to resell it to collectors and parents is lame. It’s my opinion. You’re preying on a market. It’s not different than buying all of a certain product people may want but can only find at one store. Doesn’t make anyone a savvy business man or smart just slimy. Again my opinion. As for comparing hobby shops to scalpers that’s just silly. Most retailers get their stock manufacturers and or trade ins. To say they are scalpers is silly. It’s someone running a business not buying toys and reselling them from their basement. To your point you can choose not to buy from a hobby shop but when target is the only retailer selling an item that is scalped it limits buying options. Bad for everyone “It’s not different than buying all of a certain product people may want but can only find at one store.” This is exactly why your analogy is comparing apples to lawnmowers. Cheese isn’t exclusive to one store. These are collectibles and store exclusives. Literally unable to compare that to cheese. You can compare buying all the cheese to buying all the toilet paper in a pandemic but not to scalping toy exclusives and selling them on the secondary market. I’m not arguing with you that scalping sucks. I didn’t once defend scalping. But your analogies are really, really bad... they are counterproductive to your arguments. Look up analogy and maybe you’ll understand.

Just because the hobby shop has a physical storefront? No different they are doing the same exact thing. No, that’s 100% the same thing. I’m saying people saying all hobby shops are middle men and therefore indirectly scalpers is wrong.

So then why are you even complaining about it? You sound ridiculous now. You’re literally whining about a figure you don’t even want. You’ve literally wasted our time. EDIT: and you’ve acknowledged that you wouldn’t even be able to find some exclusives due to not having a Walmart near you. You cant complain about scalpers than because no one is stealing them from you if you arent able to go there. Dude get over yourself. I complained about the amazon figure selling out and then seeing dozens on ebay for $45+. I explained how I’ve managed to not get an elite of one of my favorite wrestlers over the years. Mattel likes to hold out on us on particular looks for whatever reason. Sorry to waste your time. 🤭 You could have been scalping this whole time. Why would I be scalping? You sound like a spoiled child who isn’t getting what the want. This thread had/ has nothing to do with Mattel “holding out on looks.” You’re changing what you’re saying throughout this thread because you know that your original post is silly and a waste of time. And you never “explained” how you couldn’t get a hold of one of your favorite wrestlers in figure form. It’s actually very easy. There’s many of them on eBay. No jokes aside. If you don’t want to spend $45 on one of your favorite wrestlers after 10 years of Mattel making figures the. That is in you. You obviously don’t want him enough. It’s really not that hard. Or, you could have made sure to get it on Amazon before it sold out. This is truly all on you and you want to blame others for not getting the figure you want at the price you want. I guarantee that if someone had an extra and offered to sell it to you at $30 to cover the shipping (which would be making zero profit), you’d say no because it wouldnt be at retail. Find a different hobby.

And I’m sure he’ll have no scuffs and be absolutely perfect. Have fun waiting another ten years for a Steamboat.

Sure, there have been several Steamboat releases. To be fair FB3 was scarce, but we don’t know the reasoning as to why he doesn’t yet have a Steamboat. Just trying to look at it about this particular figure, or any figure in general. I would like to get Steamboat in green pants without the headband to match more of his classic look rather than WWE run. But the white pants are iconic too as he wore that at wrestlemania 3. The Flashback figure was like one of most elusive sets ever. I also don’t have walmarts in nyc. so i never saw that figure for a reasonable price. And now this new one is basically a re-release but i still can’t capture it from amazon. I’m just not that interested in the dragon attire or that first release. Why didnt you buy his B45 figure?

I’ve been close. Holding out for the elite, still. The only basic on the shelf is Hideo Itami.

Bro, you don’t comprehend English at all. I’m making a point using an example. If you’re that dense I’ll never get through to you and as for contradicting myself no I didn’t. I said saying EVERY hobby shop is a scalper is wrong but in the dudes example he said what if the shop scalps then yes it’s a scalper. You seem to pick out pieces of conversations you understand and leave the rest behind

You obviously don’t comprehend English because you read all of those posts wrong. Those people were simply making comparisons. You decided that they wrote that ALL of them are like that.

On principle I cannot give to a scalper. I would rather bail out violent rioters than donate it to a scalper.

I just don't entertain the scalper weirdos. I'll never pay over retail for a figure. Fair sellers are out there just be patient. Who is selling a figure at retail price? They are loosing money that way after the fees. And even if you pay retail price, you’re still paying shipping on top of that so you technically are paying more than retail price.

You would rather bail out violent rioters than pay a scalper... you have bigger issues my friend. Edit: and actually you stated how you don’t REALLY want those figures and want a different version instead. You go back and forth and change your mind post to post. But I’m done now that you said something completely illogical and downright criminal in its own right... have fun defending violent rioters.
